Damon does it again!

from wouldgoback2morrow
Once again Paphos provides the perfect holiday location. Exceptionally hot weather, friendly people and good food helped make a great holiday, as before, we stayed at the Damon Appts, which cannot be faulted for cleanliness, friendliness or comfort, it offers the ideal base for a busy holiday, central for everything you need. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and facilities are excellent, we will certainly be back next year.

Excellent choice

from mum29
Having experienced a range of self-catering accommodation in Paphos, I can highly recommend the Damon. The apartments are spacious, comfortable, well equipped and cleaned regularly. All the staff are friendly and helpful, particularly those in reception, who will answer all queries and help with any problems.
The pool area and gardens are clean and well maintained.
The supermarket is on site, so you know you will be able to get essential supplies easily. The breakfast buffet is to be recommended for good value.
The Damon is situated close to numerous bars, restaurants and takeaways. The bus stops are just around the corner for trips to the old town marker or the harbour, both of which are walkable in 20 minutes or so.
Yes...............I am returning again this year!

value for money

from glothorn
just back from one week self catering at Damon, booked only a week before and got a real bargain. was listed as 3/4 star but realistically is only 2 star by british standards.
Very friendly helpful reception staff, rooms basic but clean and all necessary facilities there.
More suited to families than couples like us but had free use of fantastic sister resort Kefalos Beach Holiday village, 10 mins walk away -everything there day and night and has its own beach!
Fantastic holiday will definately go back to Damon as long as able to use the Kefalos Beach resort.
Pool at damon was spoilt by debris caused mainly by falling blossom from surrounding palm trees which was obviously impossible to totally remove.
One word of warning though there are no lifts up to apparments so if you're not able bodied or able to lug a case up 2-4 flights of stairs, don't stay here.

Enjoyable stay

from Northerner39
Very freindly staff with clean apartments that are serviced daily. Toaster, kettle in rooms as standard. Placed in a good location on main road approx 10mins walk from harbour and town centre. Overall excellent and had a very enjoyable stay.

great staff and location

from mrsd85
we stayed in damon hotel apts in april for a week as part of a large family group as we were attending a wedding in elysium. our 2 bed apt had all of the facilities and amenities we expected. staff at all levels were at all times extremely friendly and helpful and very attentive to our two little girls.
we also had access to the pool and playground at the sister kefalos village, which was very close by.
location was excellent, close to the tomb of the kings and walking distance to the harbour and on direct bus route. there was a huge selection of restaurants and pubs literally around the corner.
my husband left his wedding ring behind on departure and it was found and posted on to us - which was fantastic and much appreciated!!

ideal location and facilities for young families

Great value, ideal position, friendly staff

from s80mjb
Booked 2 bed appt for family of 5 - loads of space, nice & clean.
Bed linen & towels changed regularly and all 3 pin plugs.
Breakfast was fine, cooked elements a bit basic but ideal for kids and plenty to fill you up for the day.
The Damon is central to all the restaurants & pubs, bus stops outside the hotel going south to harbour, waterpark, etc or north to Tomb of the Kings & Coral Bay (the only sandy beach near Paphos !) Costs 80p per adult and 50p a child, wherever you go. Taxis seem to cost £4 wherever you go (but we didn't travel far)
Lots of places to eat at night but a big range of prices so look around, but all the food we tried was fine and everwhere was very accomodating for kids (ours were 13,11 & 4).
The hotel was quite quiet and had a mix of age groups (but no roudy ones), so plenty of room in pool for the kids. Loads of sunbeds arond pool and whole area is cleaned every day.
Only 'downside' (depending on what you're after) is that there isn't much entertainment on, but it was early in the season and there is loads around about at night anyway.
For a daytime outing, try the Quadbike safari (pamphlet in reception, the one with 'call Sue' on the back). They're all English, £25 for 3 hours, very safety conscious, we had a great time. The local Waterpark and Coral bay are definitely worth visits too.
Overall the Damon was very good value for money, ideal for families or those looking for a quieter base, the staff were very friendly and accomodating and I would definitely recommend staying there.

Two bed apts at Damon

from carlw1968
Arrived late at night to be met by the night porter, nice bloke, showed us to our 2 bed Aptmnt in "G" Block. Got the key to the room safe next day and took up the offer of breakfast for the week which seemed to be a good deal. Found that there was a leak on the toilet and asked to have it repaired and also a smell of sewage was evident in 1 of the bedrooms. Toilet sealed same day but smell remained so asked for a room change and was moved to another 2 bed apt nearer the pool which was fine except that the main A/C coolers were directly above the bedrooms so a bit noisy when they were running but did not keep me awake.
Pool area was clean and tidy and service at the bar area was good. Not a lot to do in the evenings as we were visiting early in the season. Overall we thought that it was good value for money although basic (you can hire a tv and hair dryer if required) sockets are uk type 3 pin 230vA/C so no travel adapter required.
Matresses in both rooms were a bit lumpy and there is some building work going on next to blocks C and D for a new block with pool area.
Staff are very helpful and nothing seems to be any bother at all.
Would we go back?, yes but next time we will be renting a villa and going with some friends.

Brilliant Weeks Stay

from owldgrand
Having just returned from "Damon" for the fourth time, my wife and I must take the opportunity to, as always, express our opinion with regard to this hotel.

The Damon is centrally located, being equidistant from The Harbour area and "The Old Town" and adjacent to many and varied pubs and restaurants along the "Tomb of The Kings" road.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which we found to be spacious VERY clean and well equipped.

Friends of ours stayed in a "Studio Apartment" at the same time and they commented that it was one of the largest "Studios" they had ever occupied.

Staff are always courteous, helpful and efficient.

As frequent travellers to around six European venues every year, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for value, cleanliness and staff efficiency, and will DEFINITELY return to The Damon.
