It is very difficult to find any fault with this hotel. Centrally located but quiet and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was good and free internet access was appreciated.

Lovely hotel, felt very at home here

What a lovely place this was. We didn't eat there much apart from breakfast but we did use the bar and we were more than pleased with our stay. It's really close to Wenceslas Square and is a good base for getting around the city. Staff were very pleasant, rooms were clean and comfy, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice Hotel/VERY Dodgy Neighborhood

We stayed 3 nights last week, and though the hotel seemed a good value, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, "scenic" Wencesalas Square presents a problem. It's the main walking route to and from the hotel, to sights, attractions and public transport and in the evening it presents an unsettling gauntlet of unattractive middle-aged hookers, and annoyingly persistent touts and shills for "cabarets" and casino/dance bars, three of which are now on the same street as this once desirable hotel.

A walk home through the square at midnight had me and a companion face a half dozen touts who simply would not take no for an answer, especially as we continued toward the hotel AND the "cabaret" they was hawking for. One literally folowed us for 5 blocks to the hotel door. Hotel management shrugged it off and suggested we ignore them. I would never stay anywhere off Wenceslas Square again. It's a shame, because the hotel and staff are fine if unconcerned about guest comfort and safety at night.

A great hotel with very friendly and helpful English speaking staff - who could wish for more. The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable and in a great location for walking around the centre of Prague.

A Must Stay

Loved this hotel. Our stay was from Nov. 14 to 21, 2004.

Rooms were a little small but very clean and comfortable. Beds were great and the bathroom was a good size. Ask for bath mats, tub very slippery. Ask for one of the rooms facing the courtyard, very quite. The rooms facing the street could get loud at night due to the "clubs".

The internet room with the free tea and espresso after a cold sightseeing day was a joy.

As many have said it is close to everything. Liked the AMEX office, and the little grocery store on the corners a few steps away.

We would definitely stay there again.

Great Hotel Experience in Prague

Spent four nights at K+K in November; good rate from internet search. All around great experience at this hotel. Location was surprisingly convenient to major Prague attractions (my first visit to Prague), with short walk to Old Town Square and fun people watching on Wencelas Square. Very close to tons of restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was surprisingly good, free internet access in lobby was a major plus, staff was very courteous and helpful. I spent 3 weeks in Eastern Europe and bed at K+K was the most comfortable of all the 4+ star hotels I stayed at. Yes there is a strip club right next door to the hotel (and reportedly the best in prague at that), but get over it! Final plus was a small but very clean and well maintained healthclub/ sauna. Only negative is goofy key entry system (you'll see if you visit), but this was a minor inconvenience. Might be able to get more "old world" ambiance at other classic hotels, but not likely to have a much better service experience at this price level in Prague. Two thumbs up!

Very nice hotel

We just returned from having spent 4 nights at the K & K Hotel Fenix. This hotel has many things going for it: It has nice, clean rooms, a friendly staff & a wonderful buffet breakfast. Location is quite good but not as close to Old Town as we had thought. It's still about a 15 minute walk to get to Old Town. One word of caution: Don't get a room on the garden side. There is a parking elevator for cars there which is very noisy. We moved after one night into a much quieter courtyard room. All in all, though, a nice play to stay.

A Great Hotel

My husband and I are just back from a 3 night break in Prague. As Czech by Click (Internet Company)let us down a the last minute we did not have a hugh choice of accomodation. Therefore, we were glad the K & K Fenix Hotel was available. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean,as was the whole hotel. Excellant breakfast and staff were most obliging at all times. Having tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom was a bonus.

There are several strip clubs nearby but the door men never bothered with us. Although 10 - 15 minutes from the Old Town Square we really enjoyed the walk and the hotel's quiet location. I would have no hesitation in recommending the K& K Fenix to anyone.

We stayed here on our honeymoon this summer. Staff were efficient, approachable, and the breakfast buffet fantastic!
The room was light, spacious and good air conditioning.
A very central location with lots of style. Excellent internet access too.

Great Hotel

Stayed at this hotel 14th to 19th August and have no hesitation in recommending it. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean and the breakfast buffet is fantastic. No problem at all with nearby clubs.

Excellent all round hotel

Just returned from 4 night stay at Hotel Fenix (22nd to 26th August 2004). Very impressed. Great location, very helpful staff, clean and comfortable room.
Breakfast sets you up for the day.
Cabaret club next door no problem.

Well worth staying here

Stayed here for 4 nights. Really an Excellent hotel, Good location dispite the neighbouring strip clubs (don't let them put you off), friendly helpful staff, clean quiet rooms with air conditioning, a blessing in the summer. The buffet breakfast was good with both cold and hot selection.

Would not hesitate in staying here again and recommending it to anyone.

A first class hotel

Stayed here for three nights this summer and I could not fault this hotel.
The hotel staff are excellent and speak very good English which was great because my czech is limited to 'Pivo.' The rooms are large, modern and look like they have been decorated very recently. They also have A/C which is essential during the Summer.
The location is only one minute from Wenceslas Square which is full of cosmopolitan cafes and bars.
Some people may be put off by the strip club next door but the staff there tended to remember your face and didn't hassle you every time you walked past.
Basically, next time I'm in prague, I'll be staying at the Fenix!!!

Top Local Tips for Prague

Kampa Park Would recommend the Kampa Park for fine dining - the food was absolutely excellent, if not a little pricey! There are two wine lists, make sure you see both of them.

small hideaways Around new years the whole city is packed so look out for hidden away venues - in some of the arcades there are small nightclubs, cafe's or bars hidden away attracting only small numbers of visitors and every one of these that we found had an awesome atmosphere. An example (if you can find it!) is JOE KAFE which is a nightclub/cocktail bar at the end of an arcade off winceslass square, about halfway along the opposite side from the hotel (although upstairs you must tolerate the soft-porn they keep running). Even amongst the crowd we still managed to be the only people in a large cafe in an arcade directly across from the All Colors Theater!.

Jewish Quarter Walking Tour Take a walking tour in the Jewish Quarter, it might be expensive, but you will enjoy it and get value for money.
