Great hotel on a budget
3 of us stayed here in a triple room for 2 nights. First impression - The hotel was very clean and looked much posher than we expected. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room at the front on the main road. You could hear the traffic and the trams but it wasn't bad enough to ruin our stay. The buffet breakast was the typical cereal, bread, cakes, egg and cheese but was very nice. Was a bit out of the centre but the no.18 tram runs from outside the hotel to Tesco which is in the centre close to Wenceslas Square. Would definitely stay here again.

Almost perfect
My late husband and I stayed several times at the Union. A beautiful building, nicely modernised though the rooms vary somewhat in quality. Although light sleepers may be affected by traffic noise in the front bedrooms the back is utterly peaceful. The staff are invariably helpful and charming and I would have given 9 marks if the breakfast coffee were better.
