WE arrived at Villa Nico after a long tiring day and found ourelves in a most comfortable, and welcoming boutique hotel. Our room was very nicely appointed, spacious and very clean, service and food in the restaurant was outstanding. The owner Nico, spent a little time with us at our table and we found his company delightful. We would recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone traveling to Zadar. excellent.

We arrived on 1.9.07, left our luggage in the room and went to visit Zadar. At 11 PM, when we came back to our hotel, we noticed that in the small Hotel Restaurant was a wedding celebration with a life music group playing. The hotel receptionist did not inform us on arrival about the wedding banquet and the expected noise. As a consequence of the noise we could not sleep and at 2 AM I called the reception, asking them to stop the music, which according to the receptionist was not possible.
The next morning (2.9.07) I claimed at the reception, saying that I would not pay the full rate for this night, taking into account that we could not sleep until 4 AM. The receptionist answered that she would discuss this with the hotel owner.
On the next day (3.9.07), when we checked-out and asked for the bill, the lady at the reception informed me that the owner agreed on a 10% discount, which we considered as insufficient for the inconveniences caused. The hotel owner, Mr. Nico Moric, came. He was very furious and, retaining my passport in his hands, he said that we should immediately pay the full price and go. He does not need guests like us. I asked him for my passport, he said that he would retain my passport until settlement of the hotel bill.
We were very astonished about the behaviour and tremendous disrespectful treatment of Mr. Moric against his hotel guests.
We paid the full price and than I asked him for the official complaint forms. He declined to give me the forms. I asked him three times for the official complaint forms since this is a 3 Star Hotel rated by the Croatian Tourism Board. He declined again and said that we should go to the Police if we have a problem.
Further discussions with him were worthless, so we left the hotel and some days later the country with bad remembrance. I can not recommend this hotel.

I did not like the stay here. In my holidays I like to follow an itinerary along a country, not just stay a week or so in one place. We have reserved a triple (family) room for 1 night, and since the hotel was full with long-stay-guests, they've put us in a low-quality, low-standard room, lower to what we have reserved. Without choice. I tried to stay in the room as least as possible, and to move away as soon as possible!!! A bad choice if you are the "travelling-and-stop-around" kind of visitor. The breakfast was OK, otherwise I would have rated it lower than I did.
