We had a great time in Prague also thanks to the very kind hotel staff. In this hotel chack in starts at 2 pm but the receptionist managed to give us a room at 11 am and he was also so kind to keep our luggage. The room was comfortable, with nice facilities. The hotel wasn't in the very centre of Prague but the tram stop is really around the corner. It is the ideal places for who likes to hang around in the city and find a comfortable bed to sleep. I would use this hotel again!

We booked and paid for a double room with bathroom. when we arrived, we were given a room with a bathroom shared with the next door room. I asked them to move us, but the very unhelpful young man at reception (completely missing the point) assured me that no one was staying in the room next door. Based on this information, we locked the bathroom and kept the key in our room, only to be woken up in the middle of the night by somone banging on the bathroom door.

The place was clean, though, and pleasant enough. Besides the unhelpful young man at reception (we asked him to recommend a place to eat and he said he didn't know any), the rest of the staff were friendly.

If you are going to Prague, I would suggest spending a few crowns extra to be closer to the city centre. Bily Lev was not too far from the centre and the public transport in Prague is excellent, but I would have preferred being closer to the action, and in a less seedy part of town. Don't forget that travel cards add to the expense of staying slightly out of town.

Taxi Always agree a price before getting in the taxi, for the same journey we were asked to pay 400ck and 200ck!!!

Railway Station Food Don't try the Ham & Cheese rolls at Holosovice station, they are not always safe. I was quite ill after eating one, it took about 1 hour to go right through my system. Of course I got ill on the train to Vienna, then spent another day very unwell.

Tram Take the trams they are clean and on time.Taxis ok if you prebook.Wear flat shoes if you intend seeing the sites on foot.The cobbled streets play havoc with your feetSightseeing
