The really bad hotel, the heating was not working for the whole day and night on the very cold October day. The stuff was unfriendly, the room was very inconvenient, too small, and lightning in the room is bad. If you want to work, the table is too small, chair uncomfortable, no lightening. No mugs, or cups for tea, only plastic. The bed is narrow. Breakfast is very modest, one taste of tea, coffee very bad quality. It was very noisy on the corridor in the night. The bathroom was another disappointment. The whole bathroom becomes a shower cabin, which is very unpractical, everything gets wet.
The overall, I was feeling was so disappointing and was happy to leave. The worst hotel I have ever seen.

The expeience was a complete disappointment. The room was miniscule, the housekeeping was non-existent and the staff was rude and not helpful. I will under no circumstances stay at a Cab Inn City Hotel again.

Misleading information

Very misleading brochures and staff didn't not especially friendly when complaining obvious mistakes. We reserved captain class room because there weren't any others left. When we checked in we were given a commodore class room. Very small with broken curtains. After complaining we got a captain class room that didn't look like the one in brochures (much smaller). We also learned that there aren't any double beds although you can reserve one. I felt cheated and wouldn't pay more than the minimum discount price for any room in the hotel. Anyway there is very little difference in the rooms and definitely not worth tens of euros.

Our bad hotel experience.

We only booked at the CanInn Hotel for our last night in Copenhagen as our opther hotel wa they were unable to accommodate us for a fourth night after we decided to extend our stay. We booked on the recommendation of the tourist office and were told that it was a 3 star hotel. It is in fact now only 2 star - the brochure is rather misleading.

We were not able to get into the room until 3 p.m. and were charged for storing our luggage from the time we arrived at 10.00 a.m.
The number of the room we were eventually allocated was different from what we had been told when we first arrived at the hotel.
The room had the following faults as far as we were concerned:-

It was in poor condition. Both Venetian blinds were broken, one badly. The toilet/shower was so small that the shower curtain was pushing against my knees and face when I used the toilet. The curtain rings were broken. It was very stuffy and we could not open the windows until a staff member managed to open it.
It was tiny with very little space for cases. We had to haul one bed out which was not easy for elderly guests.
Internet facilities were available (at a cost, unlike our other Copenhagen 2 star hotel)in the lobby but we had to stand up to use it. It was advertised that CNN was available in all rooms but it was only available on the setsin the public areas. Coffee was available in the room but only in foam cups.

I complained to the manager about the room but as he was unhelpful, I went back to the tourist office and made a verbal complaint. With such a late admission time, it was too late to change hotels.

I always look for budget accommodation but I cannot remember a worse experience in a hotel in the 7 European trips I have made.

It's like being on a landlocked ship

The rooms are small but quite functional -- and for the price it can't be beat. The staff is excellent, the place is very clean... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Though, if you got lot's of money to spend, this place isn't for you.

Top Local Tips for Copenhagen

Umami and Noma If you have saved some money by booking a room at Cabinn - then you should spend some extra money on a great dining experience. Try Noma (very expensive - but fantastic food and rated among the worlds 50 best restaurants) - or Umami with their mix of the French and Japanese kitchen, great looking facilities and funky drinks from very skilled bartenders

Go before 11am most things were closing couldnt find a decent restaurant. Danish people unfriendly and rude! we found a chinese restaurant which was closing in an hour, food was salty now I thought chinese did not cook with salt and even worst he tried to pad our bill with someone elses, the nerve of this guy.

The Little Mermaid Be prepared when you want to get there: it's a minimum 30-40 minutes walk from the Central Station, after you leaving the main shopping street (at the last third of the walk) NO restaurants, NO public toilets (only closed) ones available, that's in a residental area. It's very easy to walk into the "Castle" instead of the way to the sculpture, follow the big tourist groups.
