Service excellent - staff couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast very good with wide choice. Very clean everywhere. Location is fine - just a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square, or a tram stop. Decor clean and modern - and our room was very well equipped - with even an umbrella for dealing with the inevitable rain.

I am using the free computer facilities to write this review. We particularly appreciated free internet access, as it meant we could quickly find information about the city and facilities without hunting down guide books etc.

People like to hear some criticism - so here is the only thing I can think of that could be improved. The coffee at breakfast is indifferent - however that seems to be true of coffee throughout Prague!

The hotel was excellent great service went as a group of about 20 sight seeing. Very Close to shops and the old town with great shops. I was unhappy that it doesnt have a pool but it was a great hotel with a sabai massage studio. Rooms Are a great size with amazingly clean facilities. Prague was glorius great city for shopping jus alot of unexpected graffiti with it bein a city. Food outside the hotel isnt excellent but food inside the hotel was lovely all cooked fresh. Beautiful modern hotel all glass and marble and i would love to go back there sometime in the future..:-)

Great Location nice room

from A TripAdvisor Member
Hotel staff friendly and helpful hotel within walking distance of most of the attractions very spacious airy rooms no building work at this time and noise was not a problem.Hotel will organise one of their cars to pick you up at the airport if you email ahead. White minibuses at the airport are good but beware on the return journey they can tour the hotels for other passengers who have pre-arranged a pick up and you need to give yourself plenty of time when you arrange your own pick-up time

great hotel

from Dublin-Voyager
Just a note to recommend without reservation this hotel.
It's situated in the "josefov"(jewish district) very close to the Old Town Square and within walking distance of almost everywhere.
The rooms in this hotel are luxurious and spacious. Very clean and they have a Bar in the lobby. The breakfast is an experience..very good quality cooked breakfast as well as Fruit etc...Sets you up for the day!!
ENJOY!!

Great Hotel

from Julin
This hotel is really near Old Town Square but in a quiet area. Good size room, comfortable bed, soft pillows. Free internet access in complementary coffee lounge. Shame that they couldn't keep the coffee/tea well stocked at weekend but it did improve after several requests. Had to wait for a table on Sunday for breakfast, maybe we should have got out of bed earlier. Breakfast buffet very good. Stay spoilt by stone cutting work in basement but I suppose the work has to be done sometime

Good hotel

Good hotel, conveniently situated near the Old Town Square. A good base for Prague. I recommend the Cafe Patio (turning right when leaving the hotel) and Mama Lucys restaurant.

Brillian!

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel lived up to expectations. Great Breakfast with a huge choice and friendly staff. We had a non-smoking room on level 5. View not good but the room was large and the bathroom very comfortable. Lovely soft pillows and duvet. Weather was very warm for October so the room was hot but with tilt and turn windows it was easy to cool down.

The area around the hotel looks a bit dodgy with graffiti on the walls but I found the area very safe and we did come back late at night!

There are some good Czech restaurants nearby as well as a very good Thai, the Orange Moon, and a french bar called Chez Marcel which is only two doors down from the hotel.

Prague is a wonderful city. Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back!

My favorite hotel in Europe....

from amybatt
I've been to various countries in Europe over 20 times, and this is, hands down, my favorite hotel. The location is excellent, a very quiet square off Old Town Square. Very convenient to run back to the hotel to drop off shopping, pick up forgotten items, etc. It is warmly furnished and very welcoming. The breakfast is very robust, the best I've had in Europe and enough to last you until dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and it is one of the only times that hotel noise has NOT woken me during the night. There is free internet access in a lounge where coffee and snacks are served all day (bring your log-on information for your home account, so many people thought they were able to use the hotel's account, which is incorrect) I can't say enough about the Maximillian. My only complaint is the bed only had a duvet (no sheet/blanket) which is standard but too warm for October. Otherwise, I'd go back to Prague and the Maximillian in a minute!

Terrific small hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I recentlystayed a week(9/26-10/3/04) at this hotel with my mom. We have both traveled a lot and we were extremely pleased with the great location, professional staff and excellent breakfast included with our stay. The hotel & breakfast-only dining room were immaculate. You could not pick a more ideal location for visiting the famous sights of Prague. The hotel also does direct ticket sales for the opera and theaters so you can get great seats for shows at the last minute as a lot of season ticket holders turn in seats which become available. I was extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised with this hotel.

In the heart of Prague

from geordy
Just spent 3 nites at this hotel after 7 nites in Paris. Took the Cedex mini van service from the airport, a great deal! Was thrilled with the hotel, the room was large, the bathroom fabulous)large tub with shower, arrractive furnishings, and cloud-like bedding! This would have been triple the price in Paris! As the other reviews report, great location ("a short walk to the old town square" is really true!, friendly staff, great breakfast'''GO!

Superb Location

from felixandmaddie
We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night break at the Maximilian. The location is perfect, in a quiet street (opposite a church - with no bells!) and a 5 minute stroll to the Old Town Square. Really close to loads of great restaurants and Dahab, a Moroccan style tea house/bar. Tretters (super swanky cocktails) is also a 2 minute stumble back!
Breakfast was HUGE, with a good selection. The room was clean and comfortable.
We had been recommended the hotel by friends and will be going on to recommend it to anyone else planning a trip to Prague.

Great Hotel

Top Local Tips for Prague

Use it! The public transport system is very good and runs on time and is very cheap!

Marionette theatre The Czechs are known for their superb puppet making. It's worthwhile to attend a marionette theatre performance while you're in town. It's a unique experience and quite entertaining (tho, once was enough for me!).

Great Restaurants My favorite restaurants while I was there was the Au Gourmand - near the old town square. It was a French Boulangerie and I am a sweet tooth. Chez Marcel was also fantastic. Food was relatively inexpensive and there were lots of great places to eat. Czech food is a little on the heavy side so I did not have any of it - lot of pork.
