We stayed here as we were getting married at Paphos town hall. We stayed for 2 weeks along with around 8 others in our group. Rooms were standard but clean, staff very friendly, food reasonable. Great bargains on beer in the bar, we would always have drinks there forst off and when we came back at night. We couldn't have asked for more from our stay. The people that came for the wedding that were not staying here, wished they were as it was right in the middle of the action. All of the bars and restaurants 2 min walk, beach about 3 mins away. We are all booking to come again next year. So this is a great hotel for everyone, as my mum and dad stayed here also and loved it!!

The rooms in this hotel were just average in their fit and finish. Not perfect, but definitely clean and serviceable. What made the Nereus special was the staff. They were accomodating and kind to even the grouchiest curmudgeons. The food was excellent and the staff made great efforts to get everyone involved in special in-house activities. The clientele were generally older and pretty demanding....but the upbeat staff made heroic efforts to please and were usually quite successful.

I stayed at the Nereus hotel for three weeks in the Summer 2006. I will NOT EVER return to stay at the hotel again for many reasons, the main ones being that the rooms were in a serious need of a makeover (cracked toilet seat,cracked bathroom floor tiles,poor water pressure in taps and shower-head) the lift broke down countless times, the food was far from satisfactory, however on occassions could possibly be described as edible.The hotel bar was continually playing the same channels on television.The entertainers lacked enthusiasm. The pools were not clean.The only positive point I can make is that the majority of the staff were polite,friendly and pleasant,but does that justify the rest? Decide for yourself!!!

This is a wonderful hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. The Hotel was clean and the staff are very friendly. I can't wait to return.

Excellent location!

I have just returned from a two week stay at the Nereus Apartments and had a fantastic time. The hotel and apartments are situated very close to numerous restaurants and bars such as PapaGeorge and the Georgia Meze House. ‘Bar Street’ is barely a 5 minute walk away so the Nereus is an ideal location for those wanting to go to the clubs and bars. Despite this, I was never heard any noise coming from Bar Street during my stay which made the holiday even more enjoyable. The hotel is also close to Paphos Aquarium and the shopping precinct, which is located underneath. A small supermarket is located at the top of the road which is ideal for those self catering.
I travelled in a party of 6 and had 3 studios between us. All of the rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard. One of the rooms had a small ant problem at the start of the holiday but some ant killer soon did the job and no more problems were caused. One of the rooms had some exposed wires which could have been dangerous, especially if a child had been staying there.
Aircon is a must, particularly during July and August. This is charged at CY£2 per room per day. The card you get given with your key powers the electricity so you need to leave it in the slot to keep the aircon on during the day. I don’t think you are supposed to do this but if you’ve paid for it then why not!
The swimming pool located by the apartments is fantastic and sun beds were always readily available.
I often went to the hotel bar for lunch and they provided a good service although sometimes they were rushed off their feet and could have done with an extra member of staff or two. As I was self catering I only went to dinner at the hotel once and this was a bad experience. Dinner is served until 9.30 so at 9pm we went to dinner and after having our plated slammed on the table; we were forced to eat our starter and main course together after repeatedly being told it was ‘nearly time to clear up’.
The hotel offers many trips and I recommend Stevies Jeep Safari as a must! This was an excellent day out up the Troodos Mountains in a Jeep with Christos, who has lived in Cyprus all his life, so knows the area very well. This is a popular Jeep ride for many companies and I am glad I booked with this one as we witnessed other Jeeps driven by young English men racing and overtaking each other, especially dangerous on mountain edges and not taking the time to look at the spectacular view.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Made the mistake of opting for two weeks in a supposedly 3* hotel when we should have gone for one week in a 5*! Clear on arrival that the location was more suited to Agia Napa - tattoos and body piercings, shaven heads and England football shirts were everywhere! Dressing for dinner seemed to mean throwing on a T shirt over shorts or bikinis. Although not bad, the food was not great. This hotel may have won awards 10 years ago but it certainly won no awards for our 2 week stay, apart from the fact that the staff tried their best and were friendly and helpful. Rooms at best were basic, but the bathrooms were decidely unwholesome with mould on the shower curtain and around the bath and cracked tiles on the floor. We couldn't wait to get home!
Thank goodness for the jeep which enabled us to get away into the mountains and surrounding archeological sites which were fantastic value for money.

Great food at this hotel but rooms are VERY basic and bathrooms are shoddy at best! Check out mould on shower curtains! Only stayed because of good location.
Big problem with Thomas cook who never told us that we had been upgraded to full board (from half board) we found out off another guest when we were due to leave.
Also, you have to leave an electric card in the slot in the room if you want your Air con to stay on, hotel staff ask you to keep it on your keyring all day and just use it at night but this wont cool the room enough. Had a big row with reception and cleaner as I got back after a day out and the room was baking hot, no air con or lights- not only had she removed the card from the slot but then blamed me for loosing it!!! They were rude and took ages to provide another one.
Saying that, bar and waiting staff were fab, chef is a laugh a minute and food is amazing! Don't think it was really worth the money I paid though.

The Nereus hotel is in a perfect location. short walk to the seafront and along the harbour. Near numerous bars and tavernas. We didn't go to the hotel bar much as all the entertainment was karaoke and impersonations and we prefer traditional. This wasn't a problem as tavernas of every kind so close by.
Buses are easy to understand and use and hire cars are cheap.
All the staff were polite and always willing to help in any way and weren't put out by any questions we had.
Our room was not the most modern but cleaned daily and had air con which worked.
The hotel offers a 15 litre water bottle and dipenser for hot and cold water for only a fiver. This was excellent, saved any hassle getting water back and keeping it cold. This easily lasted the week.
The breakfast is excellent, what a choice! Fried eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, mushrooms, toast, every fruit you can think of, freshly squeezed orange juice - the list is endless and as much as you want. Perfect start to the day.
We went on Stevies off road mountain trip. Much cheaper than the tour operator and we are sure it was exactly the same trip they offer. Brilliant day out!
Look out for the third pool if you are not self catreing (thats where it's located) We found it on the last day and were gutted as the other pools weren't half as good. Ask the staff as there are no signs to it what-so-ever from inside the hotel!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. I was getting married in Paphos so i decided on a lower key hotel which i'm glad i did as family and friends travelled out to paphos and stayed at much larger hotels but everyone always met and stayed at ours. This hotel was a good base if you either wanted a quiter holiday but as we wanted both we also was in walking distance from the bars. Drink prices were a lot cheaper here than the other larger hotels so some nights we just stayed here and had a good laugh at people who were on the karoke. The rooms are fairly basic but are cleaned to a good standard. We only had breakfast here and only made it a couple of times and we had a good choice of cereals yoghurt, friut as well as english cooked breakfasts. The reception staff we very nice and nothing was too much trouble for them, the night bar staff we also good lads and if you tip them you get an odd free drink in return.
We would definatly go back to Cyprus and to this hotel.

Nice Friendly Hotel. Room service really excellent, lovely fresh sheets daily. entertainment every night. Close to all bars annd tavernas. Staff couldnt be more helpfull. Brian the scotish resturant manager remembers everyones names and he is a really nice man. Food not bad but could be served with more presentation, ie sometimes slopped on plate by a bored looking chef!.3 pools which are spotlessly clean. recommended!

stayed a week in the hotel paphos and i have to say that paphos is a loverly place specialy if ur on bender as the local bars and clubs are just round the corner from this hotel, only 2 bad sides to this holiday i wouldnt reconmend taking children below the age of 5 and there is a entertainment night on every night and me and my wife found it quite hard to settle our 1 year old daughter to a badly song verion of amarillo. The seccond down fall was we was infested with ants and waking up regualy to cheack to see if the baby was coverd in them thak god she wasnt but apart from that we had a great time and we will be going back in the near future

This was a great based holiday. The hotel was near all of the bars/restaurants and the beach/harbour. The hotel itself,was a very friendly,relaxed place. It had 3 SWIMMING POOLS, A JACUZZI, GYM, ARCADE GAMES,POOL TABLE,AND 2 SUNDECKS. If you are going half board, the food is variable from day to day. They put a notice up with what is on the menu that night. So if you dont fancy it, then tou could go out and have a meal instead. There are plenty of restaurants around to choose from. They have a happy hour on all drinks every night. The staff are very friendly, and will help if you need it. It caters for families as well. They have entertainment on every night, which is also placed on the notice board. I would go back to this hotel again, and would recommend it to everyone. If you are use to luxury then this wouldnt be your type of hotel,but if you like convenience,and a hotel which above average,then this is the place to go.
Top Local Tips for Paphos
Eating out Fantastic restaurant called" Oasen" opposite sea wall , great for lunch and dinners. Also "Georgia"for mezes and other meals-situated a short distance behind the aquarium."Pelican" is on the harbour parade and a little more expensive but they bring 2 huge pelicans through the restaurant twice a day to feed them fish outside. Great novelty for kids but don't get too close! Lovely Italian style ice creams all along harbour from stalls.Infact rest assured that you will never starve in Paphos regardless of your budget.
To hot for little ones If you have very young children go before may as it gets very hot from then onwards
Hire your car at the Nereus front desk Take a drive into the Troodos mountains. Great relief from the searing heat of the coast. Go to the top of Mount Olympus-it really is hard to believe in the heat of the summer that they have skiing here in the winter!
