Top Local Tips for Bayeux
Bayeux is so worth a visit We loved Bayeux. There are loads of little shops there - all worth visiting. We were at the end of our trip, with our car carefully packed to allow for maximum wine purchase next day - and we bought loods of other stuff. We puchased in at least 3 different shops and saw lovely stuff in another 2 or 3! We struggled slightly to find somewhere to eat that night. We eventually "settled" for 1 of only 2 restaurants we could find where we'd walked to. And what a wonderful meal. We struggled with the menu and had decided to only order mains. The waiter was obviously very knowledgable on all the food and had described the specials in details. When he took the order, he recommended a dish for a starter - we hadn't asked for this, he just volunteered! WE deciced to try it - it was one to share. In a million years, I wouldn't have chosen it, but it was gorgeous. We had lovely main courses and desserts and when it came to drinks, again he recommended an apple brandy - nice too!!!!!
