Have just returned from Malibu Village in Canet En Roussillon after one weeks holiday with all my family. We had four two bedroom apartments to accommodate 8 adults and two, two year old children.
I wish to advise you that our family holiday was the worst holiday I have ever experienced. I have listed below the reasons for my complaint.
Poor quality apartments with no washing machine and several electrical fault, Curtain rail hanging down. and the floor and furniture was dirty. These same problems occurred in all four apartments.
My daughter and partner and child was on level four without a lift.
We reported to reception that human excrement was floating in the pool. It was four hours before maintenance attended to it. They did not close the pool and it was fished out and thrown in the garden. The pool was not cleaned out. Needless to say we did not enter the pool again.
There was two restaurants open. We eat in both, once. The food was not prepared properly and was in part left on on the plates on both occasions.
The season finished at the end of August and we found ourselves stranded without a Taxi late in the evening with two children and one pregnant daughter.
Half way through the week several football teams arrived and took over the complex. This was very intimidating for my family.
We had to wait between 15 and thirty minutes at reception to get served. There seemed to be a shortage of staff.
Many shops were shut and beach clubs closed. The beaches were empty even though the weather was good. Why did you not inform us of this seasonal low season when you recommended this resort to us.
As you can see I am not at all pleased with this two star quality when you made a promise to us that we would always get 4/5 star accommodation.
Don't go there repeated again

As the previous two reviews, my experience was roughly about the same, very basic accomodation. Hard camp beds, broken wardrobes, curtains that were falling down, bathroom sink plug didn't open, mildew on bath, basic kitchen utensils, no washer, no english channels on tv, etc etc. Avoid if possible. Although the area is very nice, but expensive. I will be complaining to CLC, as this accommodation definately does not stand up to expectations. Everybody we spoke to were complaining, one man had damp in his bedroom, another family couldn't stand up in the bedroom has the roof was too low. Again Avoid this complex.

I sympathise with the couple above, we stayed at the Malibu Village June 2007 through club la Costa. I had looked up this resort before we went and all looked good, I knew there was standard, comfort and comfort plus accommodation.
When we go there the accommodations was like something from the 60's, we complained and was told were in the best ones i.e. comfort plus.
Unable to get a drink around the pool area until 3pm limited entertainment, overall accommodation was very very poor, steer well clear unless you want to go down memory lane and imagine you are in a Butlins complex.
Like the above couple we have complained to CLC and at present have got no where.
Don't go there.

We spent an uncomfortable week in a poky, badly furnished apartment in Malibu Village. The restaurant had closed for the season and the resort shop had very limited opening hours. The toaster oven was scorched and broken, there was no washing machine or dryer, the clothes airer was broken and rusted, the bedroom was only a foot or so wider than that bed on each side and the cupboard door did not close becasue of the hot water tank. The bath surounds were crumbling and mildewed and the plug holes rusted. For entertainment we could sit on our patio and watch the feral cats catching and killing the mice and rates from the nearby communal rubbish bins. However, the area itself is beautiful and there was a lot to see and do, I would reecommend a visit to that part of France, just don't stay at Malibu Village! I have already complained to Club La Costa but have not got very far with them.
