Top Local Tips for Prague

Arriving at Prague Airport When you arrive at the Prague Airport, buy your ticket for the bus and metro into town INSIDE the airport from the Info Center. They will tell you which bus to take and then which metro to transfer to. The whole trip will cost you a couple of dollars as opposed to $40-50 in a taxi. The metro felt very safe and easy to follow, even with a suitcase dragging behind me.

cover charges Some restaurants have cover charges for bread, butter, ketchup, etc. Ask before you are seated. We didn't & the first restaurant (a hole in the wall bistro) charged us $2.50/person cover. They also charged us 19% service fee. The next restaurant charged us $.75/person cover. And for our third dinner, there was no cover charge! Bottled water & sodas cost more than beer; we brought our own water. Double check all restaurant bills - mistakes are made!!
