Be aware of the hotel's rule before you book

When we were going to have dinner we would have prefered to keep our room key with us rather then in the unattended hall. The owner told us off and made a very bid deal by saying that we "must" respect the hotel's rule. However, his desk and pc were closed off by an iron gate and he said that if anything went missing from our room, it was not the hotel's responsibility. We did not feel treated well and if we had not been so tired, we would have left right away.

Beautiful Hotel and Lovely Location

We have just returned from a lovely trip to Annecy and found the Hotel Des Marquisats ideally situated just far enough from the main road to remain peaceful and relaxing (up a short hill). It is a 15 minute stroll by the lake to town or a regular(every 15 mins) bus service at the end of the road takes 5 minutes to town. The hotel has a terrace with a view of the lake. The room was comfortable and pleasant with a lake view,the staff friendly and helpful. The 'taxi' service offered was great, collecting and returning us to the railway station(a reasonable cost added to the hotel bill at the end). I am very happy to recommend this hotel.
