Trully Great small hotel

from smith_puzzle
We stayed in this hotel in June 2006. Great location in the centre of the city. Hotel is more or less like your home. Thanks to the staff that made our stay enjoyable and memorable. We had booked in Hradcany suite /overlooking the Prague Castlle/ . Be sure you check the website of the hotel with the virtual tour of the rooms so you can pick up the one you like. We asked the staff during the stay if we could see other rooms as well just to know if the pictures reflex the reality and yes, it does. Be sure you reserve one dinner at their Alchemist Restaurant. It has the WOW factor. We also checked their newly opened hideway garden with the BEACH in front of the hotel entrance..... trully great holiday

Loved the Nosticova

from MJosephOH
We stayed at the Nosticova for 2 nights at the beginning of April and loved it. The hotel is tucked away on a very quiet side street about a minutes walk from the Kampa, about 3-4 minutes to the stairs leading up to the Charles Bridge. It was nice to get away from the crowds and noise of the Old Town.

We stayed in the Arcimboldo Suite and it was great. You can see why they feature it on their brochures and website. It was very clean and comfortable, and the satellite TV with several channels in English was a nice feature. We also took advantage of their “last minute deals’ and got the room for about 140 Euro per night

The staff was very friendly and attentive and they went out of their way to get the room ready for us early when we showed up at 8 in the morning after taking the night train from Krakow.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant but did check it out and it looked really nice, with some good Italian dishes on the menu.

Overall it was a great experience, and it is very evident why celebrities such as Sean Connery and Johnny Depp stay at the Nosticova.

Fantastic place to stay

from Duhki
We stayed at the Residence Nosticova in February 2006 for our honeymoon and we could not have been more satisfied. Our room (Casanova suite) was exactly as it appeared on the website. Actually, it was even nicer. It was lovely and decorated very nicely. There was a working fireplace (and upon check-in the staff offered to bring up fresh wood). We never used the fireplace though as the room stayed nice and warm without it. The room was very spacious with a nice sitting area, a dining table and small kitchen area, a nice-size bathroom, and great bedroom.

There was nothing we wanted that was not provided. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful from picking us up and dropping us off at the airport, taking us to and from the opera, recommending restaurants, etc. They all speak very good English and go out of their way to please you.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is in a nice, quiet area of Mala Strana near the embassy buildings. We felt very safe walking around even at late hours. You are a five minute walk to Charles Bridge (castle side) and close enough to walk to almost anything including Old Town Square, Joseph, etc. And, there is a great little market less than five minutes away as well as a very convenient tram stop for #12 and #13 which can be caught from stops all over the city.

If you ask me, there is not a better place to stay in Prague. Oh, and I didn't even mention that their restaurant, Alchemyst Restaurant, is fabulous. A little over the top with the decorating, but the food was amazing. Best meal I had in Prague (better than Kampa Park) -- we ate and drank for over three hours!

What else can I say -- Nosticova is fantastic and I just can't find a negative thing to say.

An absolute jewel...

We just returned from a trip to Europe that included a 4 night stay at the Nosticova. I can only say wonderful things about the Hotel. We have travelled to Prague before and now would not even consider staying anywhere else. The location can not be beat---VERY central but on a quiet street. The room was lovely (we had booked one of the suites), and the staff could not have been more charming and helpful. Our room had a fireplace and one night we were having friends in so they sent us up wood and candles to help us entertain. It was truly magical. From that night on they sent us up a fresh bundle of wood and new candles, we felt VERY pampered. The breakfast is very nice and served in the Alchymist Restaurant that is connected to the Hotel. We only ate one dinner at the resturant, it is VERY fun and charming and would reccomend an evening there. My only words of caution are this---don't even consider getting a taxi that the Hotel has not arranged for you. They are wonderful about picking you up and taking you anywhere you need to go. The taxi drivers in Prague have earned their reputations as crooks, and should be avoided. I visited the Spa at their sister Hotel, The Alchymist and it was VERY disappointing. By the end of it I felt like they should have paid me, instead of the other way around, for the experience that they SO obviously needed. Maybe they are just working out the kinks (it is new) but I can't imagine they can get to where they need to be to compare to the quality of spas and services that are available.
Aside from that I can highly recommend this Hotel to anyone---it will only exceed your expectations.

a lovely quiet hotel

from pinotage1
A lovely quiet hotel in a nice part of the old city 5 minutes walk from the charles bridge and many excellent restaurants

Charming, perfectly located and romatic hotel

from erntravels
We just got back from our first (6 day) visit to Prague and had decided to rent an apartment there rather than stay at a hotel. The Residence Nosticova met the requirements perfectly per the reviews we read on this site and what we learned on its own web site. The location is outstanding, within walking distance to all the sites, restaurants, bridges, and churches as well as the tram, bus and metro systems. The apartment was very spacious, quiet, safe, and beautifully furnished without being precious. Absolutely no sounds of neighbors; in fact, we never saw any of the other guest, probably because there are only 10 apartments and we were out early. The service is excellent. There were fresh flowers and a fruit bowl on our arrival and fresh flowers in the middle of our stay. We used the kitchen mainly to fix morning and midday tea, but could have cooked reasonably simple meals with the implements and pans. To us, the cost for the extra space and for housekeeping were well worth it. We cannot speak to the breakfast or dinner at the restaurant, but it is listed in several guides. Although the suite/apartment could have slept four (using the foldaway bed in the livingroom, we would not recommend this arrangement. The whole environment is perfect for a romantic stay for two.

Amazing, unbelievable ......

from goinandout
I could not belive that this kind of places exists. In fact it was even better. In the little street walking distance from Charles Bridge, this hotel was a great pick. First night from this 10 days trip we stayed in another so called "romantic" hotel in the center where we were not happy at all. Just by case passing by Nosticova we checked there in the next day afternoon. Happy that at least on of the suites was available.

Great Rooms furbished with style and all the staff very helpfull. Restaurant is crazy/lovely design with great food. The staff knows and talk to everybody with names, always smilling. I would definitelly recommend this for honeymooners, for special occasions and simply to everybody who wants to feel as a part of family. Hidden Tips: check their web site to see celebrities stayed in te hotel. For this occassion beside the entrance door lovely collage in the small glass, creates the smile in your face. We spot the creator of it and also of the hotel in the restaurant. Really super. I have to say that it saved our trip to Prague.

Beautiful hotel, but beware the hidden costs

from sdn123
This hotel is a quaint little place on the castle side near Kampa island. They have a wonderful restaurant on the main floor with funky atmosphere and great food. It is a bit pricy, but a great meal for a special occasion. The rooms are absolutely stunning with original artwork and crystal chandeliers. We had one of the Royal Suites, with a separate bedroom, sitting room and kitchenette (fridge, sink and stovetop). The rooms were well equipped with flat-screen televisions with satellite. The only thing lacking was air conditioning - strange for a nice place like this. They did supply fans and in the evening, the temperature was pleasant, so it wasn't really a problem. The other warning is that cleaning of the rooms is not included in the price. This was a surprise, but it did not dampen our impression of the hotel. Beautiful place!

Ideal for a romantic holiday

from A TripAdvisor Member
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a romatic stay in Prague.

Upsides:
+Good Location:
The hotel is located in a small street in the embassy quarter, i.e there's very little noise at night plus it very safe because of the many cameras.
The location is also very good for sightseeing as you can reach the most important sights by foot

+Hotel is in great shape:
The hotel and the rooms are in very good condition and the staff is very polite and helpful

+Good food, fantastic restaurant:
The food is meant to be great but I didn't get to try it out as a was too busy exploring Prague

Downsides:
-Rooms may seem quite pricy
Remedy:
If you find the prices too steep then check out athos which is a really great travel agency. Usually booking through there website will save you quite a bit of money. With some of their special offers you can save up to 50% per room per night.

Concluding I can only say that this hotel is a very safe choice for relaxed romantic holidays, business trips, family holidays, etc. However if you're young and wild and are looking for a place where night clubs are right by then go for a cheap place on the other side of the Charles bridge in the Old Town.

Tip:
Make sure to check out the hotel website (------) to see which suite you want ot stay in.

Top Local Tips for Prague

Don't panic Speak to the tourist information at teh airport, showing him your address, he then teel you which Metro and trams to use and how many stops to get you there.

Prague as a Quick Get Away Easy to get to the city center from the airport. Prices are reasonable. Great attractions and fascinating history mostly within walking distance from anywhere in the city center.

Charles Bridge If you want to see Charles Bridge at its best, make sure you get there before 10 am (in the winter) ? earlier in the summer before the crowds kick in.
