A bit "eastern" look hotel, but nice and clean. Probably they will change that furniture :). Food was fantastic, everyday fresh fish, a lot of fruit and very good beer from all-inclusive pipe. We will come back for sure! Great price value.

Having read horrible reviews (on another site ) after I had booked our 5 night stay, we had a pleasant surprise during our time at the Hotel Donat. First of all, we had a lovely taxi driver, booked through the hotel's onsite travel agent, who collected us from the airport at Zadar . The price of 40 Euros for our small party of four was a little expensive but we did get to our hotel quickly at 9 o clock at night . The driver a Macedonian who had settled in Zadar 7 years ago was keen to give us an insight into the area . The Donat Hotel is a very "Eastern European" looking building , 50 metres from the sea with rooms that are functional rather than comfortable . The reception and bar area needs a good make over to make it more inviting , for example some flowers around and more subtle lighting . On our first night we were cold in bed with just one blanket between us - all the more reason for cuddling up closer in bed! However we saw the room staff in the morning who quickly found more blankets. The really plus things about our stay was the great selection and quality of the food dishes . A good selection of fish (locally caught ) and meat dishes available at lunch and evening meal. Perhaps more variety could have been available on the sweet counter from day to day . All of this for £20 a day fully inclusive - soft drinks , local beer and wine available all day and at meal time . One big plus was that we could use the facilities of the sister 4* hotel Funimation situated on the same site -indoor pool, sun beds , shops and evening entertainment. Our friends often stay in 5* hotels and they said that they had not experienced such a variety and quality of food especially the fish courses.
