Myself and my Fiance stayed in the Tulip Inn last September for 4 days. We had travelled cheaply on the Jet2 and wanted a reasonably priced hotel that was close to all the amenities and attractions. We had arranged a transfer from the hotel which was great, a very nice taxi driver who had limited English but knew a few key phrases. As its about 20 minutes away we felt this was teh best way to travel and it cost us about £10 one way so not expensive. When we arrived at teh hotel it was situated at a busy road junstion, with a fly over nearby and I just thought this was going to be terrible. However inside the hotel the traffic was completely blocked out. Very curtious concierge took our bags to our room which was fantasic! Very tasteful decorated in creams and coffees (as was the whole hotel)with all teh amentities you woul expect from a 3 star hotel. However what you wouldnt expect was the excellent buffet breakfast that was provided! Everything from cereals to breads (they even had a toaster!, danishes to fruits and salads and cold meats to a full cooked breakfast! All this for only about £50 per room per night. Absolute bargain! It was also onlya 5 minute walk to Wencelas Square, about 10 minutes to the Old Town and about 20 minutes to the Castle. When we go back I will definitely be staying again it could not be faulted. I have recommended it to friends as well who are going to stay later in the year.

Comfortable

I used Trip Advisor to compare hotels on a recent trip to Europe so I feel I owe it to write a review of the hotels we stayed at. Prague Terminus is an excellent hotel and probably surpasses its 3 star ranking. The double room we had was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was almost the size of the living area. Breakfast was very good and the staff was polite and very friendly. The only downside, if there is one, would be the 10-15 minute walk to the old town but it is an easy walk and probably worth being away from the crowds. Great little pizza place around the corner from the hotel called Rustica. Very good cheap food. All in all, a great stay and I would definitly stay at this hotel again. Save a little money by visiting their website where I think you can get the best rate.

Terminus Has A Pass Grade

Stayed at the Terminus for 6 nights and again for one night after visiting other parts of the country.

Both rooms were to a good standard and clean. Suggest that you explicitly ask not to have a room next to the motorway as it can be quite noisy and takes awhile to get used too, even with the double glazing. The room we had on the other side was perfect.

Not too far from the centre of things, 10-15 minutes easy walk, and close to two train stations.

Found one the female staff a little rough but others were helpful.

Breakfast is fine by European standards but suggest that you don't get there too late and if it is bare, wait, as they usually bring more out.

Great Hotel

My husband and I and 2 friends stayed in this hotel last week for 6 nights and considering it is classed as a 3 star hotel we were delighted with it. We did our homework prior to booking and found the 15 minute walk to the centre of things was no problem at all, in fact although it's position next to a busy road and flyover could put some off we found it was not that noisy and it did not affect our sleep as we had double windows which excluded any noise and we had ground floor rooms next to the road! It's position is just 5 minutes down town but we all felt perfectly safe at any time of the day or night and it was very convenient for the railway station and trams which were easily accessible and cheap if required. The hotel staff were really helpful, the food at breakfast was unsurpassed, the rooms were clean, comfortable and in good decorative order. We had a desk and chair and a small table with two more chairs in the room and the storage facilities were very ample. A safe was available which was easy to use and programme your own security code into.We had good complimentary bathroom toiletries and tea & coffee making facilities were first rate. All in all we would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Tulip Inn-Only Okay

We stayed in this hotel for four nights after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were given a room on the top floor and were a little disappinted as there was only a sky light for a window and the double room was quite small which made us feel claustraphobic.
However the bathroom was large and included a bath and shower. In fact, the bathroom was better and more modern than the room itself!
The breakfast is very good and includes a wide selection of produce.
The location of the hotel is a bit off the beaten track and is about a half an hour walk to the Castle area. The staff are helpful and there is also a bar available.
Prague itself is a beautiful city if not overrun with British stag parties which make us Brits feel a bit embarrassed. However, they seem to come at the weekend so I recommend visiting at the beginning of the week.

My friend and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Tulip Inn and found it to be everything and more we could want from a city break hotel. Just a 5-10 minute stroll to the main attractions, we, as two women, felt quite safe walking back at night (and the bicycle rickshaws will even come out this far if you fancy a treat!). What was potentially the noisiest room (209) with the road under the window, the flyover to the side and the staircase entry to the hotel up the other side of the bedroom wall, turned out to be perfect and we slept like logs hearing no noise at all. In fact, as the first room you come to in the hotel we'd recommend it as the perfect place to stagger into after a long day's walking around the city.
Above all, the hotel was clean, modern and friendly (quite a novelty to find friendly in this city we found!), and we were most impressed to find the extras like a free safe in the room, shower AND bath, mini bar and coffee making facilities that one wouldn't normally expect to find in a hotle at this price.
TIP - MANY OF THE BOOKING AGENCIES SAID THIS HOTEL WAS FULL. WE EMAILED DIRECT AND NOT ONLY GOT AVAILABILITY BUT HALVED THE PRICE - TRY IT!

Very enjoyable stay

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights in May 2005. We came away with a very good impression of this hotel. It was very clean and the breakfast was also very good. The location was excellent, just a short walk to all attractions and close to metro station Namesti Republky. I would certainly go back there and recommend it to anyone.

We just stayed at Tulip Terminus Prague. The hotel feels new, and well appointed rooms. Larger than average. Staff was very courteous. We stayed here for 7 nights in March 2005. The location was not bad, a brief walk to Old Town Square, and metro and trains not very far away. The only complaint I had was that the beds could have had more "spring", rather hard. Rooms very clean and hotel very modern with hi speed internet in the rooms. Tried using a "calling card" from hotel, and I believe the hotel blocked this, but never followed up on it. The street in front of the hotel on the way to Old Town Square not the cleanest, but Prague is a fantastic city. A small grocery a few steps away from hotel entrance. I believe things are changing very fast there.

Very pleasant hotel, clean, lovely rooms and a very good breakfast (by hotel standards).

We were facing the main road and the noise wasn't a problem at all. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It's a short walk to the old square (about 15 mins) and very near a central tube. A good place to tour from.

Good Hotel

Stayed here in October 2004 just after it had been renovated to a pretty high standard. It is located out towards the Railway Station but only a 10 min max walk into the centre and most of the attractions. Room was large with a good and pretty cheap mini bar and a good bed. Bathroom was also good. The tea tray was a bit poor and very under stocked. I was met with a very blank look when I asked for some more milk at reception.

Basement breakfast room is smart and the breakfast is adequate. Not a bad price and a good location .

Ask the receptionist to book a taxi for you such as the "AAA company" as there is a well known taxi scam in the city and always agree a fare.

excelent 3 star hotel

Stayed in February 2005. We were a little apprehensive when we arrived and saw the hotel was near to a flyover but could not hear the noise at all in the hotel. The rooms were of an extremely high standard and wanted for nothing. We found the staff to be very helpful and polite. Would definately recommend the hotel and we will visit again. Excellent location. Ten minutes to the main attractions.

Top Local Tips for Prague

do not eat on the main square not value for money eat of the main square even if just going for coffe

Great pubs Pivnice U Kata on Radnice. Cervelho Vola on Loretanska. Golden Tiger on Husova. Coyotes in the Old Town Square for a late drink and dance. There's a great little bar up Mala Strana that I don't know the name of but it's on the left, down a few steps about 400yds after St Nicholas' Church.

Forget the car and taxi and walk it if you can The best part of Prague was getting lost (which is easy to do). We avoided taxis and cars, and all transport other than our feet. If you can just get the best pair of shoes you can and walk EVERYWHERE. There is no way you could ever plan to see this much stuff. But be prepared...we logged maybe 15 miles a day, but that gives you even more opportunities to rest in one of the many local coffe shops. Also, Rick Steve's has a great book on Prague that includes all of the big hits.
