A great place to stay in Prague

We had six very good days at this boat hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful; the food was very good; the position iswithin walking distance of the main sights and there are good metro links nearby. Our only problem was a group of very noisy German students on the first night. They were partying until the middle of the night (4 a.m.)and disturbed our sleep. The msanagement dealt with the problem very well from then on. We plan to stay at the Admiral next year too.

pickpockets! it's true. they are everywhere. i wore a purse with a velcro closing loud enough to wake a 5 block area from a dead sleep after drinking for hours with noon-time traffic in the background. i didn't hear a thing as they pushed me into the subway car along with my friend and mother. they distracted us so they could get our wallets. i noticed my friend's purse wasn't hanging in front of her and asked her where her purse was. when she pulled it around, her wallet was halfway out of her purse. i didn't say anything once i noticed my wallet was gone for fear of retaliation, but those criminals were standing right there next to us. i've lived in nyc for 6 years and now i really wish i would have confronted them. maybe my instincts to keep quiet were correct. it doesn't look like prague police are going to do anymore than post a sign warning you it occurs so keep your wallet inside a zippered compartment inside a zippered purse!!!!

Martina Navratilova's choice of restaurant! I'm not kidding we passed be the "Cafe de Paris" bistro, just around the corner from Charles Bridge and saw the Tennis champ on the terrace having dinner with a couple of female friends. the next evening we decided to have dinner there -- fantastic entrecote, lovely location, wonderful staff, and perfectly affordable. The next day I beat everyone on the tennis courts... She knows her entrecote as well as her backhand smash!
