My wife and I had the most wonderful time at the Atlantica Bay Hotel, we found the food excetionally nice in presentation and variety, only one small observation was that the plates (hot food) did need to be hot which we never found at all, the cleanliness was excetionally good, the staff including the cleaners - maids waiters and especially the catering staff were pleasant and very helpful, we would not hesitate to tell all of our friends and relatives about this exceptional Hotel, the Christmas and |NewYear Gala evenings were fabulous, the singers and dancers were the best we have come across in any Hotel or Ship we have ever stayed on and in.
The Hotel Management must take alot of credit for the way this hotel has impressed my wife and myself, we plan to go again in April/May 2007.

We travelled to the hotel on June 1st 2005 and were made welcome. We had been before and were recognised. My wife is in a wheelchair and although access is difficult without a car we had a fantastic time. This was our first "all inclusive" and we could not fault the food and the entertainment. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We plan to go again next year.

Lovely Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just returned from a 2 week stay at the "Atlantica Bay Hotel," Limassol, Cyprus.

Hotel and staff are lovely. Nothing too much trouble. Plenty of good food to choose from.

Not a lot to do around hotel so we hired a car for a week and visited other parts of Cyprus. Try V.H. Michaels for car hire - much cheaper than europcar.(Just down road to left or ask for Valentino - head barman).

Buses into Limassol straight outside hotel 80 cents anywhere on route.

Take the drinks package (Shame about the yellow bands you have to wear). This cost 9.75 each per day but well worth it when a vodka and coke was 3.70, coffee 1.50 - it soon adds up and you also get a kettle in your room if you take out this option.

Don't bother to take an iron there is an ironing room on each floor.

Building works at the side did not bother us as main building has been done (for the moment - but lots more work to be done).

WILL GO AGAIN.

Fantastic Hotel and Staff

First Thomsons Gold holiday. Fantastic. Travelled out on 28th January, our Wedding Anniversay. Arrived to find that we had been upgraded to a Superior room which had a fantastic view of the pool and sea.

The food was excellent with plenty of choice. Could not fault the Entertainers and Reps, they were a vital part of the Holiday experience.

We hired a car prior to our Departure, and travelled all over the Island.

I would deffinitely recommend the Hotel to other people.

Hope to go back again.

Service was Superb

from Norrie111
We stayed at the Atlantica Bay hotel in early January. Upgraded to the drinks package on arrival,as the alcohol was expensive otherwise. Cost for two was about £100. Hired a car from Euoropcar,it was used for a couple of trips to Larnaka and Paphos, but apart from that ,not a lot. We also found out ,that there are a couple of other Atlantica hotels in Limassol,so check the review was for the one you want. Ours was the Atlantica Bay....
The service was excellent, the waiting staff are brilliant, and cant do enough for their guests, room service was fast and food was hot on arrival at the room, which was lovely too.
The entertainment was mainly done by the reps, but was good fun,and enjoyable.
The hotel was very clean, and the shop was handy too.
The food was good, tho' once or twice could have been warmer, but this was remedied as soon as was brought to the chefs notice.
We are hoping to return again, later in the year.
The weather in the first week of January was good, with two days of warm rain. Buses to twon are regular, and cost only 80cents.
If you are into Ancient Ruins,Byzantine and Roman, I recommend the ruins at Amathus only 200 yds or so twoards town from the hotel.
I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to anyone thinking of going there.

Fabulous Holiday - Great hotel

Even though the weather wasn't perfect the hotel was...yes it is out of town, but the bus sevice is excellent so Limassol is very accessible. The staff at the hotel are so friendly nothing is too much trouble. The Thomson Reps were brilliant so much enthusiasm. Can't remember the last time we felt so relaxed at the end of a holiday.

Good Hotel

from steplulu
We stayed on 14 Jan and join the Thomson Gold. Everything fine in the hotel although they have a repair job to do in the hotel make some noise(Low season.)The hotel very concern the guests so arrange free day trip.

Lobby big and bright.Nice Swimming Pool and beautiful Big Patio good for reading and drink in both area.

In the evening good entertainment in the Ballroom.

Food very average but I believe in summer they do much better. Because low season the hotel only adults if you need a relax and peaceful holiday this is a good time to go.

Very Friendly staffs, especially one call Doras, very good service.

Highly recommend.

Okay Atlantica Bay

from flika
Although about 5 miles from town centre, plenty of buses outside hotel. Good food, variety, comfy rooms. Thomson organised trips cover most of the island, even the Northern Turk area. Try the Amakas Gorge.

very poor

We went on a holiday mid November to the Atlantica. This was a pricepreaker to west Cyprus, not sure how this hotel is classed as west cyprus but still. The hotel was nearer 2 star, I think the add on indoor pool made it 4 star but it was really on 3 star max. The food was awful, worst we had ever had, cold and bland. The all inclusive was badly done, you had to ask for things and this made you feel a nuisence. The hotel was clean but basic and the room was very basic. This was by far the worst Thomson hotel we have stayed at and would not recommend it, although we did not pay very much, just as well.Give this a hotel a miss unless very cheap.

Lovely Weather!

from SH1
We returned from Cyrpus last week! The weather was about 23c every day which was really nice and warm. The hotel was very comfortable and spacious the rooms were well cleaned every day and the staff polite. The bar in the hotel is a little small for number of guests the hotel can accomodate. The food was OK. The dinner in the evenings was very repetitive and very English - there wasn't that much traditional Cyprus food on offer. The A la carte restaurant is worth a try but dont get your hopes up too much! The food served is the same as in the normal restaurant the only difference is you are served by a waitor instead of having to get it yourself. The Thomson entertainment was a bit lame. A very big plus was that there were no children around. There is a big development of apartments being built next door to the hotel and drilling started at 6am but seemed to cease around lunchtime. The road at night is also quite noisy. The beach opposite is just pebbles and a bit rocky. I did not see a sole sun bathing it is just not that sort of beach. It is only good to walk along to get to the tourist area. All in all it is a nice hotel but the food could be a lot better. Thomson Platimum for me next time! There is just no comparison!

Fab hotel

The atlantica bay is a lovely hotel. The staff are very friendly and will do all they can to give you a wonderful time, the food was vaired and included a cavery meat every night....the rest of the food was buffet including 3 soups, 5 meat dishes a couple of vegetarian and about 10 deserts and ice cream and cheese and biscuits...you don't go hungry!

The pools are lovely, there are 2, but in November they are far too cold to go in which is a shame.

The weather was about 23 every day, and we went mid November.

My only complaint is the price of the drinks in the hotel as they are exensive, if you want cheaper drinks, 70 cents on the bus will take you to the tourist area where the drinks are at least half the price of the hotel. You can do all inclusive, we didn't but if we went again we would do it.

If you go, have a wonderful time, there are no children too!

The weather was nice!

from BHH
Got back Wednesday! and although we were extremely lucky with the weather (sun all week)I researched the other comments before booking here! so if you are thinking of booking, here are some points which may assist you!
THE LOCATION: could be better! there is a road at the back of the hotel (swimming pool side) which hosts all sorts of traffic! and as they are keen on there cars and motorbikes out there, fast acceleration seemed to be the name of the game! and if like us you walk to the local shops be very careful when crossing at the dual carriageway part as they are not to fussed on what side of the road they want to travel on...
THE BEACH: we thought their local beach was terrible! and as we are beach people it was dissapointing having to sit at the pool for a week! but again it didn't actually spoil the holiday!
THE FOOD: very basic! very repetative! the cooks are always walking around with a tray of something constantly replenishing (and they do like you to get out of their way)you order your drinks when seated, but never actually got the drink until half way through the meal! The Al a'Carte restaurant is worth a look, an the food is presented well...but if asking for the cheeseboard be aware!! it arrives saturated in olive oil...whats all that about!!!!!
THE POOL: given the heat of the day the pool was extremly cold! and only saw no more than three persons use it all week! we watched some chap jump in and he commented that it took his breath away and had a bit of difficulty getting to the side! so beware! But was kept clean every day as with the grounds! It is worth noting that right next door is a villa complex being built! so builders and noise go hand in hand here (06.00am start) as with an old club opposite the hotel (pool side) which they choose to dig up the concrete each day which was again noisy! but it wasn't constant!...oh! and the flies around the pool will get you down! they say they only land on S*** but we tried numerous different sunbeds and everyone suffered the same!
ENTERTAINMENT: very basic! the 3pm quiz round the pool happened once! which was a shame as it sort of broke the ice with fellow holiday makers! usual other games were well represented though! The resident group 'Midas Touch' were very professional....but! given all the electronic wizardry (used to great effect)wished they had chosen more upbeat songs...if I hear 'Bobby's Girl' one more time....(constructive critism Midas Touch...sorry!!)
OVERALL: it's fair to say we did have a relaxing week!..but would not return back either to this hotel or Cyprus, back to the Caribbean I'm afraid!
I would be happy to answer (honestly) any other questions so email address attached!

Top Local Tips for Limassol

Weather I don't think the weather matters very much because there is so much to see and do. We had rain but it didn't really bother us. We plan on going again in October when we hope it will be a little bit warmer than February

Value bus fares Buses stop right outside the hotel and the bus to Limassol has a cheap flat fare no matter how far into town you go (Bus nos 12 and 30)

march weather very dissapointing weather, very cloudy and windy, but alot better than england!
