The Radisson SAS in Copenhagen is a nice stay, no arguing about that. The rooms are spacios compared to European hotels and clean with good facilities. Resturant is avarage in quality and service and price is rather hight for the lot of it. Location is all right, good connection (METRO) to Fields shopping mall at least. Would I stay there again? Maby! With a little dicount? Likely!
Very enjoyable

Great room, lovely food, good service. Very convenient in terms of travel and city centre. Good value for money.

t stay here again

from A TripAdvisor Member
I booked this hotel because of the pool and squash courts. However, I checked out one hour after checking in - the lobby was smokey, the key didn't work, the internet didn't work, and the room was Chinese design which seemed so out of place in Denmark. The hotel was not well located, and while not desperately far away from things, nor was it close. The pool was small and there was a fee for the squash court, with very few hours available and limited hours on Sunday. I was expecting my husband to join me, and found the atmosphere antithetical to a romantic weekend. I moved over to the SAS Royal for only slightly more, and enjoyed our stay.

service was very good

Rooms are small and with a funny layout and decoration. Views from the rooms are great and is quite close to town on walking distance, maybe 15 minutes walking. The subway station is also really close. Service was very good.

Below average hotel

I stayed at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel for 6 long days and couldn't wait to check out.

The rooms I stayed in felt dated and completely worn out.

For a "luxury" hotel the rooms were completely below standard.
My room was tiny, had no air-conditioning and no proper air circulation, resulting in a boiling temperature (this at the end of October!) during the night. The window could be opened, but the noise from the very busy street below prevented that.
The mattress and the pillows were very soft, which meant that I woke up every morning with a sore back and neck!
I asked for another room and behold...it was even smaller than the first one, with the same soft mattress and a lack of air circulation. The view from this room was...well...I don't know really, because of some fungus growing between the two layers of glass.

Needless to say that I will not be staying there again...ever!

Horrible, Insensitive and Not too clean

They have a nice lobby but the rooms are very ordinary and no air conditioning. The bathroom was filthy the commodes especially.
Breakfast buffet was very bad.next day we walked to the nearby marriott
for a wonderful service.Breakfast is not included and it is bad.
They have a lovely restaurant on the 25th floor. We wanted to celebrate
our wedding anniversary by having dinner there on aug 30, 2005.
They had quite a few empty tables, but the host refused to seat us
claiming the cooks were too busy to prepare food for us.Surprised i had to experience this type of treatment here at the radisson scandinavian in copenhagen.
President of radisson claims that they would issue full refund if the
customer is not satisfied, i wish they would use the money to give
sensitivity training to their staff.Noticed the same attitude when i
checked in.
Next time i will stay at the marriott.

No problem for business, impersonal for pleasure

Pretty standard Radisson SAS. Breakfast and evening buffet fine. Room fine. Good hotel gym though, one of the better ones. A couple of the restaurants looked interesting but pricey.

Best thing is the view

from JCSide
Stayed on business for 2 nights during the week.

The hotel is so bland that I have almost forgotten what it was like, less than 2 days after checking out ! So I had better get it all down before I forget...

Lobby, bar and restaurants are all simply passable. There is a slight feeling of neglect about the place. For instance the window frame in my room was rotten, there was a bucket catching drips from the aircon unit in the corridor. Bed was very uneven - I am glad I was not sharing it ! Also, there was some unidentified hair in the bath when I arrived, and it was still there when I checked out (I had showers only !).

Room service meal was unpleasant, very greasy and not worth the 20GBP for what was basically a round of sandwiches and a glass of wine. Make sure you eat out, even the tourist restaurants in the centre of town seem good value in comparison. Breakfast buffet was quite good for variety and quality.

The location is OK, but if you are on foot it is quite an unpleasant walk from central station, along a busy road. It took me 10-15 mins to walk from Tivoli.

I wouldn't say my stay was a nightmare, I am just glad I was not paying for it.

Nothing special!

This is a hotel you would stay at when you need to be close to the airport. Otherwise, it's in the middle of nowhere. Rooms are fine, a bit on the small side. Clean, standard. Odd Asian themed rooms - seemed out of place - I expected a more Danish style. We got a cheap rate through Expedia, $150 (US) which was competitive against higher summer tourist rates. One BIG criticism - on the hotel's top floor is a restaurant offering amazing views of the city - go for drinks, but skip having dinner there. It was an overpriced and mediocre meal and the services was really poor, if not downright rude service.

s something missing...

from sukramse
Me and my partner arrived in Copenhagen late and needed to stay overnight before flying out from Copenhagen airport the following day. Found a few cheap and decent hotels on the web but opted for the slightly more pricey Radisson SAS Scandinavia since it is supposedly more classy than many of the B&Bs and small hotels in central Copenhagen.
The taxi journey from Copenhagen Central Station is short and swift - we did not feel like walking to the hotel since it is a bit outside the built-up city centre. On arrival we were hungry and reception informed us that all of the the hotel's restaurants had closed but that they had sandwiches in the hotel bar. Fair enough, we thought - it was almost 11pm. We left our luggage in our room and went to the bar, which - surprise, surprise - did not serve food after all... "The kitchen was closed"... Fortunately there was a petrol station next to the hotel (that's all there is in the vicinity!) and we managed to get there before they closed (at 11pm) to buy a couple of not-so-nice sandwiches. Next, we thought we'd have a couple of drinks in the bar... and perhaps some peanuts to go with it... Drinks - fine. Peanuts - they didn't have. The hotel advertises itself as Denmark's largest hotel and not only do they not have any kind of food after 11pm - the bar doesn't even have peanuts to sell! This situation in a small hotel in central Copenhagen would not have been a problem (loads of shops and bars round the corner) but since SAS Radission Scandinavia is located in some sort of odd near-city-centre-limbo of industrial areas, highways, petrol stations, wasteland and fields it does bring the grade down - And it kind of illustrates the problem with the hotel. The rooms are a bit worn but OK enough, the lobby is fine (but why do the Danes insist on smoking everywhere, including the lifts, and why does the hotel put up with this?!), the reception area is OK, but the small but important details are lacking - in the case of the peanuts, they are lacking quite literally!

Corporate Hotel

from Password11
If staying on business the hotel is fine, average bar, average rooms, choice of 3 restaurants - although stay away from "Mama & Papas" for dinner, and a gym with pool.
Ideal location if visiting The nearby Exhibition Center - Bella Center.
If staying on a short break holiday, there are better hotels to choose from

Average but nothing special

This is a nice typical large high rise hotel. Don’t get me wrong the rooms were nicely decorated, clean, full services are available and there is even a casino. (I did not go in so I can’t comment on it.) The location is a 10 minute walk along a fairly busy four lane road over a waterway/bridge to city center. This hotel reminded me of being in the suburbs of the US going to a high rise hotel with ample car parking. Yikes! The staff was helpful and the view from my room was good. Buffet in the evening was simply OK but he morning buffet was good in variety and taste. It was odd how the evening could be so different than the morning in quality. I think the reason you would stay there would be an affinity program or you stayed in a two star dump and gladly go to a business persons oriented hotel because you know in your minds eye exactly what you will be getting.

Top Local Tips for Copenhagen

Buy Copenhagen Card Go to the Copenhagen train station upon arrival and buy a multiple day Copenhagen card. It gives access to buses , subway and S train. Also discounts on many restaurants and free admission to numerous museums and sight seeing attractions.

You will need plenty of cash Pretty expensive for food & drink (beer is about 10USD), so bring plenty of cash. Go to the Carlsberg museum, next to the Tivoli Gardens on Sunday - it's free !!!

Take a Copenhagen Canal Ride The dock for the Canal ride is at Nyhaven, about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. They take a credit card and have a toilette right next to the dock. It's a great tour of the city - just watch your head while going under those pretty bridges.
