Top Local Tips for Prague

Travelcard Upon arrival at the airport you can buy a 7 day travelcard for not a lot (£5) which covers all buses, trams and the metro. It's great value even if you're only there for 3/4 days. Use the trams. Work out how they operate and jump on. They run very frequently.

Use the subway Get tckets at the closest subway station and make sure you validate them as they do have "transit police" checking and you could be fined. Use the subway; it's safe and less confusing than the tram system and faster to get around.

Getting around Public transport in Prague is very good. We used the DK eye witness guide and wre able to find our way around using the trams (grat for sightseeing) and occasionally the Metro. Get a 4 or 7 day pass as it is good value and enables you to travel on the trams,bues and metro.
