Top Local Tips for Amboise

Highly recommended We stayed at "Le Vinci" in July for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The staff is very professionnel, pleasant and helpful. The level of comfort and the amenities of our room (number 208) is absolute top. A first class establishment in a perfect setting.

Excellent value "Le Vinci" was our first hotel stop during our 7 day circle tour in Loire Valley. The hotel itself is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The setting, rooms are wonderful and the breakfast so lovely. The staff is very pleasant, professional and helpful. This hotel has easy acces to the center of Amboise and the surrounding countryside.

Chinese If you don't speak passable French, avoid the Chinese! It advertises English menus, but if you have any problem at all, you'll find English is not really spoken. We ordered starters and mains, got 1 starter, 1 main (minus rice) at the same time. Sent away another main - delviered with a flurry of French. Then managed to get the 2nd starter. Food was lovely. Got 1 rice at some stage, but could not get the 2nd main and couldn't explain the problem. Eventually dragged the waitress over and started pointing - wiht limited success. Turned out the main we got was given to the wrong one of us - half eaten at this stage! We ask to get another of the same - and ended up getting the other originally ordered main, which we sent back again and finally we did get the 2nd dish. Strangely enough, we had a very good night - after a 2nd bottle of wine!
