Incompetent waiter service
The restaurant was a bland affair by any account. But worst of all was the fact that the waiter was completely incompetent. On a night when there was no other table occupied, we had a meal of average quality, the waiter demonstrated no knowledge of wine though this did not stop him from giving us advice. Then he insisted on my not ordering an Irish coffee afterwards, on the grounds that 'cofee with whiskey in it after having eaten vegetables upsest the stomach and causes disturbances (insinuating gas)'. Out of politeness I decided not to enter into a disagreement. Then we asked for decaffinated coffee. He strongly recommended the filter coffee decaffinated rather than the cappuccino, which we had ordered. Again, we rather generously trusted in his recommendations. Well, the coffee we were served turned out to be very strong coffee, full caffeine. It kept us up all of this night. And, gave me the time to write this review, among other things.
