We spent two nights at this 2* hotel which is fairly typical of this grade in France, perhaps a little more basic than some - eg non-carpet substance in corridors and rooms. Beds were comfortable, shower very small, but everywhere very clean. We had a small balcony and a fantastic view over the bay to the Chateau and harbour. A generous self service petit dejeuner - excellent croissants - is served in reception area, not warm enough to have it on the little terrace. Friendly, helpful reception staff. Good value at equivalent of £28 pppn for B&B.

"Nos amis les chiens" This tip applies equally to almost every French village,/town/city where we have stayed in more than 40 years of travelling in France - Watch where you tread!! When will the French begin to understand that beaches and pavements liberally littered with the excrement of dogs are not only obnoxious but also pose a serious health hazard.

Don't go in June - August We heard from many local people that May and late September/October was beautiful. Still warm but not crowded at all. The experience we had was not restricted to the hotel. We found many of the merchants and restaurant personnel were short, unfriendly and in some cases downright hostile. This is probably due to this being a seasonal resort rather than a year-round town.
