Top Local Tips for Prague

Kutna Hora Kutna Hora is a little village located about an hour away from Prague (75km or so) on the train. It is a nice, pleasant little place which can be a little off-putting when you first arrive (it is a 2.5km walk to the centre from the train station and it is not exactly the most pleasant walk either) but once you get to the village it is tasteful, traditional and has lots of character. We visited in March and it was very quiet but I would imagine in Summer it will be buzzing! The best thing about Kutna Hora though lies halfway between the centre and the train stationm. The Bone Church. This is an old, crooked, lop sided church which is filled with human bones from the 14th century which have been displayed in a number of intresting ways (I won't spoil it for you). Sounds disgusting and a little macabre but it is worth a visit as it is quite amazing and very very unusual!

Airport Taxis Use official taxis when you arrive at Prague airport. We used the yellow taxis outside the terminal and were very reasonable. WARNING - Prague taxis have a reputation of ripping you off so always negotiate your price before getting in a cab.

czeck out the back streets found many resterants and bars to be very expensive,try the little ones away from the tourist areas they are half price!
