We spent 3 nights at this recently refurbished hotel where the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently situated round the corner from Pavlova metro station and tram stop, therefore it is very easy to get to the main sites of Prague. We would certainly return there again.

A Fine And Relaxing Experience In A Quality Hotel

As a newcomer to making a reservation on-line I found my experience to easy and trouble free. This was my first trip to Prague with my Czech finance and I was a little weary as to what to expect. The 'Hotel Raffaello' is a fine example of a quality hotel and made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. The room was spacious and clean and the facilities were excellent as was the food. The hotel staff were more than happy to help with queries and were very knowledgeable.
All in all an excellent example of how a hotel should operate and I would highly recommend it to newcomers or regular visitors alike.

Top Local Tips for Prague

Metro You can buy a 1 day, 3 day or 5 day metro ticket - just ask at the ticket office - you only have to validate it once (at the yellow stamping machines) and then you can ride the metro / tram / bus all day every day. But remember to carry your validated tickets withy you - we got checked twice over 5 days. 1 day ticket was about £2, 3 day ticket about £5.50. Great value. Also we took a tip from one of the guide books and got on the number 22 tram - this takes you round the whole of prague - just sit on and enjoy the view, when it gets to the final stop you just get off and walk to the front where another number 22 is ready to take you all the way back again. Also the right tram for Prague Castle, Loreta etc. Great if it is drizzling and you need somewhere dry for 30 minutes or so!

deco the grand cafe was a great place to have some bubbles and admire the cubist architecture and the american bar under the municiple house theatre was full of beautiful deco design. both welll worth a visit. try and see a concert in one of the churches, a bit touristy but again it was pretty special. also we saw a band at a basement jazz club in the old town, another great way to spend a couple of hours.

Things to know when you go! Firstly, get comfy with the Metro station. Once you understand it's simple concept, you can save your feet quite a bit of walking. It's a little intimidating in the beginning because of the mass number of people that use it, but it's really not that bad. It didn't seem like anyone was paying, probably because no one was checking tickets, but I do recommend that you pay the small fee for the ride. There are little machines that you can buy the ticket out of, and they're really not that difficult to use.
