Top Local Tips for Antibes

good base Antibes has about 80,000 people according to locals and old centre has a small town feel and we felt safe at any hour. There's enough to keep you busy there but still find peace and quiet. The beaches are very nice and sandy. There's a really cool absinthe bar there. It's an ancient cave-like bar and very special. Be sure to walk the old side streets as there are some gorgeous streets offering excellent photo opportunities. Great to travel to Nice by train (about 15 - 20 minutes) and the train is frequent and inexpensive. If you are departing from the Nice airport on a Sunday morning, if you can get a flight later in the morning you'd save quite a bit of money because you can catch the first bus which doesn't run until some time after 8 am. Plan about a 35 minute bus ride. No trains to the Nice airport.

Perhaps not July or August Weather in May or October is pleasant and is still beach weather. Much less crowded at the beach and in the town.
