We dined there again yesterday (9 November 2007), the latest of many enjoyable evenings at the Bunch of Grapes Restaurant, which is excellent in all respects. It is owned and managed by a local family, Stavros himself learned his trade from his days in the Columbia Hotel, through the Vraka, Pepis and other tavernas, and when he bought the Bunch he implemented all this genuine experience. Its popularity speaks for itself, it is full every weekend evening, summer and winter alike, booking is almost essential.
I refute the criticism of Stravos and his staff about their attitude to children - they welcome children. We have had first hand experience of this with our grandson and niece, both of whom we would be happy to leave with Stavros and his wife at any time. But they do not welcome children whose parents either cannot or will not even attempt to keep them under control, for example by preventing them from spreading butter on restaurant chairs so they can laugh at the distress of......
