Historical Traveller Reviews of Louis King Jason Hotel

from J_Family
We booked our holiday to Pahpos last minute...big mistake...

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful though the rooms were extremely basic with very noisy air conditioning. The pool was a complete disaster since it was way too small for the number of guests and was not deep enough. This resulted in it being full most of the day with people standing in the pool playing ball games i.e. no swimming possible, with which our children (9 & 6) we very dissapointed.

We stayed on an accomodation only basis so had to venture out every night crossing the dual carriage next to the hotel. The locals seem to enjoy themselves by driving as fast as possible on this road in their 'Max' Power cars...It was like staying next to the Hammersmith flyover though noisier....

Resturants in Paphos were great as long as you liked Sky sports, British Beer, British breakfast etc. We didn't, but managed to find a great Italian (near the MacDonalds) and 'The Almond Tree'.

There is no culture at all in Paphos (or Cyprus from what we could see from travelling around by rental car) It is like a large building site..we thought it may have a 'greek island' feel but were sadly mistaken.

But for the kids we would have flown out after two days...Water Park was great, about the only thing.

Bottom line if you like a hot Blackpool or Southend then Paphos would be ideal.

Nice Hotel, shame about the place

The King Jason was a really nice hotel - staff couldn't do enough for you The air con units in the rooms were noisy. There is a well stocked little shop on site - I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were in there. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was great, a lot cheaper if you book it before you go. In terms of location you do have to cross some busy roads to get to the harbour/beach/restaurants.

Didn't like Paphos a great deal. Best way to describe it is a work in progress. They have built nice appts and hotels next to a piece of litter struned barron land. Shops were 'basic' if you are looking for souvenirs/gifts.

Paphos airport was a shambles on the day we came back, apparently this is usual. We had to queue nearly an hour and a half to check in - talking to others on the flight they took 3 hrs to get checked in. When we were lucky enough to get through to the departure lounge it was nearly busting at the seems.

cyprus holiday

Stayed at the king jason in June, it has been refurbished but laminate flooring is not the best idea ours was dropping to bits near the patio doors. Have stayed here before Andreas and Maria are very helpful. Stayed half board food not as good as last time (changd the chef) If you want a lively night go out as the hotel has no entertainment at all and the bar staff are nearly asleep!!!! The background music was naff. Paphos is a lovely place down by the harbour the bus is 80 cents and gets full as the day wears on. There was a lot of kids around which suprised me at this time of year really noisy by the pool. we have been to cyprus 5 times stay at different places. the weather is guaranteed sunshine every day and its a nice place to chill.

After reading the various reviews posted my expectations were high, I wasn't disappointed. The hotel itself is basic but clean. The pool is lovely with ample beds to relax in. As previously stated the manager Andreas could not do more to welcome and help you. My partner had his golf clubs with him and Andreas sorted out the golf club for him to use. If you or your partner play golf then head to the Aprodite Hills resort - he played golf and I lay by the pool side!
It was our second time back in Pahpos and if i returned again I would def go back to the King Jason.

Great Place, Great kids club, Freindly staff

from MarkShoreham
The hotel has been exstensively refurbished and lead by a strong customer oriented manger, Andreas, who always has the finger on the pulse, whether your wine glass glass is empty or you have a squeaky door hinge. Would highly recommend.
We have two children 3 & 5 who loved the kids club that was run by enthusiastic staff and gave a great holiday for the whole family. Only a short walk from the busy town centre, well situated. Hope you have a great hoilday there as we did.

Lovely Hotel, excellent service

We stayed here in Dec 04 as a last minute deal so we didnt know what to expect really. We were very impressed with what we got. The place is comfortable well equiped clean and the staff are friendly and most speak english. The place has loads of cats wondering about which are fed by the hotel, one night we had one in our apartment all night, it just walked in and curled up on the edge of the sofa which my kids thought was great. Andreas, the manager is excellent. The second night we were there we had a terrible storm and it chucked it down all night, unfortunately our balcony drains could not cope with the water and we ended up with about 2 inchs of water lapping around our feet in the morning. Just one call to reception saw a cleaner and Andreas straight round to sort it out. We went out and on our return there was a lovely caraffe of local wine on the table along with some local jam and a couple of things for the kids. It was these little things that made the stay so good. Andreas also makes a point of speaking to everyone as he walks around, very friendly guy. This makes for a relaxing holiday in a hotel with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Going back agin this year

This year will be our fourth viait to the KJ and Andreas the most Helpful Manager anywhere in the Paphos area. We have always been treated withsmiles and Nothing is too much trouble for ANY of the staff. My partner is disabled and if it looks as if she may need help a menberof staff is always on hand for her. Andreas is more like a friend to everyone and we feel we are going 'home'for 2 weeks. This May will be my 3rd birthday in as many years at the KJ and I see no reason at 70 why I shouldn't have a few more there. Looking forward to seeing you and your staff again soon Andreas.

Nothing was too much of an effort

We stayed Dec 14 to 21st, on arrival at hotel we were made to feel completely at home, the lobby lounge area was tastefully decorated and wonderfully furnished, and also the staff could not do enough for you when you required any help, the studio we had was on the top floor, and had everything you needed, it was cleaned to a high standard and the little presents left were a wonderfull touch. It was the 6th time we had visited Cyprus, but the 1st time at King Jason and would definately return and recomend to others, the only drawback that I would mention are the cats, but then that seems to be the norm wherever you go in Cyprus.

I stayed at the king jason with my son (3yrs)and 2 friends, the public areas are fantastic, rooms well equipped, and very clean. The Manager and staff are excellent can't do enough to help. We enjoyed the location as it was near enough to the centre and harbour, with a nice walk, even with a buggy. I would most definately return. What was more special the manager was so friendly and remembered all the childrens names.

We have just returned from a fantastic 2-week holiday at this hotel. We stayed on a half-board basis and the food was fantastic - even my 9 & 7 year old kids were never disapointed by the buffet meals and staff offered to cook special kids meals if required (they never were!)
The staff and manager are soooo friendly they cannot do enough to please. Every day at about noon, bar staff serve free "slush-puppies" to everyone around the pool and bring iced towels out to refresh guests enjoying the lovely facilities.
The apartment-style rooms were clean and had air-conditioning. Maid service was 5 times per week with linen changed 3 times per week.
Every guest is made to feel special and I have come home feeling totally relaxed and pampered.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful family holiday, and would stay here again and again and again...
