Top Local Tips for Brno

Enjoy Brno's art life I saw a performance of "Bartered bride" in original language at Janacek theatre. High quality at very reasonable rates. They also have a new musical scene playing most of the Webber musicals. If you have time for excursions - go out to Ivancice and see the museum for Adolphe Mucha, Austro-Czech artist of 1900, who made his fortune as graphic designer in Paris. He was one of the frist painters creating posters for art (Sarah Bernhardt theatre) and business (bikes, biscuits ....)

If you're looking for some quality fun There is a nice quiet bar off one of the side roads in the town square called the Beer and Wine Bar. When we went there it was a nice quiet place to talk and there was a barbershop quartet singing. The price of beer was pretty cheap there, as well. If you're looking for a little more lively place there is a bar under the St. Pete and Paul church. I don't remember the name but it started with and "M" If you walk around the church look for some stairs that lead down past a waterfall made of steps. Enter it and go downstairs. It's a restaurant and bar that has the taps at the table. You don't get to choose the beer but it keeps track of all you have drunk and projects it on a screen in the bar. You can compete with the rest of the bar if you like. Plus the food was amazing. My friends got salad that was huge and the bread had no cover charge. A rarity that we encountered.
