Questionable 4 star!!!!!from eddieMidlandsUk
we had a partial side sea view room which was newly decorated and was clean. The bath was too narrow to sit in comfortably. and took ages to fill. The furniture in the bar area was well past its shelf life with worn out fabric on the arms. The main dissatisfaction was the food it was selfserve buffet style every night mainly the same ingreadiants but with a different theme name , some people had been their three weeks and the menu had not varied . I would not be revisiting I would surjest The Alexandra the Great or Amusus Beach hotels as a better chioce.
dirty bedding!from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel appears very clean. The decor is a bit dated but still nice. The outside pool is very nice, the inside pool was a bit small also the water seemed a bit cloudy.
This hotel is used for local weddings these seem to take priorty over other holiday makers.
Even thou it wasn't high season we still had to wait for tables to be cleared. I was dissapointed with breakfast in this hotel. Too Little choice also it wasn't warm enough. It was below a four star standard. My advise is don't leave it too late to arrive other wise you are left with dried out ham and curly dried cheese.
The hotel is in a great location, you can enjoy a nice walk to the harbour. It is a safe area. There is a little beach across from the hotel. The beach inproves as you walk along, we walked for miles.
The local bus stops almost outside the hotel.
Pathos is very interesting and I hope to return sometime soon . I will not be staying at the Aloe. There are some lovely hotels in the Kato area and I will be staying in one of those.
Excellent hotelfrom fantaki1

Nice hotelfrom poppyland3
The harbour was about a 30 minute leisurely stroll away, with plenty of restaurant choices along the way, (Romantica next door to the Hotel is worth a go!)
There is plenty to do in and around the Hotel, but we hired a car and saw more of Cyprus, so didn't really use the facilities. All in all, a good hotel, certainly value for money, and yes, we would go back.
Good hotel in very central locationfrom A TripAdvisor Member
We booked this hotel as we got married in Paphos and wanted an affordable, central hotel. We weren't dissapointed.
If I was to list bad points, it would be (as mentioned in previous reports) the general shabbiness of the corridors and some rooms. All that is needed is a fresh lick of paint and to have the carpets cleaned annd it would transform this hotel totally.
We found the breakfast brilliant. The staff were friendly and very efficient in bringing us teas and coffees. The food was what you'd expect of a buffet, loads of it!! There was fruit, cakes, pastries, english breakfast, cerals, pancakes etc and all of it was nice.
The pool was huge (but freezing!), we were there off season, but there was still a lot of sunbed reserving going on, but we still managed to get decent ones by the pool if we went at about 10am.
The snackbar food by the pool is horrible!!! I had a carbonara one day which tasted like rotten cheese, and the salads were far from fresh. The only decent thing on the menu was the burgers and chip although these were still obviously frozen and overcooked! If you fancy lunch by your hotel, we found a lovely bakery on the corner just a few mins walk going towards the harbour which did home made baggettes and pastries etc which we ate most days.
The reception staff are very polite and helpful and were always there ready to help (even when we strolled in at 4.30am looking for munchies!!!). The telly is rubbish, the only English channel is sky news, but Cypriot telly does not dub the english films, so we found that the Cypriot channels had English film on with Cypriot subtitles which were ok.
All in all, I found this a pleasant and convenient hotel to stay in, with few bad point and many good ones. I would definately stay there again.
Hope this helps!!
Disappointed in the Aloefrom A TripAdvisor Member
Overall - a good hotelfrom Cpoulter
Our wedding catering was wonderful and superbly priced. In general however I was pleased that we were on B&B at the Aloe. Some nights even HB guests have to pay a supplement of up to CY£10 to eat there which is a bit much if you haven't been warned about it. You can eat very well in Paphos for CY£10 locally incl drinks.
The rooms were nice and clean but you need some cunning to avoid the fridge charge of CY£1.50 per day. Take a coolie bag to transfer your overnight cold drinks!
The whole towels on beds thing would be annoying if you want to spend your whole holiday by the pool. We tended to need 4 beds at about 10am and could always get them albeit not by the pool but right at the back backing onto another hotel who go in for the whole Butlins style poolside entertainment very loudly on a mike! If you want a quiet poolside experience then reserve your bed early.
We experienced a night of the Cypriot wedding where 3500 guests descend on the Aloe for cocktails and then 350 people sit down for a meal. All it meant was that we couldn't park in the car park but we had a balcony overlooking the pool where the bride and groom received their guests and found it very interesting and they had a live band playing too. Very nice. You can enjoy the atmosphere this way (illegally(!) having your own drinks and nibbles) on your own balcony.
A nice hotel with nice management.
A tidy Hotel with great Pool areasfrom RickyH
The Breakfast buffet is spot on with a wide range of choice from Sausage, Beans and Eggs to Hams and Cyprian Cheese to Cereal's and Fruit. The Cyrpian night and the Carvary night are also very good value and the food was spot on.
The Pool area is very clean although I feel the management could do more to stop beds being reserved. If you are up in time for breakfast at 7 am you will be fine to get a bed however from 10am onwards all will be taken and most of the beds are taken earlier then 7 am worth bearing in mind if you like a lay in. The two pools are great and the whole set up is very pleasing on the eye.
Prices of drinks and the hotel are a bit steep, two cups of tea 3 CYP which is a bit much and also when enquiring to keep the room for an additonal two hours we were quoted 41 CYP to keep the room which was a Joke.
Overall a very nice Hotel in a good location and we both enjoyed the holiday and the resort of Paphos. Just bear in mind it really is not a cheap holiday in Paphos.
This is not a 4 star hotelfrom BettingData.co.uk
There was a big banquet on one night we asked about it and where told 'not for English, just cypriots' nice!
Top Local Tips for Paphos
local buses visit old Paphos and market using bus service, bus stop just across road from hotel.
Cyprus is nicer out of season Most people go in summer (May - October) but, unless you are keen on swimming in the sea or outdoor pools, November to January and March can be delightful. There are no crowds, the weather is often just like the British summer at its best (though with cool evenings), and the countryside is green and pleasant. Out-of-season is excellent for moochers and walkers. Best of all, there are many really cheap deals available.
Bargain hunting at the local market in style. Six of us were waiting at the bus stop (outside the Alexander the Great Hotel) to go to the local market, fare 70 cents. A stretch limo taxi pulled up and offered to take us for CYP £1 each - first bargain of the day!
