Loved every minute of our stay at the Adams Beach Hotel. Spent most of the day lying on the hotel's private beach. Staff very friendly always there to help you! Also stayed one night in one of the Honeymoon Suites - made a surprise to my wife!! it had a jacuzzi near the bed! We had a fantastic holiday at this hotel and we ll be surely be back!

We booked the Adams Beach on a half board basis and the evening food was much better than expected, especially the Cyprus evening buffet. There was a good variety each evening and the good thing about the Adams Beach Hotel, if we wanted to venture outside the hotel for a meal, we could swap our evening meal for lunch, which we've not been able to do at previous hotels. There were a few happy hours during the day and evening and special offers on meal and drinks which meant you could eat and drink at a reasonable price. Great alround hotel, with the best pools I've seen. Great holiday.

We were really looking forward to our holiday but it wasn't what we expected. The rooms are a bit drab and not a lot of space when they have a camp bed in!
The hotel is very expensive be aware! Cyprus itself is not cheap especially when there are six of you.
Had to complain to the assistant manager about a couple of things but he wasn't very helpful.
The breakfast in the hotel was very good and the evening meals looked good but again they were expensive!
Wouldn't go here again but a lot of the locals said Protaras was place to go.

Unbeatable hotel - you will love it - go ahead and book. We first went for our honeymoon and have returned with kids. Both times we have been the hotel and staff have exceeded our expectations. The standards are amazing and you will get the best holiday in Cyprus possible at this hotel, I promise!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Adams Beach Hotel

God, but not great

from HGWM
Excellent food and friendly staff at the Adam's Beach, but not sure how it got 5 stars. We were half board and had breakfast and dinner there each day. Both were plentiful with great choice, but often ques at buffet, and limited choice for veges. Great if you like meat and fish though!

Rooms are ok, but very basic and dated - more 1980's guesthouse that 5star hotel. You also have to pay CY£5/week to use your own safey deposit box in them and CY£5 per day just to use the minibar, before you have any drinks from it! Not even a kettle or ironing board in them either.

Its a huge place with hundreds of guests - Swiss, French & Russian, but mainly 'Brits Abroad'(shaven heads, tattoos, drunk, loud, rude and agressive with noisy kids etc). Its also a bit of a wedding production line, which disrupts things in the pool, bar and restaurant areas. Facilities for kids were good, but the pool areas were a bit dated and crumbling, and could have done with tidy up and a lick of paint. There are no life guards on duty either, and the safety facilities were a bit suspect. The beach looks good from a distance, but is littered with fag ends, bottle tops and rubbish, and lots of sharp rocks in sea. Its not really suitable for kiddies to play on or in, and quite treacherous for adults to swim in. Entertainment ok if you like drunken karaoke or Cypriot cabaret artists singing ABBA and Chris de Burg. Bars and public areas of hotel were nice but again dated and lacking in maintenance.

Was a good holiday, thanks to the weather, the food, and the pleasant waiting staff, but only thing 5 star about this place is the price. Drinks are very expensive(polystyrene cup of tea by the pool - £2.40!) Would say 4 star more realistic, but rooms 3 star. Have had better rooms at Travelodges. In essence, its a typical Ayia Napa hotel, but wth more bling! Great if you like that sort of thing, terrible if you don't.

Not what we expected

from smurfit
My husband and I have just spent the last week at the Adams Beach Hotel. Unfortunatley it wasn't quite what we expected from a 5 star hotel. We were among a party of wedding guests and arrived on their second week. We checked in to our very small/average room where we found the air condictioning blowing almost warm air. The toilet didn't flush properly, the sink emptied at a snails pace and the bottom of the bedside drawer fell out. On viewing some of our frinds rooms we found we had proberbly got the bumb deal, their rooms were spacious and looked like they had been redecorated. We later found out that most of our friend had complained about their original rooms and been upgraded.

The pool and beach area were very nice but service around the pool and in your room worked out to be very expensive.

We ate out most of the time and found a fantastic restaurant called "Fiji" serving polynesian cuisine, definately a must.

In all we had a nice time with our friend and the wedding made things special but we won't be rushing back to Adams Beach.

Hotel great, watch what room you book

from AlanHP
We arrived latish on Weds 16th August for 2 weeks, had booked a standard room with balcony. We went to the room, and were very disappointed, it was very small, had no balcony, only a window looking out onto the car park. For 2 of us + our 7 year old son, it was very poor. This was not what we booked/expected, and is part of the wing due to be refurbished in Nov06 to Mar07 - so watch out for rooms 901-909 they are terrible. We obviously complained, and the hotel were very good, but said they could not move us until the Sunday, so the 1st 4 days of our 14 were a little spoilt. They also gave us free lunch vouchers (we were half board), but we didn't really want them we only wanted our room.
When we moved they upgraded us from a standard to a superior room, and that was much better. Nice view, spacious room, and cleaned daily to a good standard. I gather a number of other people complain about their rooms as well.
Now the hotel is really 5*, it's lovely, but be careful what room you book, the standards appear small, and I wouldn't even give them 2* rating. We will go fo the superior next time, it's not 5*, but it get's closer. Much much better.
The pool and the beach are fantastic, and we found all the hotel staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful for choice as was dinner, but there are so many places to eat out, next time we would probably opt for S/C, or a mix of S/C and half board, just for a change.
Prices in the hotel are very expensive, a beer can cost you 2.5 times the local places, the little shop next door is ok, and you can get drinks cheaper from there. All said, most 5* hotels charges are expensive, so that was expected.
There are plenty of sunbeds, and the way the hotel is located on it's own beach, you can nearly always get one, but if you want prime position around the pool, you may have to get up early to get your spot, personally @ 8.00 was ok for us, and we always got a good spot.
The pool has a lazy river part, some slides, and a variety of other pool areas, so is really nice. The private beach is small but it's ok, and good for a swim. The 2 local beaches either side are great as well and both within short walking distance.
Entertaiment is ok, fairly standard for abroad, not 5* though.
All in all, great weather (very hot), great hotel, bad room allocation at first, but then ok. Food all ok, staff at hotel helpful and friendly.

s Beach - wedding?

from mariafromEngland
This hotel was great but not if you want to get married. We stayed here and everything was perfect except for the fact the chapel is right next to the water slides! The garden where you can also get married is in the middle of the hotel so everyone can see you. We have opted to go to Nissi Beach it is ideal if you looking to get married. If you have kids this hotel is great the staff are friendly and helpful. If you go in the sea there are sea urchen's with spikes so be careful...Contact Aphrodite Wedding services Jenny Carter e-mail ---. This lady is great and will sort eveything out for you.

Adams Beach is not a 5 Star Hotel

from T4NK
Me and my partner spent two weeks (25th June to 9th July 2006) at the Adams Beach Hotel (this was our second time) I found the reception desk staff most rude and unhelpful individuals (they were the exact same the pervious year) They are fine while you check in but once this procedure is complete any issues after this is a problem for them to resolve. We also found the hotel not thinking of the guests but to see how much money they can take/make from you. I have no problem in spending money I would like to make that clear. However, when you have room service it costs you money, if you use the fridge it cost you money, if you choose to use the safe it will cost you money etc etc. The use of the fridge is hilarious, if you choose to place any of your items in the fridge the cleaner will come in (while your pool side or beach side) and remove all your items placed in there. I found this petty and very much irritating. There is no kettle to make tea or coffee. Surely all 5 star hotels have that facility? Also note (very Important) that the sheets are not changed on a regular basis I found this very much disgusting. All 5 Stars hotels we have stopped in the past have changed the sheets daily. I have to question the fact that I feel this hotel is defiantly and unfortunately not a 5 star (more 4).

The Adams Beach entertainment staff around the pool where very friendly and got you motivated to participate in the activities in place.

Our other MAJOR gripe is the amount of guests at this hotel that are not comfortable with a more refined hotel. Like the review below I too put this down to the amount of weddings that are conducted at the Adams Beach. Cantankerous groups (wedding parties) that would never be accustom to a 5 star hotel (even though its 4star). Trust me this was very much off putting. Again money making for the Adams Beach as it was a conveyor belt of weddings. There is nothing special in a bride or groom waiting for one wedding to finish so they can start the next.

Breakfast was good there was a wide variety which would cater for all but the lunch time menu was not up to 5 star dining avoid if possible. Eveing meals were fantastic. We would eat out at restaurants. Our favourite by far was the Palazzo Bianco which is an Italian and just down from Los Bandidos (Mexican). The service provided at the restaurant is probably the best we have ever received/experienced. The menu and wine list was fantastic, this restaurant is a must. The Mexican Los Bandidos was a favourite of my partners along with the Japanese Sapporo (Sapporo have a chain of restaurants around Ayia Napa it’s worth checking them out too I personally think they are better than Sapporo). We also tried a restaurant called Edge which is a mixture of Englsh, Chinese, Mexican and Greek dishes.

We never had an evening meal at the Adams Beach hotel so this is something I am unable to comment on. However when we stopped in September 2005 we did eat there and found it very pleasant.

Returning back to the Adams Beach Hotel a plus point for the hotel is the location. You are right on Nissi beach. We found that if you weren’t getting up at 6am to place your towels on your sun lounges you were definitely not guaranteed a bed. Your next option would be to pay £3.60CYP for 2 beds and an umbrella on the beach.

I don’t think I would stop at the Adams Beach again I here the Grecian Bay Hotel is a good hotel. Our Rep stated that the hotel opposite the Adams Beach is very good and definitely worth a look.

Good Again But Now 2 Many Weddings!!!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just back from our 4th visit to Adams Beach, nearly everything was great again APART FROM THE WEDDINGS (oh my god, they trundle through at 4 a day now!!!!!!)( The problem is that they seem to attract guests, who under normal circumstances, would not visit a 4+ Hotel, swearing in front of kiddies at the pool bar (which is situated in one of the kiddies pools), grown men thrashing about drunk in the pool on their pre-wedding drinking bouts, tipping each other off lilo's etc, with no regard for non swimming children.

Disappointingly, the bar staff stay schtumm! Then, where is the fierce rottweiller of a man who checks that you have a key card to be able to enjoy the facilities?, he's gone away:( you see you have to have eaither a brown or blue Adams Beach towel on your sunbed or he wants to know why!!!! DON'T CROSS HIM!!!!! It used to be such a lovely sight to see him escorting non-residents off the premises:) Then there is now the issue of sunbed reserving. This has never happened to such an enormous extent before, but now you can hear the hotel room doors slamming at 6.30 a.m. by guests who march their way to get a decent spot! We walked around the pool area at 12.30 a.m. and spotted a regular German couples pitch with their towels on, held down by two bottles of water - you can guess where their towels ended up!!!!! They were a little disappointed next day to say the least, but we enjoyed it!!!!.

These are the negatives, but as a regular visitor, we see the majority of same staff each year and we LOVE IT!!!!. They are worth the re-visit, they treat you so well. We will be going back next year, maybe September, when hopefully the wedding briggade will have ceased. ADAMS BEACH - TAKE NOTE - we are your regulars, not everyone loves a wedding, and the wedding crowd probably won't be able to afford a return visit. See you next year! If you want any further info feel free to email.

agreat holiday and lovely hotel.

from A TripAdvisor Member
We just come back from adams beach and had a wonderful holiday. My sister had her wedding there and it was a fantastic day. She had 36 guests and everything went to plan. She got married in the wedding garden. There is about 3-4 weddings every week day, so if going to get marrried there you will see a few before its your big day! The hotel was clean and breakfast was good, with lots to chose from. It could do with having an extra toast machine as sometimes very busy. There is a vast amount of restaurants nearby and prices okay. You can walk in to ayia napa in about 30minutes but taxis only 4 cyp pound whenever you go. The hotel has lots of sunbeds but still need to be up early to get one as pool and beach area gets very busy. It is lovely having your own private beach and the sea is absolutely lush, its clear blue and warm sometimes!! You do not get tea making facilties in your room, so take your own kettle, or just use room service.
Would go back to this hotel. Would recommend it for weddings. Enjoy it if you go.

t wish for a better hotel

from emma41
We stayed at this hotel with our two teenagers. The staff were very friendly, espeically the manager of the restaurant. The pool was the best I have seen. Our room overlooked Nissi Beach which was the perfect view. When we did go the the beach, we didn't use the hotels own we went across the road to Nissi, where you had all the watersports you needed.

The piano bar was lovely and relaxing whilst having a cocktail.

The rooms were clean and tidy, if you needed extra towles for the pool the maides were always helpful.

The pool and hotel was extremely clean.

We went to Paphos last year and stayed in a 4 star hotel which wasn't a patch on the Adams Beach.

I have now been advised by my daughter that next year is our last family holiday she has now reached the age to go away with friends, I asked both children where they would like to go for our last family holiday - they both said, without hesitation, - Adams Beach - have booked this morning for next year - can't wait.

Hotel 5 star - but that evening meal buffet

from A TripAdvisor Member
Having spent much of my working life travelling overseas and staying in either 4 or 5 star holels, I would rate the Adams Beach above average as a 5 star hotel for its accommodation, facilities and service. However, whilst the breakfast buffet generally gave a good choice of menu and standard, oh dear! the evening meal buffet style meal was probably at best rated in my opinion as 3 star. Starters were of great choice and good, as were the deserts, but the main course was always undercooked, warm and bland. Would therefore strongly recommend that eating in one of the many good standard restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel should be your choice and are of similar cost.

Cyprus - NIssi Bay 'Adams Beach'
Date - 22 may 2006

Me and my boyfriend just got back from a weeks stay in nissi bay, we stayed in a lovely hotel absoultely perfect for what we wanted, rooms cleaned everyday breakfast was delicous. Nissi beach best beach in Cyprus, was right by our hotel and it was beautiful, we went out clubbing to ayia napa and it was wicked try 'Bedrock' if you go good night out. It is 4-5 pound taxi fare into ayia napa so not too bad.

The weather was thraping hot we had one overcast day but to be honest we needed a break from the hot sun.

We went Bed and Breakfast to this hotel eating out in cyprus was rather dear we spent about £500 on food and drinks, we will definately be returning to this hotel but we will go all inclusive next time.

I have read other reviews on this hotel and some people just seem to dam picky, it is a beautiful hotel in a great location and the hotel staff are pelight and helpful.

I would definately rate this hotl as 5 Star.
