Very good, but more like 4 star

We stayed in this Hotel in June 2006 and thought it was great. The room was one of the best we have ever had! The pool was excellent, with a nice pool bar. There is a second pool that is more for toddlers, and a third indoor pool. The staff were always helpful and friendly, but sometimes service was a bit on the slow side, we presume because of a shortage of staff, as they always seemed to be working very hard.
We thought the food was only good, but nothing special, and if you go into any of the other 5 star Hotels you will see why we give this 4 stars
Having said that, we would be very happy to stay there again, and would recommend it to friends. It offered very good value for money.
Guests should note construction work had just started next door to the Hotel on a development of about 30 Villas and apartments. But it must be said, while there was some noise on and off from machinery when we were by the pool, we never found it too intrusive. Nor did we here any complaints from other guests.

I have been staying at this hotel two times and i'm going there again this summer. The last time there were really some constructions, exactly the side i lived, but i didn't rememeber "great hum" around. Otherwise constructions should already been finished.
In my opinion it's a very good hotel with very polite and friendly staff. If you find cosiness, tranquillity, cleanness, you will find there much more. It's located at the outskirts of new part of Limassol and for me it's good: few cars, few tourists around, many little cheap but fine restoraunts with exellent cuisine. Also you always have many abilities for fun, f.e. parachutes, motor boats, yachts, etc.; besides you can go to the center, it'll take you about 15 minutes. There is a small zoo, many little museums etc. For disco you can go to the center or to the neighbouring town Ayia Napa. The hotel has a great clean beach, a beauty grass-plot with plenty of flowers!!!

A Five Star Four Star

I was in Limassol on business, and I stayed at the St. Raphael for a few days, and it was definately a great decision on my secretary's part. It was as good as any five start hotel, if not better!! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the services were remarkable. It was very lively and the atmosphere was magnetic. I have told most of my business partners that if they are ever in Cyprus for business, that this is the perfect hotel to stay in, because they know how to make you feel at home. Usually on business, I tend to stay outside the hotel most of the time, but this time i didn't need to leave. I had my partners meet me at the hotel to enjoy everything it had to offer, from fantastic cousine to entertainment. Indeed, a true definition of hospitality!!

we had a 3 day meeting last week that required someplace to gather our thoughts and take serious decisions that would affect the business and the account for the next 4 years; our travel agency recommended St. Raphael after we decided on Cyprus as a neutral ground between Saudi and UK and i agreed on it since i visited the place before and i liked it... but this trip was different..

the place looks totally new!! they managed to keep their service levels up to standards since they catered for our (and our client's and supplier's) needs without any compromise... the fact it was so close to the beach made it easier to go there during breaks and brainstorm by the water... rooms were cozy and comfy and the prices were very reasonable... the staff were friendly and the overall atmosphere was fresh.. (and believe me, i've been to some of the best hotels in the world!)

I never write up these reviews, but i feel like i owe it to St. Raphael for making our trip a success and making everyone who attended feel like they made the right decisions.. Thank you!

WOW! Great place, especially because the newly added wing has been completed and is great. Staff are extremely friendly and resonsive - they truely make one feel special and important. Management are responsive and listen to any concerns you may have. The gardens are beautiful and the pool bar is perfect, especially if you're a drinker :) If you like sailing, then you're in the right place because the marina is postcard perfect!

I recommend the St. Raphael Resort to anyone who is considering travelling to Cyprus! It will definately make your trip the whole lot better!!

It's simple to say that the St. Raphael Hotel saved my marriage!!
It's really a combination of the kind & charming staff, beautifully decorated rooms, and enchanting setting (on the beachside and beside the lovely private marina).
What a fantastic get-away from it all!
With their "all-inclusive" package, i didn't need to put my hand in my pocket once upon arrival!!
The new wing is extensive, luxurious, and catered to all the personal needs of the family.
Thanks to all and everyone who made my holiday there a dream come true ... you're the greatest!

Best Value for Money Ever!!!!

I stayed in St. Raphael Resort in April 2006 with my husband and two children in an new Executive Family Room on All-Inclusive Basis. I have to say that it was definitely worth every penny and the children enjoyed it tremendously. The food was supurb and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The whole hotel has been recently renovated and they told me that they spent over 6 million cypriot pounds!!! There are now two outdoor swimming pools and so much for the children to do with the playgrounds and mini-club. If you are looking for a relaxing, fun holiday in the sun with your family, this is a must-go!

Rennovation and honesty

We stayed at the St Raphael for a weekend just after it was re-opened following some sort of rennovation. Before making my reservation i called them and asked whether work was completed in all sections of the hotel. 'Yes, it's finished' was their reply. 'All facilities are ready and working?' i insisted. 'Yes' was once again their response. So we show up at the hotel and after unpacking our stuff we head for the spa. The indoor swimming pool had no water, two builders were working in the jacuzzi area and the gym was closed - converted into a storeroom!!
I wouldnt mind some noise or inconvenience if the rennovation had not been completed, but being lied to was simply unacceptable. So keep it in mind if you are about to make a booking.

P.S. Rennovation?? Other than a nice plasma tv, the rooms/bathrooms look worn n tired. Maybe they have some rooms rennovated but ours certainly wasnt.
On the positive side, good breakfast and very polite staff.

How companies selling this resort as a five star rating can sleep at night is beyond me. The food was awful, staff incredibly rude (unless you are cypriot or russian) and imagine my horror on arrival to find my bed covered in sick, no locks on the doors that worked and blood on the carpet. Needless to say, we were moved but to the side that had all the building works right outside. The whole point of going fivestar for our family was that the children would have proper beds( they were camp-beds!!) The food would be good ( we had to eat elsewhere it was that bad ) and it would be a cut above the other hotels, The only thing five star about this hotel is the foyer, but lets face it, I would have paid half of what we paid and gone elsewhere if I knew what we were letting ourselves in for. Simply put- stay at the Hawaii Grand instead !!

BEST Hotel in Cyprus!!

I stayed at the ST. Raphael with my partner for a week, and we absolutely loved everything about the hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable. We had a sea view room, and the views were glorious. The bed was very large, and ever-so comfy. Everything was very clean, including the bathroom, and we absolutely loved the power shower! The breakfast was brilliant. I'd go back to this hotel specifically for the breakfast. They serve a buffet type breakfast, that includes everything. The bleu cheese was so yummy, and you could eat as much as you wanted!
The hotel bars are very nice. There was a VERY nice barman there called Chris. He always made our visit to the bar very pleasant. Ask for him if you go there!

The hotel is on a very beautiful clean beach. The hotel features a pool, and a very nice pool bar.

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to families, singles, couples! A great hotel for anyone.

Top Local Tips for Limassol

jeep safari to the mountains/limassol water park beware these are expensive and you are taken around to places expecting you to buy. We were crammed into a land rover defender, and were told they usually carry 10 passengers plus two staff. The ride was uncomfortable you couldnt see anything with the small windows and no air con in the middle of a heatwave. It would have been cheaper and better to hire our own car. They drive on the left. Fantastic day out at the water park. A must for old and young alike. Lots of shade we went on a Friday, got the air conditioned bus from outside the hotel only 80c. Hardly any queuing for rides, longest we queued was about 2 mins. Great day out one not to miss.

Fasouri Waterpark Excellent value - Dont get a taxi - Coach picks up at all hotels, very cheap and well airconditioned. Go early and make an entire day of it. Suitable for very young children. Lockers very small at waterpark, so don't bring many valuables. towels etc. safe enough lying on the sunbeds at the waterpark. USe the waterpark photographers, they can get great shots of you and your family, that you would not be able to get in the water yourself.

sunshine We have visited Cyprus four times now at various times of year and have never yet seen a cloud in the sky !! The climate is fantastic.
