Good location by river. Easy to get to/from local sights. Breakfast was an excellent start to our day. Staff very Customer focussed.
Will recommend hotel to our friends.

Excellent Hotel

The Riverside Hotel is the best hotel I have stayed in. I was there from 14-17 July in a Standard Riverside view room.

As has been mentioned, the standard rooms are small. But the quality is so high that this just does not matter.

The highlights of the hotel:

The bathroom is excellent - it even has under floor heating.

The windows are quad-glazed. The hotel is on a busy road but you never realise it!

The staff are superb. Very helpful and polite. They all seem to be able to speak English, Czech, French, Spanish, Italian and German. Amazing.

Breakfast is very good. A large choice of freshly squeezed juices, cerials, breads, friut, pastries, cheese, meats etc,etc. They also offer to cook you fresh bacon and eggs.

It's about a 30 minute walk from the centre of the 'Old Town'.

The hotel will arrange for their car to pick you up or take you to the airport for 850Kr (about £20). A cheaper option is to ask them to send a AAA Taxi. This will cost about 400Kr (under £10). Only use AAA taxis or you may get ripped off.

One more hint if travelling from the UK. Take your £s and change them in Prague city centre. They usually offer 0% commision and a better rate than in the UK (about 42.5 in the UK, 45.5 in Prague).

Great Hotel

This is simply a lovely hotel, the rooms are very nice although not huge by some people's standards. The bathrooms are excellent and all fabrics, paint, carpets etc. throughout the hotel are immaculate and not at all dated as is often the case.

But......the thing that differentiates this hotel is the staff. On arrival you get a very helpful chat with the reception staff about what to see, what tours are good, what restaurants they recommend etc. They will book anything that you want as well. Every hotelier in London should send his staff to this hotel for training, they are that good. The quality of staff extends from the manager to the chambermaids, without any exceptions that I experienced. The are proud of their hotel and rightly so.

The breakfast buffet is the best I have seen, but they will also cook hot food for you. There isn't a restauraunt, but light snacks are available in the small bar, or as room service which is 24hrs. Breakfast can also be sent to your room for a small charge.

Be aware that the hotel is about a 20 min walk from the main sites, but is in a nice area and well worth the effort. In my opinion, look no further for a hotel in Prague, if you want 5 star standards at a fair price.

Excellent Service / Great breakfast

My wife and I stayed here recently for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. No hotel is perfect of course and we wished that it was a little closer to the city centre, although the metro station is only about a 15 minute walk and then it is two or three stops to the centre. However the ambience, service and breakfast are simply stunning. We asked reception to organise restaurant bookings and concert tickets which they did with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed Prague, watch out however for hugely variable taxi fares - best to use the hotel car which you can pre-book. Special praise for Otto the porter who is a true ambassador for his country and a real enthusiast. Note that booking via the hotel's own web site was cheapest.

Unsurpassed for the red carpet treatment

If you want the red carpet treatment, this hotel must be unsurpassed anywhere in the world. I stayed for just one day in July 2004, and the staff treated me like visiting royalty. At the same time, they managed to be quite unobtrusive so I had both wonderful service and complete privacy.
The physical environment helps -the opulent red, black marble and wrought iron, together with natural wood flooring, everything full of character, tasteful and spotlessly clean. Magnificent views over Prague, delicious food...truly a fairytale experience which will stay in my memory for a long time.

Superb Hotel

Stayed here 12-15 July 2004 and we were really impressed. The staff cannot do enough for you. They want to make your stay truly memorable. The standard room is a bit small but excellently furnished. Make sure you book a river view, it's worth it. Beware the hotel bar prices, especially the wine at 350KC a glass!
Out and about either use the hotel taxi or make sure you find a licensed AAA taxi, the one's that do not display this symbol rip off the tourists!!!
We will surely return to this wonderful city and definately stay at this first class hotel. It was superb!!

We stayed at the Riverside Hotel for 3 nights in June and loved it! The staff made us so welcome, they all spoke perfect English and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was well appointed and beautiful, so much so that our holiday photos start with a picture of the bathroom! The breakfast was fabulous. So much choice and all well cooked and served.

Just couldn't fault it and am planning to return soon with my father. Prague is a lovely city and the Riverside Hotel is the perfect place to stay.

Unforgettable Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on our honeymoon. We stayed in room 605, which was a Jr Suite. It was beautiful! It had a two person jacuzzi tub, huge space to rest.

I would stay here again in a heart beat! Not to mention the huge breakfast buffet, what a hotel!

Beautiful view

A most beautiful view over the river, and a quiet, elegant, immaculate room. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but close enough to the bus and tram lines to get everywhere you want to go. The staff spoke perfect English and all of our needs were tended to. The breakfast was included, and there was a fantastic array of goodies, as well as cooked to order eggs from especially cheerful servers. Just lovely, would certainly stay there again.

This is a lovely hotel.
Staff very helpful and friendly and on arrival when I said I did not have any change yet for a tip , for helping us with the bags , the bell boy said it was not expected.
The room was not huge but very nice overlooking the river with a small balcony lined with red geraniums.
Lots of lovely toiletries, robes and slippers.
The road outside can get very busy but with the secondary glazing there was no noise at all.
The bed was about 2 metres square and very, very comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent, everything you could ask for with eggs cooked on request to your taste.
The hotel is about 20 minutes walk to the centre which when you have been walking all day it can be a problem getting back to the centre in the evening, but saying that if you head towards the Andel shopping centre, behind the hotel ,there are a number of bars and restaurants full of locals and music.
I booked via Lastminute.com and got, what I thought was a good rate of £117 per night.

Top Local Tips for Prague

A night at the opera Go to see La Traviata in the National Theatre. It is simply breathtaking!

Palffy Palace Restaurant Anyone going to Prague must go and have dinner at the Palffy Palace Restaurant in the Mala Strana. My boyfriend booked this restaurant as a special treat for us both and although it's more expensive than some of the restaurants in Prague, although amazing value for money - it's well worth the experience. It's very romantic, all lit by candle-light and you are treated like royalty. I would reccommend having a look at their website and booking in advance, as I'm sure it can get busy. The night at this restaurant really made my holiday!
