We have just returned 2 weeks at this hotel. Our room on the 3rd floor was overlooking the tennis courts and the sea. We had the sun on the balcony from sunrise to midday and nice shade for the hot afternoons. We had heavy rain for the first few days in Paphos and heavy snow up in the troodos mountains but it changed to very hot by the second week. The hotel is in a great position 30 minutes stroll to the harbour or by bus every 15 minutes. The rooms are clean and a good size . The first impression of the restaurant we had at breakfast was of a works canteen, tables without tablecloths, but this was transformed for dinner at night into a top class dinning room serving a good selection of food. The Bar staff were "Excellent" very smart and polite
The animation team were active all the time with games and quizes most of the day. At night there was Show Time with music and dancing also Special Artists brought in.
The only problems were at the weekend when we had parties of locals staying and they caused problems for other guests by singing and running round until 05.00 a.m.
Our 2nd week coincidered with school holdays and as most guests were over 60, we and many others thought that this could be made into a very good Adult Only Hotel.

We have just come back from our second visit to this hotel which is excellent in most areas. The food is fabulous, the views are fabulous, the staff are helpful and pleasant. The hotel was clean and the bedroom was serviced regularly. Plenty of clean towels and bedding. Faults were fixed quickly after reporting. The only comment I would make is that the bedrooms are looking tired and could do with a makeover. We will definitely go back to the same hotel. The locals are very friendly and helpful and the island is english friendly. Everyone speaks english and even drive on the same side. We even tried car hire this time.
A wonderful holiday all around. Can't wait to go back.

We went to the hotel to get married. We were in a big group of adults and kids the wedding was handled without any problems and it was the best day ever all the staff came to see us we felt like royalty. The rest of our stay was excellent. The entertainment team were the best!

We were attending a wedding recently and stayed at the Louis Imperial Beach Hotel, Cyprus. Although I personally did not have my room ransacked, unfortunately the Bride and Groom did. There was a large amount of money and belongings taken and to say they were devasted is an understatement. However, no apologies were forthcoming from the management on duty at the hotel that evening and in fact the manager raised his voice telling our friends to keep quiet so that other holiday makers at the hotel would not hear. It was definitely an inside job with previous staff who spoke broken English, suddenly suffering from Amnesia unable to speak a word of English. Furthermore, staff entered our room approximately 3 times a day unannounced, which made it very difficult to gauge when they were going to turn up next, which is not something we have encountered elsewhere and our balcony window was forever left open wide by the cleaning staff. Overall, our very expensive holiday, turned out to be the most horrendous to date and I now have no wish to ever return to this hotel or this country again.

Room was ransacked by thieves, cash, ipod and video camera was taken. The cleaner knew the 2 people involved and although spoke to us all week could not speak English when the police turned up. The manager was totally un-interested and even suggested we had done it ourselves, even though their own maintenance guy said he saw someone trying to climb out of the window. The police promised to come back the day after with a crime report and have never appeared again and we now have even thought that they were part of the gang because there is no record of the incident anywhere. If you use this hotel please beware because it has totally ruined our holiday, and not even an apology.

I recently stayed at The Louis Imperial Beach for one week with some family members. We took three rooms in total. What would have been a lovely holiday was completely overshadowed by the theft of my digital camera from a drawer in my bedroom. Other than myself, only the hotel staff had accesss to the room. I immediately reported the theft to the staff at reception, then the Hotel Manager, and then the Police, but no attempt was made to interview any of the staff who had been in my room in my absence eg : the cleaners, mini - bar attendants etc. In fact, I got the impression that they were convinced that I had left the camera somewhere, but I can assure you that it never left the bedroom drawer. Later, the clothing in my step - daughter's room was disturbed, as if someone had been rifling through it in search of items of value. From that time we hung "Do Not Disturb" signs on our doors to keep the staff out of our rooms. I think this Hotel has a problem. I have been visiting Paphos for 20 years. This was the first time at this Hotel, and I would never stay there again.

We have stayed several times, but not in 2005, but found that on our recent stay, cutbacks appears to have taken place in that towels and linen in bedroom needed replacing, being very small and thin. Entertainment in the past has been excellent with fashion shows, jewellery, musical entertainment every evening, especially in the Fontana Bar.

Also a good number of people were taken ill including my husband, and even taken to hospital with diarrhoea and vomiting, which obviously spoilt several days out of the holiday.

We first visited this hotel on our honeymoon, some 14 years ago. Then it was a classy hotel for couples and older visitors. When we saw it had become a family hotel we had to go back with our daughter and we were not disappointed. The hotel's attention to service is second to none. I had cause to make a small complaint about the cleaning of my room and was invited to discuss the matter with the manager. When I got back to my room a fruit basket and bottle of wine were waiting as way of an apology. The food was marvelous and of such a variety that even my fussy daughter found something to eat at every sitting. The animation team were fantastic - special mention to Daniela who kept my daughter entertained at Mini Club (she named a teddy bear after her) and Mimo who was cheeky and hilarious. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Paphos is wonderful and the Imperial Beach it a great place to stay while you are there.

Great Hotel

Arrived on Wednesday 1st March and immediately offered a glass of orange juice as we checked-in. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Room was average size and bottle of wine and fruit in room to welcome us (nice touch!). Food in restaurant really good and great variety to suit all tastes.
Really liked the tea and coffee making facilities in room as I like my cuppa first thing in morning. Had taken some tea bags and long life skimmed milk with me and although we didn't use any of the well stocked fridge, kept our milk in it - no charge was made.
Every afternoon after maid had been in, a chocolate was placed on each pillow (another nice touch). Bit of a walk into the main Paphos shops and Harbour but good bus service just along from the hotel and only 70 cents each way. The only downer was the entertainment in the hotel in the evening (or lack of it). It was either the animation team with bingo every night and then maybe 'live music' but you would have thought they had pulled someone in from the street who could play and attempt to sing - it was chronic some evenings !!!!! Apart from that, great hotel, great food, staff lovely and very, very clean. Day before we left another nice touch was a jar of locally made marmalade left in room with a card thanking us for using the hotel!

Excellent Hotel

We arrived on Saturday 22nd January just after 9.00 their time, with a very smooth check in. Our room was clean and of a good standard, also there was tea and coffee facilites in our room. The only comment I have was the bed was extremely hard, I suggest to pay the extra and have a seaview room. Breakfast started from 07.00 - 10.00 and catered for everyone. Evening meal again had a selection of salads, soup, at least 6 hot dishes plus a carvery. As I work in customer care for a large catering organisation I was very impressed so much so that I introduced myself to the head chef who intern invited me into his kitchen the next morning. I discovered not only did he produce a 15 cycle menu but he uses all local produce and everything is prepared fresh the only thing that was brought in was desserts. The entertainment in the evening was good and catered for the older generation I assume in the summer this would change to appeal to a broad spectrum of guests. Staff were very friendly and recommended placed to change money. Dont book excursions with your holiday rep, Horizon were a third of the price and lots of guests rated them LOrraine very highly of the tours. I would certainly return possible in September.

Wonderful Hotel

from shozza1
this is a truely wonderful hotel, the hotel staff could not do enough for us. The Quality of the food was superb!
in the period we were there the hot tub wasnt working on the sunday night but by Monday evening it was up and running again for us to soak in after a swim in the lovely indoor warm pool.
The bedrooms were lovely and clean and to a very high standard.
The weather was not good enough to make use of the outdoor pool, but the pool and its surrounding area was kept in pristine condition.
i would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel again.

Fantastic Food

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have just returned from our first visit to Cyprus. We booked last minute and chose this hotel after reading other reviews on this website.

Although out of the main season, there were activities on 6 days out of 7 (they deserve a day off, don't they?) and entertainment in the bar every night. We didn't use these although many people did and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Normally we would shy away from booking anything other than B&B in tourist areas but the deal for half-board was too good to miss and we were well rewarded for the decision as the food was FANTASTIC! The choice and the quality of the food was excellent with probably 8 or 9 main dishes to choose from every night as well as different salad dishes, soup, fruit, carvery and a "show-dish". But the sweets were to die for! We each managed to put a few pounds on over the week despite walking 20 miles on the E4 twice and walking to Paphos town three times! The waiting staff were very pleasant, friendly and efficient.

The rooms are typical of a modern 4 star hotel but we found that a number of lightbulbs weren't working, the tv remote batteries were flat and only one pillow was provided for each of us. These were soon rectified when we completed the maintenance card. Our only disappointment was the standard of the towels which were thin and tired and rather inadequate for drying oneself.

That said, we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Good but....

from nelly_7
A week over Xmas at the Imperial was good - we were
hoping though that the Mini Club would be better
attended.Over this Xmas period probably 90% of the
guests were 6o plus - so not quite what we had in
mind for our 4 yr old.
Hotel is well run, attractive, good food and ok walk
to Harbour.

Very basic

from lawlorl
This hotel was ok very basic I certainly would not stay there again.Rooms were very poorly kept needed a complete makeover.I stayed there when I got married ,messages were never passed to me from reception. They were poor at reception when you had queries etc.The food was ok not great for either breakfast or dinner! The pool was nice and clean I belive it was newly renovated.I have seen better rooms in a travel lodge at home !

This is a great all round hotel!

Me and my family needed a break and cyprus was the chosen destination. we had already been to this hotel twice already and my parents thought the world of it. it is in an excellent location and although it is only minutes away from one of the busiest parts of town (known as the triangle which is full of bars. we particularly rate the crocodile bar for the cocktails they do.) at the hotel itself the rooms are great. the staff are friendly especially the cleaners who did our room out with birthday banners and ballonsa as it was my brothers 18th birthday. the gardens are to die for, with them leading right onto the beach, the watersports are also great. if you worried about what the hotel would be like you need not be. we are used to high standards and this met our expectations and the some more. it should be 5 star not 3 or 4!

Very Good Stay

Great hotel, very good food and plenty to do. Lots of 'funs and games' and great views of Paphos Harbour. Friendly staff and good service. 4/5

Great stay at Louis Imperial

from Pippa22cat
I went to stay in the Louis Imperial Hotel with my husband and daughter.
The hotel is clean, modern and the food is very nice.

The pool is great, especially for children as it has a good shallow end.

The animation team for entertainment were very good, however, I didn't rate the hotel's kids club for young ones, as I didn't think it was well supervised.

The hotel is situated at the rear of a small beach, which is very pebbly and is not very well used, but the pool and garden area make up for this.

The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the harbour, so it is quite a way away, but the buses are cheap and regular.

I would on the whole definitely recommend this hotel.
