We arrived at Hotel Cardinal on May 22nd 2008, having booking several weeks previously by email. A deposit for the booking was taken via bank transfer. When we arrived, we were told that no room was available. The receptionist located our emails confirming the booking, but provided no explanation or apology for the fact that no rooms were available. Instead, we were accused of having called to cancel the booking the previous weekend, which was complete nonsense. We were forced to contact the local Tourist Office to make alternative arrangements elsewhere. So, the Hotel Cardinal: they take your booking, take a deposit and when you arrive, tell you that you called to cancel. To repeat: no apology or explanation was provided. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I hope no one else has to go through what we went through.
