Top Local Tips for Zagreb

Catch the airport bus to Town and walk or if you must Taxi from there Taxis for the 5-10 minute trips from Zagreb bus staion to/from the hotel cost £7-£8 the trip to the airport takes 30 minutes so ots anyones guess how much it will cost we were told £18-£25 so the 30KN (about £3) airport bus fair was a bargain. Bus is clearly marked stops outside the terminal and takes you to the bus station in Zagreb. I would advise you to look at a town map before you go adn see if you can find the hotel relative to the train and bus stations. The walk between the two takes about 20-25 minutes for comparison purposes

Plitvice National Park If you have a free day in Zagreb it is well worth doing a day trip to Plitvice. You can catch a bus from the Main Bus Station. It will take about two hours to get there and will drop you at the main gate. Spend the day exploring the waterfalls and lakes in the park. Allow at least 4 hours and probably longer in order to see everything. Bring your camera! Catch the bus back to Zagreb from either of the two main gates. Be mindful if the bus has no seats free it may not stop, so be there early and make sure there is another bus running in case you dont get on the first one.

How long in Zagreb? If you are travelling through Croatia, you will probably find one day more than enough for visiting Zagreb. It is the capital but the rest of the country has much more interesting cities/places (e.g. Dubrovnik, Plitvice Lakes, Hvar and other islands...).
