Top Local Tips for Copenhagen
March not a good idea!!! Try and leave your trip until mid April as all museums and parks will be open then. (only a few were open in March) Alot close for the winter season!!!
Debit Cards v. Credit Cards; Ticket Chaos at CPH train station 1. Note that most vendors & restaurants in CPH do not take credit cards; only debit cards! Even some major museums refuse Visa & MasterCard credit cards. Either bring a debit card or lots of cash. 2. Expect huge lines at the ticket window at CPH airport for the train to central station. If you try to use one of the two (count 'em -- two) ticket machines, then you want a 3-zone ticket (and, again, a debit card or coins -- no credit cards or currency).
Tivoli and it's food! Tivoli is a must see, although it isn't cheap. But as you can go in and out (if you buy the multi ride pass, I'm not sure otherwise) it is a good place to go in to look around, play on the rides, pop back to the hotel for a snooze and then go back for dinner and a concert! The restaurants are of good quality and I'd particularly recommend Cafe Ultimo (Italian) - now I realise it's not Danish but the food is good quality, brought promptly, the atmosphere is great and staff friendly. I had a very leisurely meal there - which is unusual seeing as I was travelling alone! As with all things in Denmark it isn't cheap but it was good quality - which is a surpise to someone from England who avoids eating in touristy places as they are overpriced and bad quality!

We can say that the Savoy hotel is :
* A well situated hotel, about 500m from the main station and 10min from the town center.
* The staff was very friendly and helpfull
* Room was small,a little noisy sometimes depending on the neighbours, but confortable and well heated.
* Breakfast was ok (normal buffet)
* There is a locked luggage room where you can leave your bags.
Conclusion : people that wrote bad reviews about this hotel had certainly bad luck because we thought it was above average with a good price comparing to hotels in London for exemple.
We would definitly recommend it.
