Good basic hotel. BUT!!!

We found this hotel, basic and cheap and in an excellent location for the Cathedral area(10 minutes stroll.) Our room No8 was large with separate wash & shower room,the shower room had mildew in all the corners (why don't they just peel the old stuff off and replace it?) the bedroom had a large shuttered window overlooking the small garden. The room, bedsheets,and towels were all clean, but the worst part was the carpet tiles, which were ill fitted and a bit grubby, the carpet spoilt the room, one other point is that there is only one w/c between a few rooms with no w/cs. Car parking is on the road & at the railway station opposite,we had no trouble parking. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We would use this hotel again if they spent say euros 130 to make the rooms look much better. To summarize, because of the location & price I think you should try this hotel& make up your own mind about it.

read the blurb My friend had read the tourist blurb and so we bought a pass whihc gave us free enterance to the major atractions and discounts in restaurants and some shops as well as other attractions.

galerie dutilleul can highly recommend this restaurant/galerie in the square beside the cathedrallovely ambience and excellent food 3 course set meal for 18 Euro or 24 euro.
