Myself and two children (17 & 12) stayed for one week at Hotel Ivan and really enjoyed ourselves. Admittedly air-conditioning was an issue as it never appeared to be on in the public spaces - eg. dining hall and large reception area with bar. But the doors were all left open and, being on the coast, a welcome breeze managed to cool us down. It was also possible to eat and drink on the large open air terraces with good waiting staff always available.
The room was small for the three of us but we hardly spent much time in there anyway. The AC unit in the room was not as effective as those we're used to in the UK and US but it did the trick at night. The plumbing seemed a little haphazard with the shower flow diminishing to almost nothing when the hotel was full at the weekend. A little smelly too at times.
We ate heartily every day and I was pleased to see some food being cooked 'front of house' to order and the buffet being constantly refreshed. We certainly suffered no ill effects!
The pool was great and emptied and cleaned twice whilst we were there by a group of cleaners armed with mops etc. A skim to remove pine tree debris might have been useful though on the other days... Sunbeds were charged for daily - 20 kuner (£2) when not immediately by the pool.
We enjoyed our week there but two weeks would have been too long as there was only the other resort hotels to visit in the evening. The bus service to/from Sibenik stopped at 9.30pm which made us feel a little isolated.

Worst Holiday Ever

Rooms awful with bare wires hanging from ceiling & television wouldn't work. No water in swimming pool. No nearby shop or restaurants as advertised. Problems with air conditioning. Got food poisoning from unhygienic restaurant. Had to find a pharmacy in Sibenik to get medication. From being given keys in this hotel to returning them this holiday was a nightmare.
The Worst Hotel Experience in My Life

Even in the Soviet Union I haven't seen such a mediocre accomodation. Tiny rooms, broken shower without soap and shampoos in it, beach with Croatian agressive and ignorant teenagers, intentionally splashing water on vacationers, disgusting restaurant without airconditioning, which is switched off to save money on electricity so it looks mire like sauna to people trying to chew unhealthy and tasteless food. I believe that they don't ever sanitise or wash this resort, for we and other vacationers have caught a stomach virus. At this point you would not be surprised that of course there wasn't any entertainment. The pool was so dirty that I couldn't even let my children water their toes in it.

Can recommend the day trips on offer which we found to be quite resonably priced if you wanted to get away from the complex, the trip to the national park and village party are recommended but the lunch included on the national park is not what you might be expecting there is a lot of wine and water and a choice of meat/fish and a cabbage salad, if you have children might not be to their taste.
The health centre facilites is a great place to spend time swimming pool and loungers here are free for hotel guests and treatments are reasonably priced antistress massages come highly recommended. Overall a good week.
