Please try to avoid this hotel.. full of Russians in characteristic sports cloths and shoes. Cold sausages for the breakfast, a new building being built opposite the hotel, which means a lot of noise. A noisy lift. Stuff lacking in basic manners, does not reply your calls after 11 pm, does not like your questions and is rude with you. A second class hotel.

I recently stayed here with my wife and daughter and although we paid about 100Euro for the room we were very disappointed. The staff is very unkind, the restaurant food is terrible, they kept telling us that they were out of certain foods and items were crossed out in pencil on menu! My daughter was told by the waiter there was no ice cream but when we escaped from the restaurant we found that the same ice cream menu was suddenly available at the bar! The breakfast was terrible, with old bread, no hot milk , so the next morning we skipped the free breakfast and rushed over to Coffee Heaven across street, more like a Starbucks. The metro is right across the street and takes about 20 min. to get to the city where you breath a sigh of relief on finally seeing the beautiful old buildings. I would not recommend this hotel at all, unless you are really tight for money, the area is terrible and it is not worth the extra money you stay staying there .

Having stayed 3 nights at the Ilf, we found the room clean and although furnished to a 3 star standard it was much better then we had imagined. The location was outside of the main area, but with trams plentiful and the underground metro literally across the road, this was not a problem! The staff were all freindly and attentive, the resteraunt was good,the bar prices were very reasonable and we were made very welcome by all the staff. I recommend this very reasonably priced hotel most highly.
