I stayed in the Hotel Selandia during a heat wave in Copenhagen. There was no air conditoning in the room and no fan was available for use. The room must have been about 35 degrees Centigrade and absolutely unbearable. The window overlooked a courtyard below which served a large apartment building with people coming and going through the night. When I opened the window to try and get some air, the noise made it impossible to sleep.The hotel needs to be better prepared for weather changes such as heatwaves and problems of external noise by installing fans or air conditioners.

Cheap eats The Riz Raz cafe is a great place for a cheap smorgasboard with heaps of great hot and cold dishes on offer

Taxis quite expensive If you're on a budget try to stay within the main hub of the public transport system as even though you might get a good deal on a hotel, if you're going back late at night and public transport isn't running to your accommodation you could end up paying upwards of 200DKK for a 15-20 minute taxi trip.

Sightseeing musts in Copenhagen If you are taking a short trip to Copenhagen, taken a Harbour & City Tour for a two-and-a-half hour journey through all the major spots of the city, first by bus then by boat. Also take a castle tour to one or more of the North Zealand castles. The Information Centre on Vesterbro is a convenient place to book your tours.
