Really clean hotel. Excellent childrens pool, adults not so good (bit on small side). Food excellent- lots of choice at breakfast. Nightly entertainment doesnt exist so dont go if your looking for a lively stay! Peaceful and relaxing.Loads of sunbeds every day- no getting up at 5am to put your towel on!! Not overly busy or crowded as hotel is not yet with major operators- go now before thompson and first choice take over!!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa

Wonderful breakfasts!

from NandN7
We stayed here for a week at the end of May, as my friend, who lives in Cyprus, was getting married, and having her reception at the hotel. The entire week was fantastic. Our flight out was delayed, so we didn't check in until 1am. The night manager held the bar open for
us to get a drink, and provided sandwiches, cakes and coffee to revive us! This was the first example of excellent service and I'm pleased to say that it continued throughout our stay. We stayed on a B&B basis as we knew we'd be visiting friends, but if the breakfast buffet was anything to go by, then I would definitely book Half board
next time.

Our room was delightful, with a beautiful view over the pool, gardens
and sea. It was spacious and clean and the cleaning staff very friendly and courteous. The spa was heavenly and the treatments divine, with prices similar to that in the UK.

Our friends wedding took place on Monday 28th May, in a beautiful church in Paphos, with the reception held in the hotel's main restaurant. The decor was beautiful and the food spectacular, and I heard nothing but compliments from the many guests.

We had a truly memorable week and hope to return very soon.

The only thing that proved an irritation was the usual sunbed scenario, with the German visitors claiming loungers by towel at the crack of dawn! This didn't matter for the first few days as there were plenty to go round, but from the Saturday (when half term had started) by 10.30 there were none left in either the pool area or the gardens. Despite plenty of signs stating that towels were not to be used to reserve the beds, it was such a problem that that we resorted to it ourselves out of sheer frustration!

My recommendation would be avoid school holidays if you can, and if not, then send the kids out with the towels early!

Classy Aquamare away from the noise

from DanielsTimperley
We have just returned from a briliant week at this hotel, my husband and I and 2 teenage daughters. The rooms were spacious and very clean and had everything necessary in them. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food at both breakfast and dinner were excellent, plenty of choice. Breakfast was wonderful being able to sit outside 50 yards from the sea. The pool was a good size and 134cm depth and it never appeared crowded nor did the sunbed area. There were a couple of weddings on but that did not interfere with our stay. The hotel is a short bus ride from the centre of Paphos but it is a pleasant walk too. Try "The Banana Shack" opposite the hotel for cheap drinks and ice creams.
We hired a car and could always find parking at the hotel. The beach is more rocky than sandy but clean and there are other beaches to try - Coral Bay in particular.
Would defintiely return and would recommend if you want somewhere a little away from the bustle of the centre.

Fantastic Hotel

from Fionarobertson
I work for fleetway travel and booked this holiday myself so if there were any complaints i only had myself to blame.
I travelled with my husband and 3 children,we stayed here for 2 weeks. (my sister and 2 children and my parents also travelled)
After the initial few teething problems re dining in the main restaurant which we found to be very unpractical for children as they only started serving food at 1930 which was too late for our children to start eating and there wasnt any child friendly items on the menu, we decided to have lunch instead of evening meal which suited us much better.
The reception staff were very helpful and polite, the rooms were spacious clean and very well equipped, the pools and the spa were fantastic had a number of treatments etc in there very resonable and relaxing. The childrens area is ideal for little ones. The breakfasts here are to die for eggs freshly cooked to your perfection, pancakes, french toast etc etc
Again lunch was delicious the chef is very temperamental and doesnt like anything changed ie no parma ham on the melon but the staff in the Kirke Restaurant were truly a credit to the hotel. Maria, Lei,Checy and Afrodite were lovely. I cannot find any fault with this hotel so have rated it a 5 and would definatley stay here again. we came home on the 30th May and wished we were still there ........................

I really wanted a B&B week but there was an excellent HB deal here. I am so glad I took it, the food was excellent and so much. The menu changed every night with the most excellent salade bar. Staff were friendly and always there. Receptionist was great and helpful (Sylvia). The Gym was state of the art with a large sauna & steam room. The jacuzzi could have been hotter but the Gym receptionist (a lovely English rose) was a delight. Room was well laid out and although I had "booked" twin for a single occupnacy had a "double" which was nice. I was road side of the hotel but the views of the mountains was nice and there is no buildings this side, mind you could imagine it will be noisy in full summer mode.
30 minute walk to Papos harbour but buses run every 10 mins and are cheap but they did stop at 6:30PM, during the summer they run much later. There are nice friendly bars within easy walk though.
The gardens are a delight and very peaceful. Plenty of sun beds but could see that may be busy if hotel was full. The breakfast terrace leads out onto the gardens and it was unbelievably relaxing in the morninig to sit out there and look out over the gardens and sea.
I have travelled all over the world for pleasure & business. This is one of the first hotels that I would happily go back to and fits as number 1 for me in pleasure category.

Pampered at the Aquamare

from WaltLondon
My wife and myself spent four wonderful days at the new hotel in Paphos, the Aquamare, in September . We had a huge room with a terrace with lovely views of the sea. The room was very clean and beautifully furnished.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was splendid with a huge assortment of egg dshes, fruits, freshly-baked breads, meats, cheeses and pastries - an absolute feast.

The sevice was very professional as well as friendly.
We can recommend this hotel without reservations!

Loved it there!

I stayed a week at this Hotel in Pafos...I went there for relax..and I certainly did...the Hotel is quite and the staff very friendly...I asked to change room ,because, from my room I could hear the noise of the cars outside...and they imediatly find me a better room. The Spa is really good...the girls there are excellent as well as the range of treatments they can provide. Excellent Hotel

from mazzaKent
I stayed at this hotel for a week in May with my husband. Being a new hotel the standads are very high, all the staff were very friendly and worked very hard and LONG hours, but always managed to keep smiling. The hotel is situated about 1mile from the main tourist area of Paphos, it is situated in a very quiet location and the garden areas are very peaceful as it is quite a small hotel it is very peaceful, but do not go here if you want all the nightlife on your doorstep. It is a very pleasant walk to the bars and restuaranrts.
Overall I would return to this hotel, for a relaxing holiday.

Excellent hotel

from missfussy07
We have just arrived back from a week at this hotel and we will hopefully be returning there next year for our wedding! This hotel only opened last July so everything is brand new and really tastefully decorated. The staff in the restaurants and bar are so friendly and can't do enough for you, they make you feel really welcome. The hotel is very clean and is in a good location about a mile and a half from the centre and harbour. We were told by one of the Managers that the hotel can hold a maximum of 300 guests and that the owners a concentrating on quality rather than quantity, and they certainly are! I can say that we have stayed in many hotels abroad and the food was without a doubt the best we have ever had on a foreign holiday. Everything was fresh and hot and they never used the previous days left overs to make meals for the following day. The Spa was out of this world, they have used the hotel basement and created a spa with over 20 different treatment rooms, hydrotheropy pools, sauna, jacouzi and steam room, gym etc, etc. I had a couple of treatments which were great and I could have easily spent the whole week down there! The rooms were really nice and clean and reasonable in size and they had duvets on the beds! The hotel is situated on the beach and many of the rooms have sea views. If there is one negative, and its hard to find one, the entertainment is not great. They have live music in the restuarant some nights and some of it was not so great and they don't have any entertainment in the evenings so people tend to go out and not hang around so it can be quiet. The bar manager said that the were working on this though so in a few months time it will probably be sorted out. We were happy to go out in the evenings anyway as there are many bars etc in Paphos. I can say that during our holiday we visited many of the hotels looking for a venue for our wedding and many of the other hotels were not a patch on this one. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel especially for those who want a relaxing holiday with nice food and a bit of pampering.

Great Holiday

from NIreland18
Just a very quick review ……… I stayed with my husband for a week in the Aquamare and we both had an excellent stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean, great food and the staff couldn’t be any more helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends and if I were to return, it would be the Aquamare I would choose.

Good quality four star

from GlynnandSue
Star rates of hotels in Cyprus are artificially high throughout but as a four star hotel the Aquamare rated quite high. It is exceptionally clean and the reception staff were very helpful. We were in a family room which was spacious and the sea view was great. This though was only after complaining that the first room we were given had a pool view not a sea view as we had requested. In fairness to the hotel they moved us to our other room immediately. We did not eat in the hotel but there are great restaurants of various cuisines within walking distance (on flat level ground). We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and dined at Gabor a superb French Restaurant where food quality is great and prices moderate.

Top Local Tips for Paphos

arriving and departing The airport was a nightmare i would hate to see it in August but it is building a new one. Take water for when you arrive as there is a long wait for your baggage.

Kykkos Monistary A must to visit. A fair treck but well worth it.

What a blast! Hire a speed boat at the Harbour. We chose a fairly large engine for 20CYP for half an hour, but they were available from 12CYP. It was the quickest 30 minutes of the holiday, great fun and we didn't stop smiling for the rest of the day :-)
