Great food even though I am a vegetarian. Lots of choice and friendly staff in the restaurant. Rooms very basic, but quite clean. No air-con so beware. NIGHTMARE Butlin's style entertainment every damn night - very loud so an early night is impossible. This spoiled our holiday. Rabac is heading towards being another Lagonos in years to come. Nearby Labin is lovely, with good local bus connections. I would not go back to this hotel or to Rabac.

Hotel ok & reasonably clean. Buffet food repetitive & below average, but free wine /soft drinks were on demand. No coffee provided at dinner.Staff were attentive & polite.Hotel needs quite a lot of refurnishment.the sliding doors on our balcony were very hard to operate. The free safe was situated at floor level.just what an over 65 needs! Not a lot to do in the resort of Rabac.Local bus needed to get to the bus station in Rabin (only about 6 per day)where buses to other places go from. The nearest bus stop to the hotel is only 200 m ,but be prepared that the bus may be full like it was for us one day.If all daily trips are taken from the tour operator then be prepared to pay over £200 each person.Hotel indoor pool was very cold, much colder than the 2 outdoor pools.the warmest swim was in the sea.Would not go back to either the hotel or the resort. Too isolated!

Don't use the disabled access !!

The first full day we were there I walked down the disabled access at the front of the hotel. You'd think this would be a safest place in the hotel. Wrong. What I didn't notice was an olive tree growing over the slope. It had been raining and hence there was a dangerous mixture of oil and water on the tiled slope. Feet slipped from under me and I came down a terrible thump. Ambulance called. Spent that day and the next with the Croatian medical services. Nothing broken but holiday was ruined. Help provided by hotel was two bags of ice cubes. Now returned home but still very unwell.

The buffet was excellent enough choice to cover all tastes. The rooms were clean. The staff were great. The only fault we found was being unable to get a sunbed as they were covered in towels by 8.30am although there was a sign saying this was prohibited it should have been controlled by staff. apart from that the resort was great but take some jellybeans for the beach its all pebbles.

For a 3 star hotel, this was an excellent hotel. The food was very good and plentiful with free drinks every evening. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a wide range of not just continental breakfast items but also various types of eggs and also bacon. The rooms were clean and well appointed and the location of the hotel is wonderful with views over the bay and along the roadway into the village of Rabac. The staff were very accommodating and most spoke English.

Went with Page and Moy and enjoyed everything about the hotel. As others have said, rooms fine, staff first class plus, Rabac we would happily visit again. Our only problem and hence the 7:10 rather than 9:10 .was that, as 'veggies' who had advised P&M of our preferences, there was no provision for those who did not wish to eat fish or meat. (In fact, for us, the best meal of our Croatia experience was in the restaurant at the Postojna Caves!!).

Just returned from a week in hotel. Room basic but clean. Staff very friendly & will go out of their way to be helpful. Location close to beach. Food varied & tasty. Trips organised by courier were good & tour guides new their stuff which made the trips very interesting & enjoyable. Buffet style meals allowed us to eat as & when. Choice of indoor & outdoor pool plus a very clean sea - used all of them.

A good all-round holiday experience was provided by the Hedera Hotel, and being Sept. school term conditions prevailed. Superb location in an unspoilt (as yet!) fishing village location.Staff and facilities were first class, rooms clean and serviced daily, and clear English was spoken where it mattered.Organised trips were at reasonable cost, well executed, and tour guides who were locals, certainly knew their stuff.Faint hearts should not attempt the more vigourous trips, and Venice is to be avoided.Dirty, pricey, and overcrowded. The shipping company guide (not Hotel staff), was constant, overpowering, and knew the price of everything and the value of nothing. 9+ out of 10 for Croatia.

Hotel is good value for money. The food is what you expect for price of holiday and a 3 star hotel, only pleased we booked a sea view as the road at the back is not very pleasant and there is no other view, also the higher you are in the hotel the better the view over the beach and along the prom. Try to remember to take your own swimming/beach towel as they do not want you to take the bath towel in the room, and you cannot hire one. We booked by Travelsphere and the Croatian couriers were good on trips and spoke very good English.

Good Location

Like its two sister hotels - the Mimosa and Narcis, the hotel is located right in front of the bay - a 100 yards from the sea. The start of the promenade starts from outside the Mimosa and is a lovely 20 min walk to the centre of Rabac where the main shops are such as the supermarket and post office. Walk uphill a little and you should be able to find a couple more restaurants on the hillside. At the back of the hotels there is however a road so try and book a sea facing room. Another 100 yards up that road is the bus stop to Labin, the medieval town which over looks the bay. The first stop will alight you at the new part of the town whilst the second will put you right in the middle of the old town square. Just around the corner is the edge of the hill/mountain which has an amazing panorama and restaurant serving traditional Croatian food and great beer. The trip up and down will cost you approx 2.50 return or you can walk down which is 4 km - a bit rough in places but well worth it.
