Fabulous Holiday
from frybabyOrganisation by the tour company was excellent and friendly.
Greeting from the reception was courteous and friendly.
Slight problem with the type of booking, we were booked in for B&B with 7 nights evening meals which at first was overlooked, so always ensure you know what you have booked and keep the relevant information available for check-in as their records are pretty poor.
The room was not what I expected of a four star sea view room.
The word sea view can be misleading. As long as you can see the sea, then it becomes a sea view room, not like the glossy brochure at all.
The facilities which included poolside activities were well organised and kept our son entertained throughout the holiday.
The hotel staff were courteous and friendly throughout the holiday. The outdoor and indoor pools were excellent.
We had a slight problem with the Air Conditioning flooding the bathroom, which meant having to change rooms. This in no way spoiled our holiday. We were re-roomed after approximately three days.
We were only a fifteen minute walk from the resort with prenty of shops enroute. Best to take water if walking during the hot season. Watch out for dehydration always drink plenty of water.
Small tourist shop outside the hotel can supply you with boxes of water, cheaper than hotel.
Drinks in the evening can be quite expensive and the entertainment is suited to an older audience.
Theme meals were great and with the option of only taking 7 days evening meals we had the choice to sample the local mesa on our evening journey into the resort area. The resort is full of restaurants with plenty of bars for you to choose from with a fantastic choice of food.
The beach was a bit disappointing at the Nissi Beach end as there were lots of plankton floating in and around the sea up to a quarter of a mile out. A short walk along the beach to the water sports facility took you to crystal clear waters where most of the sunbeds were booked, remember you do have to pay a small fee for the sunbeds.
The water sports are expensive at £45 cypriot pounds for a 30 min jet ski with no insurance and if you break it you pay for it policy.
The parasail is a must at £20 cypriot pounds and for the kids the sea canoe is the cheapest although sore on the back as the canoe does not have a proper support for your back.
The weather was great the beach was good and we are going back this year although have chosen a different hotel but we will still be in Ayia Napa.
Recommended.
Had a great time Aaron and Neisha Birmingham, UK
from AaronAcocksGreengoing for the suite I wouldnt bother, the view from the 2nd floor
upwards is much better and cheaper!!. We didnt stay in the bungalow for long though.
Overall I have an excellent time....The staff were very professional,
Nissi Bay is great and they have truly made the wedding one to remember....oh and book the rondavel if you are getting married, its a snack bar in the day but they decorate it in the evening and its the perfect venue, Beach BBQ is wonderful as well.
ESPECIALLY FOR A WEDDING IT IS SUPERB!
from TroubleandStrifeWe booked through a local travel agent in the UK and travelled with Thomas Cook.
(My wife was pleased because she was able to take her wedding dress on the plane as hand luggage).
We had 6 days before the wedding and arranged what we wanted for the day and our guests with Marios (hotel wedding manager), which was fine. No hassle like there would be in the UK.
We were lucky that there was no other weddings in the hotel on our day, so we had the run of the renues to choose from.
We had a party of 16 ish, and it was a truly memorable day, all staff were brilliant. The best location (and weather) possible for a wedding.
We would recommend it to everyone thinking of getting married who doesn't fancy the UK. Incidentally we had the best meal of our lives that day, (steak) amazing. And yes we do eat out normally!
Staff were all great, the kids supervisor was very friendly as were reception staff, Andros, Chris and all the other waiters as well as the staff by the pool side bar.
The gardens in the ground are mantained amazingly well.
The Pelicans are real caracters!
We were B & B, but ate in the restaurant in the hotel a few times, good food and not badly proced.
Breakfast was great, buffet, lots of choice and all delicious.
Do pay for the best bungalow option if you can, when you open the curtains in the morning, it's just a pleasure, the view of the gardens and the sea, it's beautiful. Great bathroom, lots of space and they are cleaned very well by the maids every day. I imagine the top floors of the main hotel block would provide great views but obviously the rooms would be smaller.
The beach and sea is great, but paying for the sunbeds was a bit annoying, £1.5 CYP per bed per day soon adds up. The pool ones were free but there was no difficulty in getting hold of beds for either location.
Pool and it's beach side bar great, especially the cluib sandwich!!
The evening entertainment was OK nothing much to write home about.
Good number of bars/restaurants on the main strip nearby and the walk to Aiya Napa is about 30 mins for those not in a hurry, or £4CYP for a taxi. Obviously good for those that like clubbing, but the PA's tempting/persuading/near dragging you into their establishments got a bit tedious!
There was initially a problem that we were under the impression we had pre paid for the deluxe beach front bungalow (we thought we'd treat ourselves for the wedding and guarantee the best accomodation rather than risk an upgrade), but reception only gave us a standard bungalow, which was OK but not a great sea view room. It was tier and predominantly overlooking the accomodation infront and slightly below us.
We came to an agreement with the manager and then got back the extra money we had to pay locally for the bungalow from Thomas Cook.
We like the place so much that we returned in September 2006 This hotel was fully booked so we stayed at their 3* sister hotel, the Nissi Park hotel which was adequate. Well looked after and the staff were good. We managed to sneak in for the odd meal at the Nissi Beach and see all the staff again.
Can't recommend this hotel highly eanough, all was just perfect, would like to go again in the near future, best start saving now!

Perfect for our Wedding!
from stephxchrisare absolute professionals at this-but they really make you feel special, we also hired the Rondeval Beech bar which is situated right
on the edge of the hotel grounds on the beech and this was stunning!
We will definatly be going back to this hotel hopefully for our 1st wedding annivesary!!! We stayed in a garden bungalow but got uprated after a week as we got married there to a sea view room in the hotel-the view was absolutly amazing and it was a joy to wake up each morning. The food in the hotel was great a lot of choice -breakfasts were always lovely with pancakes every other day! However definatly venture out for food there is sooo much choice-the best resteraunts in Aiya Napa are- The Japanense which is in the centre and also opposite this there is a fantastic Thai place -also down the main strip towards the harbour there is a polyneision resteraunt upstairs-gorgeous. But out of all the places we returned to the best one twice
over this is called SAGE and it really is the best in the town-well worth a visit.
All in all this really was a unforgettable holiday which was made even more special by getting wed there! See you soon Nissi Beech

ve ever stayed in
from sullykeaton>From the moment we arrived we were in awe of the high class accomodation, it's situation being less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and yet so close to all of the restaurants, shops, bars and night life.
Ayia Napa has to be the best place to holiday and the nissi beach area is the best part of "napa".
All the locals were freindly and the people we booked through were great.
Really can't say how good this apartment is, I've booked again for this year !
Excellent Hotel - Loved it!!!
from Charlie_lfcWe arrived to the wonderful lobby, with helpful staff on hand taking our luggage, and giving us refreshing glasses of cold orange juice.
We were then taken upto our room - a garden view room, a little dissapointed on entering, as they are a little old fashioned, however, they were fine for us, and we've heard that they are being refurbished this year for next summer! The Garden View rooms were lovely, we had a sea view with ours, and the gardens were absolutely gorgeous!
However, the Beach Bungalows looked gorgeous too...however, they are alot more expensive, probably worth it if its your honeymoon or wedding.
The pool area was really nice. We loved it! The pool was really big and very clean, and there were always sunbeds free to sun-bathe on. The pool bar food and drinks were delicious! Quite expensive, but portions were big, so you could share your meal. Staff were very friendly and kind. There was a constant activites programme going on, and the guy who did this was very nice and friendly too. All in all, the staff were lovely!
The beach was amazing. I loved it - right next to the hotels pool, and the hotel actually owned a part of the beach - that was exclusive for the hotel guests. It was lovely!
We used the indoor pool daily, it was lovely and cool, and lovely to go up and jump into before going back to your room for a cool down from the boiling Cypriot weather!
We stayed on a B&B Basis, and the breakfast everymorning was always nice, although a bit repetative. We ate in the hotel one night, for the Chinese Buffet and its was delicious!
The location of the hotel is perfect...located on Nissi Avenue, a lovely street, with a handful of bars and EXCELLENT restaurants! The food in Cyprus was lovely, we didn't have one bad meal. It was great!
We recommend the boat trip to Famagusta....only £6 for a 6 hour boat trip, including lunch, and we also stopped at Cape Greco and swam for half hour. It was a really nice day. Water park was good too - although, very busy!
We enjoyed walking upto Ayia Napa in the nights (about 20 mins walk), although glad we stayed in the quieter region.
All in all, this was a fantastic holiday. Nothing atall to complain about. Hotel Fantastic, Location brilliant - would go back in a second!!
Very good hotel, shame about Ayia Napa
from hollyfairyDo try and speak the lingo, if only to say Kalimera (Good Morning), Kalispera (Good Evening), Parakalo (Please) or Efharisto (Thank you). It goes a long way and is much appreciated.
We stayed B & B but ate at hotel 3 times which was reasonably priced for 3 courses. Main thing to check before you go is which room you're allocated. The Garden rooms are adjacent to a main road but sheltered by trees and this is opposite a bar which has karoke until very late but may be different out of season. If you can afford the extra - book a sea-view room in the hotel itself - but if you truly want a sea-view then you need to be on the 3rd or 4th floors, we were originally allocated 1st floor and only had sea-glimpses through tropical trees. They did change us all to 3rd floor the following day on our request. The gardens are lovely by the way. The beach is good and very clean (hotel end). The Pelicans will eat the sparrows. If you are getting married here do be aware that you will share your day with all the other holiday makers, the beach was packed and people will be walking past (even in the hotel grounds). At least you know the weather will be fine tho.
If you hire a car, we found a well-known National Hirer down on the harbour who were very unfriendly and failed to tell us that you could not take a hire car over the buffer zone (Northern Cyprus). The vehicle interior was not in good condition and we had to tie the canvas top on with string. Cost 145 CYP for 2 days - rip off! Our Rep was never around at the times stated, so if you are only there one week and want to book trips - find out where they go in advance if poss.
As for Aiya Napa itself, you can walk it in 30 mins. The younger adults in our party did it in 20. We chose Nissi Beach because we were a mixed family group 22 to 55. It appealed to everyone initially, altho I was disappointed with Aiya Napa because I like culture and the Town is full of English & Irish bars, PIzzas, MacD's and I feel sad that pubs called the Queen Vic and Del Boys are so appealing when you're on holiday in another country. I guess its the same in a lot of touristy places abroad now. The best thing was the hotel and I wish I could be sure of the same high quality whenever we book a holiday whether here or abroad.
Great weather and a fantastoic beach
from MarinesiderWe booked B&B. The breakfasts are buffet style/self service. I found the cooked food was not hot enough. Everything else was fine. I endorse the comments in another review where it is quite possible to share a lunch at the pool bar because the portions are substantial.
The welcome party by the management was a bit farcical. We were invited to the wrong bar and when we got to the one where the party was being held there was no sign of the management and only 3 glasses of white wine left - I cannot drink white so I had to buy my own drink. We were 5 minutes late - so make sure you are early!
The beach is great for almost everything bar swimming. There are a lot of rocks about. Go past the first beach bar and enter the water in line with the 2nd waste bin - there is a small rock free channel there.
The restaurants near the complex entrance,on the main road are good with possible exception of the Karaoke bar . Here one of our party had a dodgy meal.
We are not the clubbing type but the younger members of our group enjoyed all that. We went on the boat ride towards Famagusta. 5 hours with lunch on board for 6C£. Take a towel if you intend to swim.
We pre-booked a hire car from Avis at Larnaca Airport. It was expensive but the car was new ,clean and everything worked.
The wedding went off very well. My wife and I felt that 1 week was enough. The hotel room was good and the oft-praised maid service excellent. We did not eat at the Hotel, except for the wedding reception so we cannot pass comment on that. The evening cabaret was energetic but too many of the artistes relied too much on pre-recorded backing music.
Brilliant Holiday
from vkvkTop Local Tips for Ayia Napa
Beech buggies Get yourself a beech buggie-do a deal in town and get one for a couple/few days-they are well worth it-we went all the way to Protaras in ours-wicked!!!
Larnaca Aiport / going to "the north". WHen going back to the UK get something to eat/drink, shop, then wait for your plane down by the gates, it's a small termianl. ALternatively go upstairs after you've gone through security. We went to northern Cyprus as friends picked us up in their car. They informed us that you can get car insurance for the north just after you have gone through the border security and shown your passport.
Lovely grub in Ayia napa go and eat in Clarabels or Sage in Ayia Napa - lovely food.
