We returned on 17th May 2009 after probably one the best holidays we have ever had. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a superior room with a sea view. The carpets and decor could do with updating. Our room was cleaned every day and each day they provided clean bed linen and towels.The breakfasts were excellent with loads of choice. The dinners were also very good. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked to stay again for a further 2 weeks from the 5th September. Booking a superior room is very well worth the extra.

We have just returned from a 4 week holiday at the hotel dionysos and would like to warn anyone thinking of booking to consider very carefully. We were surprised at the number of steps at the hotel. There were quite a number to access the hotel and inside there were steps everywhere and not a ramp or handrail in sight. We had paid a supplement to upgrade to a pool view room but when we saw the room it was very shabby so we upgraded again to a superior room. The room was better but the bathroom was awful, black in the grout and it was so tiny that when we sat on the toilet our knees touched the wall. The room & bathroom were very dirty especially the bathroom floor behind the toilet & washbasin & the wooden panels in the bedroom, everywhere was covered with a layer of dust. I bought dettol wipes & cleaned the room myself frequently as it was never cleaned thoroughly in 28 days.The public rooms were very cold, only one small bar seating 20 people being heated in the evening. The pool was very dirty no one could use it. Cats were allowing in the hotel overnight I saw them on the dining room chairs early morning and the smell of cat spray was terrible at times.The only thing this hotel has going for it is its position to the front but at the moment the front is a building site & closed so to get to the harbour you have to negotiate round the very high kerbs, broken pavements, pieces of metal left sticking up & cars parked on the pavements. There is no entertainment at all. The food is reasonable and we met some fantastic people. But I would not recommend anyone to go.
