Not great

from YorkLass
Kefalos Beach Tourist Village is located at the end of a main road into the Paphos harbor. It is about a 10 minute walk to restaurants, local shops, etc. however, the small sundry store at the hotel has most of the things you may have forgotten to pack.

We found the front desk staff at KBTV to lack in customer service. When asked where we could store our baggage until after breakfast when we were checking out, we were pointed to the unattended luggage room down the hall. The room is not easily seen from the front desk nor did anyone attempt to help us manage our bags. We also reported a dripping air conditioner during our stay but no one came to repair it. We ended up putting towels on the floor to soak up the water.

The rooms are adequate though not luxurious by any means. They are cleaned daily but fresh towels and new bars of soap are apparently not replenished unless you ask for them.

Paphos is a lovely city with friendly people. When selecting a hotel, you won't have to look hard to find one better than Kefalos Beach Tourist Village.

Great choice of accommodation

from MARKSPARK
Just returned from Kefalos Beach with Family of 4
on reading one of latest reviews which gave a poor rating found this not to be the case.
With 11 month old was initially concerned but upon arrival found the accommodation ideal for a self catering holiday. Staff and entertainers were friendly, rooms were cleaned every day and weather was fantastic. We upgraded to breakfast at 2.75 each and only 1.00 for my 8 year old.
Beach not the best but not many are in Cyprus anyway but felt more like a holiday with views of the med while at pool.
Worth a visit to Fat Mamas Restaurant at top of road.
Had no complaints whatsoever and would recommend a stay particularly out of peak season as we did,.

Loved Corallo

We ate out every night going into Paphos several times, the entertainment was excellent and started around 9.30ish. In Coral Bay, Corallo Restaurant was our favour Restaurant!

Fantastic holiday with great entertainment

from TheFerrets
Just returned after a 2 week stay over Easter, this was the best holiday my family has ever had. We have 2 teenage children(16 & 15) and found plenty to see and do. The daytime sports and activities provided by Mel and Leighton of 4Front Entertainment were varied and highly enjoyable. Such events as 5 a side football, basketball, volleyball, water polo, football tennis, rounders and hockey helped us burn off a few calories from the night before. All age groups were encouraged to take part(there was a kids club early in the day) and all sports were played in a great spirit. Mel & Leighton also provided evening entertainment in the Pool bar such as quiz's, talent shows, dance competitions, karaoke and much more. We are not normally inclined to join in group activities on holiday but found this blend of fun and variety irresistible. The apartments were well equipped and functional with maid service every day, the hotel itself was well run with all staff very helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a weekly varied menu, we also ate out at local Tavernas enjoying Meze's and other Cypriot dishes(my family are massive Halloumi converts). We organised our own transfers, a taxi for £20Cyp was nice and convienient, if you need a hire car go to the Queen Vic pub around the corner and ask for Simon, good rates £10-12 a day and no fuss. All in all an excellent place to stay and a good base to explore the Island

Disappointed with this hotel

from lexad
This was our first time to Cyprus and to this hotel. I read so many good reviews that I was excited to go. Frankly, we were very disappointed in the hotel. Our first room was very musty and old. There were mold stains in the bathroom and my allergies started acting up right away. We asked to be switched and the next room didn't have a phone. Apparently, the phone service was out of order so they had to switch us a 3rd time. The 3rd room was OK, not great. The towels are old (I big and 1 small per person) and a few times they came and didn't even replace them.
The beach was a disappointment there. It is not a swimming beach, as it has rocks and looks trecherous. Not one person verntured in there during our stay. Also, what was really surprising was that they do not provide beach towels. Obviously, most people knew this because they had brought there own, but we did not. I had never been to a beach resort that didn't provide towels.
There was some good things-the breakfast was OK, decent selection of foods. The shop outside the lobby was good and fairly reasonable. The pool side bar had decent food. The other starnge thing was they had signs at the pool that you could not bring food or drink to the pool from the outside. We had some bottled water and snacks and I was actually nervous when I drank/eat for fear I was going to get reprimanded. Strange.
So obviously, I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Just the same 4 years on

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed at Kefalos March/April 2006 for 14 days, some 4 years after first staying there. Clean and tidy public rooms and restaurant, good breakfast but same food every day, friendly and helpful staff. However, the studio appartment left much to be desired, tired and jaded. No decoration in the last 4 years, grimey floors, damp in the walls, altogether jaded and in need of general refurbishment and a fresh coat of paint. The rugs on the floor could have been those from our previous visit, the white (?) towels were (very) grey from so many washings. Come on Kefalos, you can do better!

Kefalos Beach Hotel and the San Marino restaurnant

from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I have just returned from 1 weeks bed and breakfast at the Kefalos Beach and what a lovely week it was. The location was marvellous added with the fact that the hotel is located on the beach. A twenty five minute walk to the main resort of Paphos and its busy little harbour makes a good reason to walk off a good breakfast.
The quality of accomodation was excellant, and cleaned on a daily basis, and the grounds superbly maintained.
If travelling to the Kefalos on a B&B basis and you wish to upgrade to half board do so there. Buy 4 evening meals and get one free.
If you choose to eat out visit the little restaurant of San Marino on the Tombs of the Kings Road and just five minutes walk from the hotel. Tony will invite you in for a free drink. Watch then the quality and portions of very good food coming to the tables overseen by Eleny. I assure you you will return, the food was lovely and plentiful. The staff were great and very attentive.
All in all a great chill week

very nice

from josell
stayed at kefalos beach for a week feb half term, myself,my husband,8year old autistic daughter and 10 year old nephew, staying half-board.arrived at hotel about 9pm,welcomed by reception, advised to leave luggage with them and go down to dinner as stopped serving at 9.30pm.got a wonderful welcome from the restaurant staff as soon as we walked in.they made a real fuss of the kids, our daughter is a real character!
after dinner went up to the 1 bedroom apartment which was fine, plenty of room for the 4 of us,nice balcony overlooking the sea.didn't use the outdoor pool as it was too cold even when the kids had their wetsuits on,but made good use of the warm indoor pool.
hotel is just 10mins from the tombs of the kings which we enjoyed exploring as a family, and half an hour slow walk through the world heritage centre(again fun exploring and lots of space to run off extra energy) to the harbour where we had several nice meals.hotel feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but just 5mins walk to main road where lots of bars, restaurants and shops.we had a great family holiday here, george, the barman, was fantastic with the kids letting them make their own cocktails and have a good look round behind the bar.the kids thought this was GREAT!
we went on one trip which we arranged at the harbour- the fun bus- and,my goodness,it was fun, gary the driver/all-round entertainer was a brilliant character, the ride up to the adonis falls was a bit hairy(mountain roads in a big yellow bedford bus!),but it all added to the excitement! it was a bit pricey(£100 for the 4 of us),but i would say it was well worth it.
all in all we had a great week at the kefalos beach and would definitely return out of high season, don't think we'd want to be there when it's full as it would be extremely busy.

Really nice accommodation

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Kefalos Beach over the new year having booked directy with them. Our accommodation was very good, clean and beach front as we'd requested. We had a 3 bedroom 'apartment' complete with living room, kitchen, downstairs shower room and upstairs bathroom with a sporadic jacuzzi bath.

We went half board but it may be cheaper to upgrade from room only to half board while you're there as they do a buy 4 nights of evening meals get one free offer. The food was generally good, lots of variety on the main courses although the starters and desserts did get a bit samey and the selection of vegetables always included carrots!

A walk 10 mins in one direction from the beach takes you to the Tomb of the Kings and a 30 min very pleasant walk in the other direction takes you to the harbour, via the back door to the archeological sites and mosaics which are well worth a visit. Just one word of warning there are touts all along the harbour who target English visitors to sell time shares though they swear blind that they are not doing so. They give scratch cards to children so that they get excited about winning a prize and go on from there.

Reception at the hotel is very helpful, you can rent a lock for the room safes for about £5. The exchange rates in Paphos are much better than in the UK and are commission free.

If we were going back to Paphos we would stay at the Kefalos again and having seen the other more 'touristy' end of Paphos this was, in our opinion, at the nicer end of town.

Great base to explore

from Richtravels
We stayed at this resort on a bed and breakfast basis. Food excellent - buffet style, eat as much as you can!
Resort very clean, rooms tidy and functional. Kitchen facilities good enough to cook in the evenings everything from roast chicken to chilli.
Locale very pleasant and service/demeanour of staff very good.
If you are lokking for luxury then spend more and go somewhere else. If you want a great base, comfortable surroundings and a good value for money resort then stay here.
