t stay here again
from A TripAdvisor Memberservice was very good
from A TripAdvisor MemberBelow average hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe rooms I stayed in felt dated and completely worn out.
For a "luxury" hotel the rooms were completely below standard.
My room was tiny, had no air-conditioning and no proper air circulation, resulting in a boiling temperature (this at the end of October!) during the night. The window could be opened, but the noise from the very busy street below prevented that.
The mattress and the pillows were very soft, which meant that I woke up every morning with a sore back and neck!
I asked for another room and behold...it was even smaller than the first one, with the same soft mattress and a lack of air circulation. The view from this room was...well...I don't know really, because of some fungus growing between the two layers of glass.
Needless to say that I will not be staying there again...ever!
Horrible, Insensitive and Not too clean
from californianBreakfast buffet was very bad.next day we walked to the nearby marriott
for a wonderful service.Breakfast is not included and it is bad.
They have a lovely restaurant on the 25th floor. We wanted to celebrate
our wedding anniversary by having dinner there on aug 30, 2005.
They had quite a few empty tables, but the host refused to seat us
claiming the cooks were too busy to prepare food for us.Surprised i had to experience this type of treatment here at the radisson scandinavian in copenhagen.
President of radisson claims that they would issue full refund if the
customer is not satisfied, i wish they would use the money to give
sensitivity training to their staff.Noticed the same attitude when i
checked in.
Next time i will stay at the marriott.
No problem for business, impersonal for pleasure
from HibitBest thing is the view
from JCSideThe hotel is so bland that I have almost forgotten what it was like, less than 2 days after checking out ! So I had better get it all down before I forget...
Lobby, bar and restaurants are all simply passable. There is a slight feeling of neglect about the place. For instance the window frame in my room was rotten, there was a bucket catching drips from the aircon unit in the corridor. Bed was very uneven - I am glad I was not sharing it ! Also, there was some unidentified hair in the bath when I arrived, and it was still there when I checked out (I had showers only !).
Room service meal was unpleasant, very greasy and not worth the 20GBP for what was basically a round of sandwiches and a glass of wine. Make sure you eat out, even the tourist restaurants in the centre of town seem good value in comparison. Breakfast buffet was quite good for variety and quality.
The location is OK, but if you are on foot it is quite an unpleasant walk from central station, along a busy road. It took me 10-15 mins to walk from Tivoli.
I wouldn't say my stay was a nightmare, I am just glad I was not paying for it.
Nothing special!
from Joyrolls something missing...
from sukramseThe taxi journey from Copenhagen Central Station is short and swift - we did not feel like walking to the hotel since it is a bit outside the built-up city centre. On arrival we were hungry and reception informed us that all of the the hotel's restaurants had closed but that they had sandwiches in the hotel bar. Fair enough, we thought - it was almost 11pm. We left our luggage in our room and went to the bar, which - surprise, surprise - did not serve food after all... "The kitchen was closed"... Fortunately there was a petrol station next to the hotel (that's all there is in the vicinity!) and we managed to get there before they closed (at 11pm) to buy a couple of not-so-nice sandwiches. Next, we thought we'd have a couple of drinks in the bar... and perhaps some peanuts to go with it... Drinks - fine. Peanuts - they didn't have. The hotel advertises itself as Denmark's largest hotel and not only do they not have any kind of food after 11pm - the bar doesn't even have peanuts to sell! This situation in a small hotel in central Copenhagen would not have been a problem (loads of shops and bars round the corner) but since SAS Radission Scandinavia is located in some sort of odd near-city-centre-limbo of industrial areas, highways, petrol stations, wasteland and fields it does bring the grade down - And it kind of illustrates the problem with the hotel. The rooms are a bit worn but OK enough, the lobby is fine (but why do the Danes insist on smoking everywhere, including the lifts, and why does the hotel put up with this?!), the reception area is OK, but the small but important details are lacking - in the case of the peanuts, they are lacking quite literally!
Corporate Hotel
from Password11Ideal location if visiting The nearby Exhibition Center - Bella Center.
If staying on a short break holiday, there are better hotels to choose from
Average but nothing special
from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Copenhagen
Buy Copenhagen Card Go to the Copenhagen train station upon arrival and buy a multiple day Copenhagen card. It gives access to buses , subway and S train. Also discounts on many restaurants and free admission to numerous museums and sight seeing attractions.
You will need plenty of cash Pretty expensive for food & drink (beer is about 10USD), so bring plenty of cash. Go to the Carlsberg museum, next to the Tivoli Gardens on Sunday - it's free !!!
Take a Copenhagen Canal Ride The dock for the Canal ride is at Nyhaven, about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. They take a credit card and have a toilette right next to the dock. It's a great tour of the city - just watch your head while going under those pretty bridges.
