Top Local Tips for Chamonix Mont Blanc

Fairweather Skiiers Although Chamonix is well known for its extreme skiing, we ladies went on a girly weekend looking for easy skiing, nightlife and shopping. Chamonix hit all the right notes. Le Tour was great for getting our confidence with some easy runs. Although we went mid March, snow was plentiful on the slopes, Had some wonderful days skiing without the bulky jackets and sitting in the cafes soaking up the rays.

Airport Transfers We booked our airport transfers with ACT. I can't recommend them enough. They were there at the arrivals with a board with our name on. As I approached them the driver was English and had my first name which was really lovely. The day before our departure they text my mobile to confirm our pick up time. Excellent.

Parking The town car parks are expensive, 12 euros per day. However, on the ring road, if you are lucky, you can park in some sections which are 24 hour parking free of charge. Look out for these, although it is luck that someone has just pulled out and left the space!
