I stayed at the hotel with my mother and teenage son (19) on our first night in France and all enjoyed the visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and quiet and the location was perfect (the back streets of Bordeaux looking out onto charming french houses opposite). Breakfast was good. Would go there again and recommend it.

This is a good choice budget hotel for Bordeaux, it is centrally located off the main shopping street. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Shop arround online for the best rate. There is a lovely square very near the hotel with good restaurants and bar. Bordeaux is a super city to go to for a weekend break.

Top Local Tips for Bordeaux

Cinema Culture Visit Utopia cinema very close by on Place Camille for a good selection of world cinema in a quaint environment. Profit from the local cafés and bars.

St Emillion For a great day out take the local train to St Emillion. It is a lovely medievil village with cobblestone streets and a lovely atmosphere. There are also a number of wineries close to the train station where you can visit the cellar door and get a tour of the winery. The local train is cheap and the countryside is beautiful

Sunday market If you are in town on a Sunday you will find most shops are closed. However if the weather's fine then make sure you don’t miss the food market on the quay near the battleship - your hotel will provide details but its about a 20 minute walk from the Opera area. Food at this market was the just the beat we had seen in Europe - go for the cheeses, the rotisserie chickens and rabbits or the freshly shucked oysters and cooked sea snails. Yum.
