Really enjoyed our stay in Prague. The staff at the Elite Hotel are polite and welcoming. The room was traditional, but clean and comfortable - Nice bathroom.
Good spot to explore Prague, not far from the main square. Good buffet breakfast as well. Would highly recommend.

Elite but not quite Cream of the Crop

For our three-night stay in Prague, a friend of ours recommended the Elite hotel. It looked quite modern from the outside but was apparently 14th century in origin and had undergone a recent refurbishment. We have stayed in more luxurious hotels, but this one in Ostrovni Street was in the heart of the town. The metro & tram station was just around the corner, once you'd made your way past the loitering drunks and drug-addicts there.
Breakfast was served in a small cafe at the front of the hotel. We saw the first goal of the Euro 2004 England v Croatia game in the Dog's Bollocks pub just a few doors away, surrounded by smoking, cheering Croatians. We saw the second half back at the crammed and animated hotel bar, the Ultramarine, where the beers were plentiful and the final score was 4:2 to England. We went to the hotel lobby bar for our night-cap, but it was one of those sedate places where people whisper and we didn't stay long.

Beautiful hotel,great location

We have spent 4 beautiful days at Élite hotel in Prague. The hotel has a great athmosphere, the room was originally decorated and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is situated in the city centre, just few steps from the National theatre. I will definetely come back.
Great little hotel in a beautiful city

We stayed at the Elite from 31 December for 3 nights. I really liked the hotel overall. The staff were very pleasant, the hotel had lots of character, the location was good - a very close walk to everything. The only tiny thing that was wrong was that you could hear every little noise that was going on. Our room was 203 and was very nice, overlooking the courtyard and we had no noise from the club at all. We could however hear the people next door as if they were in our room with us. Because this was a city break we were out sightseeing etc a lot of the time so it didn't bother us too much but enough to make comment on. I would return to the Elite as it is a lovely hotel but I would bring earplugs with me next time.
Good location

We stayed at the Elite for 3 nights during September. We arrived by train and then took the metro. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from the station, so great for not having to lug cases about. Our friends had stayed there a couple of months before we did and their advice was to change hotels! But, we stuck with it. Prague is fairly compact and it doesn't take long to walk from the hotel to the sights. It was a fairly traditional type hotel. We never heard any music from the club in the basement nor from the courtyard which our room overlooked. I liked the traditional decor. The room was very clean and fresh towels every day. The breakfast was good if not a bit everyman for himself. Didn't have dinner in the hotel but if you arrive late and are looking for somewhere decent to eat, there is a good bar about 30 seconds from the hotel - turn left when you come out and it's on the corner on the left in a basement. Some friends of ours came over to Prague at the same time and they stayed in 2 nearby hotels for alot less than what we paid but there didn't seem to be a big difference in quality. I would have no problem staying here again, but you might be able to get better value for money elsewhere.
A hotel you just want to like...

We stayed at the Elite Hotel in Prague Oct. 21-26, arriving with great expectations and leaving with mixed emotions. There's much to like about this hotel, but know what you're getting.
First, the hotel is vintage charming old European with many nice touches--modern bathrooms, heated towels, gorgeous painted ceilings, a charming courtyard and pleasant, English-speaking staff who really seem to care. But the negatives outweighed the positives...mainly noise and location related.
Specifically, the noisy nightclub on the lower level, noisy tiled halls that echoed footsteps and doors, noisy plumbing and a charming courtyard that one very late night was full of partiers made for several difficult nights.
As far as the room, it was nice with decent bedding. However, the "twin beds pushed together" while standard in Europe were not the "one large bed" we were promised.
Location-wise Ostrovni 32 is right off Narodni, a somewhat gritty block of New Town. It's convenient to a couple very good restaurants--try The Louvre Rest. The street is literally a stone's throw to a subway station. Translation: the character is not the same as Old Town and the hotel is NOT in Old Town as Eyewitness Travel Guide reports. It's two blocks south.
Bottom line: For the $200+ a night you can get a much better located hotel in Old Town, Jewish Quarter or the very lovely Little Quarter. So, as much as we really wanted to love this hotel we were happy to leave. If you choose to stay at the Elite make sure you know what you're getting and do not accept a room on the lower floors, lest you plan on being up a good part of the night.

Fantastic Winter Value

Perfectly central for seeing Prague on foot. Good, trendy restaurant/nightclub. Rooms not huge but loaded with character. The staff was excellent and helpful.
A sleepless night in Prague
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed at The Elite hotel in July 2004, the hotel staff were very polite and spoke very good English, breakfast was good, the Ultramarine bar was excellent value for money and the food was great. It said in our brochure that the hotel is in a quiet side road, which is true, it is in a side road, however the noise from the nightclub under the hotel and people falling out the bar kept us awake till 4o/c in the morning. Also the rooms on the website look large and flashy, these are obviously the better rooms as ours was much smaller than I had expected and was a little frayed round the edges, it was however very clean!!. Although it may not have lived up to my expectations, on the whole is was a nice little hotel, in a convenient location.
Fantastic, personable hotel
from AuntySpan
Great little hotel, full of character. Well positioned in between the river and about 10 mins walk to the Old Town Square. The staff were pleasant and unobtrusive, the rooms was great with lots of character and a great painted ceiling! It wasn't the biggest room we've been in, but it had air con and the bathroom was great. My only criticism is that the towels were a little threadbare and tatty - if you need big fluffy towels I would take your own!
Excellent Base
from Allgernon
This is an excellet small hotel close to all ammenities in Pragues Centre. The staff are friendly and curtious. The hotel has charm and appears to be built from vaulted rooms with a central courtyard. Some of the rooms are quite small, as was ours however extremely tastfuly decorated throughout with tv, mini bar etc (and air con). There are other rooms that seem much larger. Ajoining the hotel and part of the hotel is an excellent bar with a music club downstairs, the food was very cheap and to die for, overall this would be a great base for your trip to Prague.
Hotel Elite...Good Choice ! ! !
from A TripAdvisor Member
My recent experience at The Hotel Elite was a good one. Its location was excellent: in close proximity to public transportation and within easy walking distance of the major city centre squares and the Charles Bridge. Also within a few minutes walking distance we found great restaurants ( H2O and Tulip). The hotel common areas, rooms and bathrooms were immaculate and the hotel bar and adjacent restaurant/bar were great pluses. One note: rooms are generally smaller ( much so in some cases...I was with a large party that booked many rooms ) than you might anticipate, if you've seen the rooms on their website. The staff was great and I would definitely consider another stay at the Hotel Elite!
Overall A Good Choice
from A TripAdvisor Member
I visited for a three night break in March 04' with my girlfriend. The staff are friendly and efficient, and were more than happy to book restaurants, taxi's and trips etc. for us. The design and decor of the building is charming, and the location is good. The only bad point was the size of the room which was small, however reading other peoples reviews, it seems there are some big rooms and some small, so maybe you can ask before you go? Overall a good choice of hotel, I stay away a lot, and I feel this hotel should be 3 star rather than the 2 it has.
Enjoyed Trip Greatly.

I stayed there 2 nights from 25th August 2011 and to be honest I was very disappointed.
Firstly the welcome service was very poor and not professional at all and secondly the room was so small..
Also please do not leave your car the there (I mean do not leave your car keys) because they do not guarantee safety of your car. My car was scratched and the hotel could not help me with this at all. They have just ignored my claim even if my car was badly scratched there in their parking lot.
I hope my experience would give you just heads up.
