Top Local Tips for Prague
Up the towers Make sure you spend an hour or two to make the climb up one of Prague's highest vantage points - either the Catherdral Tower or Tower on the Hill (like a mini Eiffel Tower). The Cathedral Tower is situated within the castle across Charles Bridge but it IS a hard climb. Only one narrow spiral stairway to accomodate guests going both up and down so it's not for the claustrophobic or unfit. The views at the top however are breathtaking. The other option is to take the Funicular Railway up the grassy hillside (also on the Castle Side of the River) and take a short walk to the tower which you climb up and have even better views. This is not for those who don't like heights however as the majority of the climb takes part in exposed stairwells - great views though
So much to see Prague is a wonderful city to sightsee in.
Currency exchange You will probably be approached at some stage by men on the street offering you a superb exchange rate for currency. This is counterfeit money and illegal, avoid at all costs.

But... 14 of us stayed here for a weekend, and 14 found the breakfast was absolutely inedible. Now, you can't expect a perfect full English everywhere, but this was even an insult to the usual boring Eurobrek that is termed 'continental' or 'American' .
It mainly consisted of;
Grey slices of reconstituted, unidentified 'meat'
Manky budget cheese
Cheap cardboard cereal
Microwaved bacon
Cold rubber eggs
Sausages that were so low in pork content they could have been Hal-al
Watered down orange juice
No toast
This is otherwise not a bad hotel and not cheap so it came as a surprise that we were offered this [insert four letter word here]. 14 people had to find breakfast elsewhere when they'd already paid for one.
None of us would recommend this place but purely because we are shocked that anyone would serve this standard of food even to their dog, let alone paying guests. An unparallelled case of kitchen muppettry, don't go there, don't encourage them.
