We stayed at Paphos gardens hotel for 2 weeks. The bathroom was extremely poor shower didn't work, sink blocked!, bath panel falling off. We advised the staff who frankly were not interested. There was a chemical explosion at the pool, mid day the staff were putting chemicals (chlorine) into the pool when the canister exploded. The pool area was full of people and loads of children, very unsafe to carry out this activity during peak times, the hotel denied anything had happened. We will not be staying at this hotel again. I would however really recommend Paphos.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble for them especially bar staff -spiros with his beautiful smile worked hard to ensure no one was kept waiting at bar. 2 bed apartment was ok, but would book hotel room next time. The pool was a lovely place to relax, staff always on hand to take drinks orders. Nice place to eat was za zas restaurant close to hotel. Supermarket was very good, manager very friendly and helpful. Weather was very hot-great. Would definitely stay at paphos gardens again.

So called superior room - at the back of the complex overlooking the main road.
Huge room, but sparsely furnished.
2 paper thin towels - had to ask for more.
Rock hard sofa for TV watching (makes up into spare bed).
Entrance to our room in the Mimosa building reminded me of that for the municipal library.
Very tired and could do with a radical makeover.

This is the second time we have been here and it is everything you want in a holiday. Relax by the pool and enjoy being waited on constantly. The food very moreish and you can easily put on a stone in a week. Very friendly and nothing too much trouble. As I write I have been trying to book for my 3 rd visit next week. It is also very central for wlks to the harbour or old town if you have the energy.

Highly Recomended

from Claire
We stayed in a superior appartment, overlooking the smaller of the two pools. The appartments was clean and tidy. The appartment had an well equipt kitchen.

We stayed self catering, but did eat in the hotel resturant on two occasions, where there were themed nights and meal dela offers.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and can't do enough for you.

The hotel is ldeally situated a short walk from the harbour. There are many local resturants - ZaZas is highly recommended!

Can't reccommend this hotel enough. Facilities were excellent great entertainment programme. We opted for 7 days self catering and 7 half board was a good idea, theme nights for dinner indian, chinese etc. I would opt for an superior apartment with aircon we also had full cooker, dishwasher, micro, iron and ironing board, hairdryer sat tv. we had a ground floor apartment with small private garden. When we travelled our kids were 14, 6, 3 plenty for them todo and club reps were great. Resort has plenty to do there isa regular bus service which takes you to coral bay which has great beach but there also a small beach approx 600 yards from hotel. Waterpark close by which was good fun spent day there. We don't often return to resorts as we like to try different places but would go back paphos gardens in a shot.

Fantastic Hotel

We stayed in the Paphos Gardens Hotel in May 2006.
The hotel was brilliant, we had a wonderful time there. The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.

We stayed self catering, but the hotel offered a "mix & match " meal plan.. you could either have your breakfast, dinner or evening meal there for a really cheap price.
They had themed evenings so the food was always different! We had the breakfast plan, there was always a large selection to eat and they even cooked your eggs in front of you.

The only thing i would mention as a bad point , is that the hotel staff do walk around the swimming pool in the day offering to fetch you drinks and snacks, tho it's more convienent for them to do it for you, most of the time they dont bring your change back.. the take it as a tip! Which is ok, unless you have given them a note!!

The hotel is in a good location, with only a 10min walk to the harbour. The buses run every 15mins up and down the main road which you can catch at the bus stops.

Loved it!

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Paphos Gardens and we had a great holiday. We stayed in the Hotel on a B&B basis, which we found great because our time was our own for the whole of the day. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Paphos Gardens is in a relatively quiet area and would be most suited to couples and families. There is lots of entertainment to keep kids occupied and the hotel has lovely large swimming pools. Our only complaint would be that hotel staff did not make any efforts to stop people putting towels on sunbeds - the result of this was that unless you arrived by the pool by the crack of dawn there was no where left to relax.

The complex is perfectly situated to reach everything you will want to see. The beach is a 5 minute walk (a nice sandy one, which is great as most of the beaches in Paphos are rocky), there is an excellent waterpark within walking distance and it is about a 10 min walk to the harbour area. Paphos itself can be overpriced and commercial, but there are many tours of the surrounding areas on offer that can take you away from all that!

The road leading to Paphos Gardens seemed to have the best restaurants around - we were very lucky! We would recommend Zimbazi for great grills and steaks and Michaels for a lovely Cypriot Meze. Our favourite place to eat was also on the same road and is called Ano Kato - this is a Greek and Cypriot restaurant run by locals, with beautiful local dishes and amazingly, is half the price of anywhere else around.

One warning - stay away from the people on the street offering you scratch cards. They tell you that you have won a great prize, then bring you to a local hotel so you can claim it and then you are subjected to a sales pitch (on a time share deal) that lasts nearly 2 hours. Unless you are interested in such a deal, stay well away! Unfortunately we fell for this on our first day, and many other couples did too!

However, we had a wonderful holiday in Paphos, soaking up glorious weather and seeing al the sites (don't miss the mosaics just off to the right of the harbour area). We would definitely recommend Paphos and Paphos Gardens to anyone.

Mixed feelings

from TTfan
We went to the Paphos Gardens apartments in April 2006. We were delayed at Glasgow airport for 24 hours so it was not the best start to the week's holiday. When we arrived we were tired and weary but we were horrified when we were shown to the Apartment 210 Azalea. Itwas dirty, with tired 1970's decor, no bath - we needed a bath for our little one-and the 3rd bed was no more than a small camp bed - despite having paid a hefty under occupancy supplement-how they thought an adult could sleep on this I have no idea. Having read reviews of the hotel in Tripadvisor before we travelled we knew that there were nicer apartments in this compkex, so we trailed back to the reception and requested a move to a nicer apartment . The second one we were shown had a 3rd bed which was no more than a padded board!! In the end we paid a hefty supplement to upgrade to a 2 bedroomed apartment which had a proper 3rd bed. The Jasmine apartments were great - clean , good facilitiues, large lounge area and even BBC 1 on the TV. However we had no towels for 3 days despite many requsts and they were only changed once in the week we were there. The hotel is being refurbished at the moment and there was noise and a strong smell of paint. The hotel is in a good location - just a short stroll from a sandy and clean beach and a liitle further to the Harbour and the castle.
If you are going here for your hols - make sure you have a 2 bedroomed apartment that has been upgraded and you will have a great time

Just came back from Paphos, enjoyed staying in this hotel, the staff were friendly, food was very good. Would definately go back again.

winter break

from johnpeg.
we stayed in apartment 202 in the ibiscus block, which had been recently refurbished to a good standard, we overlooked the smaller pool, the pool bar was closed as expected, so we had the area pretty much to ourselves. the cleaning was the usual minimal in the apartment.. we enjoyed the hotel lounge area, and the reception were always helpful. we had a gift of wine and fruit, after our electrics failed one night.most of the local restaurants were closed for the winter, but we were able to have a few nice meals on the coast road towards the harbour. it is hard to imagine the beach in summer, our one venture there was through a dirty alley and glass ridden carpark.cats could be a problem. local transport was frequent and cheap.

First Time

from A TripAdvisor Member
As first time visitors to the island we did not know what to expect. On arrival we were greeted with the problem that RCI did not send the appropriate paperwork to the Hotel, we could have been anybody! but that was not a problem to the staff. They set us up in one of the studio apartments for the night - they also carried our suitcases to the room! The following morning all was put right and we transferred to our 1 bed apartment . We really enjoy our stay albiet for only 7 days. We would return here without any concern. As time share owners we have stayed in 5* accomodation and they did not meet the standards of Paphos Gardens. I would rate this at least 4* and recommend this location/hotel to anyone considering a holiday in the Paphos area.

A floral delight

from Berkshiremum
We had a thorougly enjoyable two-week family holiday at Paphos Gardens in the last two weeks of August. Paphos Gardens is a very pleasant hotel and apartment complex consisting of a number of low-rise (maximum three-storeys) apartment blocks and the main hotel block which is where all the entertainment takes place. The grounds are very well maintained and are filled with beautiful mature shrubs and flowers. We stayed in a two-bedroom superior apartment (Mimosa 106) on the ground floor. The apartment was very spacious and ideal for our family of four. There was laminate flooring throughout and a fully tiled bathroom with a bath and shower attachment. There was air-conditioning in the main room and in both bedrooms too. In the kitchen area we had a full-size cooker, a kettle, a toaster and a microwave. We only had to pay extra to use the safety deposit box. We even had BBC1 on the TV! The only grumble is that our telephone was not working for the entire two weeks and there were not enough hangers in the wardrobes. There are a few feral cats in the hotel grounds and one insisted on paying us a visit every day. He was a bit of a nuisance until he got some food but we had become quite fond of him by the end of our stay.

The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools. The main pool by the hotel is taken up for much of the day with games such as water polo and water volleyball. We preferred the second pool which was quieter and also nearer to our apartment. There were ample sunbeds but on a couple of days during our stay the pool did get quite busy at peak times.

The hotel has a full entertainment programme every evening with children's discos, karaoke, etc, but as the apartment blocks are well spread out you can steer well clear of it all if that is what you prefer (like us!). We did however enjoy the hypnotist's show one Sunday evening. There are a couple of computers and games consoles near reception but this area was always very busy. The one time we did use the computer we found that the internet connection was unbelievably slow.

Paphos Gardens is ideally located for exploring the town and the surrounding area. There are a number of very good restaurants just round the corner. Our favourites were Ano Kato (a Greek Cypriot tavern) and Zazas (continental-style cuisine), where the waiter entertains the guests with his table-lifting and glass-balancing skills. The restaurant's rabbit is wheeled out in his pushchair to entertain the children. We also had an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant called Rimini in the triangle area near the Paphos Amathus Hotel. Rimini's chocolate gateau is highly recommended! You can walk to the harbour area in about 15 minutes in the evening or take one of the regular buses in the heat of the day. The Water Park is a short bus or taxi ride away and was great fun. We hired a car for three days which was an excellent way of seeing some more of the island.

We originally booked our holiday with Airtours in January as they were offering a very good deal at the time. However this proved to be a disaster as in April they notified us that our holiday had been moved forwards by four days. They'd also changed our flight times and given us a red-eye return flight at 4.00 am. We decided to cancel the Airtours holiday and fortunately managed to rebook with Expedia. We booked our flights (Excel Airways), accommodation and taxi transfers with Expedia and were very pleased with the service. Our rep, Marika, was very helpful and arranged the car hire for us. We hope to go back to Cyprus one day and would happily stay at the Paphos Gardens again.
